      lolz.... my original october bought n8 is replaced with a sealed brand new black n8 due to purple tint issue and also those care guys damaged the rear body panel.however that issue is still there in my new n8 and i would be waiting till may end for this issue (maybe hardware or software or both) to be sorted out..if not then helloooo galaxy s2

        • guys help me in getting the best phone for under 15k. Should have a Good browser, music quality, wifi, gps, decent battery life. shortlisted optimus one, galaxy ace, dell xcd35. which of these is recommended. any other phone worth considering?

            i am happy owner of optimus one. Best phone till 15k range. Got it for 10100 from gurgaon.has all the features you want.
            Best thing it will get android 2.3 officially.

                  Oh, that's sad bro! Hope your problem gets rectified soon. And how can they damage the rear panel? You should demand replacement for that too.

                    Didn't i say Nokia has a pathetic customer serivice ?? You give them a new phone for software upgrade, they will tell you that the phone has water logging problem

                    I have totally lost hope with Nokia. My friends new nokia (1 day old) N8 was in service centre for 2 months due to the power problem..

                    The new 5130 music express i bought for presenting went dead within 1 hour of operation. ( it happened after i presented the phone ) Nokia took 40 days to repair. No one even cares for customer in Nokia. God help the N8 owners

                    Nokia takes more than a year to send reply for the problem i raised through their contact me form. That settled my bond with Nokia

                      my original n8 as i said had the purple tint issue hence gave to care at elephanta house (SR.Nagar) .. those guys really did try to convince me that its a design n crap and they showed me another n8 with the same problem.i opened the nokia webpage addressing and acknowledging the issue.i also threw in the word "consumer court".Then they shut their mouths and took my phone.i got it back after it went to delhi and was told that LCD was changed.Since the whole N8's body consistes of 3 parts,the top,middle and lower body panels.to remove the lcd screen they had to remove the top panel for which they used some thin blade like instrument to pry out from the space between the top and middle panel back side.that time only a small but negligible dent was formed.but the care guys here when i got the phone and after rejecting it (cause the problem was still there) changed another panel then and there and those buffoons i think,they pryed open the rear with a screw driver.now the top and middle panels werent fitting properly.i simply asked for a replacement after i showed them their faults and also for safety purpose ,brought my friend's new n8 which doesnt have the purple tint issue.

                      then i got a white n8 where there were all scratches on the screen guard and i typed in the code where one can check the device's usage since inserting the sim card (though you format it,it will show from original time) and also the rear pane showed very very slight signs of opening and outright rejected it.Then got the black n8 which was used only for 30mins by factory guys and except for the tint issue ,everything was perfect.also that phones warranty started from feb when compared to mine which started from oct.So i took it

                      Dont know man,nokia i prefer cause of the mature symbian OS and the thing can be properly used without any hassles unlike the iphone OS.Android i cant comment cause i havent used one.the features on the n8 are good overall.and the new update will bring inbuilt typing of text(keyboard).i love the battery life too.
                      but yeah the initial n8s had the motherboard heating problem,the phone being dead once restarted and now the purple tint issue(which only affects when the phone is idle)thast why i will wait till may ending for nokia to sort this out or i will exchange this with the galaxy2

                      • ^ How many times did you vistit them and how many days did it take to get a proper phone ? See you went to Nokia to rectify the Purple tint issue in your phone. After the NOKIA CARE experience you had sorted to a used phone after some fight and yet, that phone too had the same problem.

                        See, thats what i said Nokia customer service is very good.

                        My question with the Nokia guys were simple. When i bought a new phone, why the hell should i get a reefurbished phone after 30 days ? You should have fought for a new sealed pack rather than a used phone.

                          i visited them 3 times only.i dont think i would get a new sealed phone for my 6 month old phone right.... i mean if my phone was just a week old or even a month old then what you say holds right... for my heavily used 6 month old n8 (with a few scratches on the cam area cause of my own negligence) i got a 45mins used scratchless piece (with extended warranty upto feb 2012 when compared to the oct 2011 of my old one ).only the tint issue is there and it seems that nokia is shipping the new screens to be replaced with the defective ones.care manager guy gave me his number and said that he would personally call when they get the new screens(though i doubt that,i will be updated anyways by a friend who works in the care at another city).Any phone will get problems in due time.am just happy with the way things went.though am bothered about that stupid tint which shouldnt be there in the first place ...

                                apparently there are 3 types of screens from nokia in n8,c7 and also e7
                                all of hem are having problems regarding lcds
                                1)normal perfect screen
                                2)lcd with heavy purple tint issue
                                3)lcd with minimal tint issue

                                and all the screens according to nokia user groups are from samsung
