You need to be plugged in to a power source to be online 24X7. Max i would say 3 or 4 hours the battery juice would last. All the HTC phones have pathetic battery and mediocore camera. But the best support from the Modding community is available for HTC. Lost of custom ROMs and TweaksOriginally posted by RoadZilla View Post

@GP_freak, antz.bin: I saw some sites quoting many new Symbian 3 phones&another phone (maybe N8-01) with 960x540 resolution&1GHz processor.
Three UK Chief also stated that something radical is gonna happen to Symbian on April 12th...I wonder what!

Hmmm....I can sort of understand it. Since Windows phone 7 requires minimum of 1Ghz procy and 512 RAM, i think Nokia will release the same phone in Winows version and also in Symbian. It could very well be true. But the question for me is, will i buy a Nokia ?? The answer is No for a couple of years. More over, Symbian doesnt have a proper debugger to debug the OS( not sure, have read it a couple of time)Originally posted by Sarvajit View Post@GP_freak, antz.bin: I saw some sites quoting many new Symbian 3 phones&another phone (maybe N8-01) with 960x540 resolution&1GHz processor.

The Low end phones to have 800 Mhz Procy, Mid range phones to have 1Ghz and top end to have greater than 1Ghz or a Dual core
.
So the Top Nokia phone wil after all be a Mid range phone
. I love Symbian, But i hate Nokia for now.
PS: Wait till the end of this month for something to happen. BTW,Where are the links bro ?

Whenever I read something like ^^^ coming from Microsoft... All I remember isOriginally posted by GP_freak View PostSince Windows phone 7 requires minimum of 1Ghz procy and 512 RAM, i think Nokia will release the same phone in Winows version and also in Symbian.
Source: Windows Vista system requirements - Microsoft WindowsIf you want to run Windows Vista on your PC, here's what it takes:
1 gigahertz (GHz) 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
1 gigabyte (GB) of system memory (512 megabytes (MB) for Home Basic)
40 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space (20 GB for Home Basic)
Try running Vista on such a machine and you will know what I mean.
For those who don't possess such archaic hardware and/or a copy of Windows Vista, on such a machine, The OS will barely be able to start and then any and all tasks you needed to do with it will take a horribly frustrating amount of time. And thats why, When we say that the Nokia Win7 Flagship of tomorrow (i.e. the Mid-Range Phone of today) is in fact the minimum configuration required for Win Phone 7 to work, I would think long and hard before I even give it a second look. I would rather stay with an underdeveloped "Smartphone for the masses" platform like Bada if I get a flagship (Which has 4 times the hardware prowess than required to run 'Just the OS') rather than going in for a half baked 'Minimum configuration fulfilled' phone with a MS OS.
That was the reason I went for the Wave S8500 (the first BADA device, still equivalent to the flagship model (Wave II S8530) 1 year after launch) instead of a midrange Android(like a HTC Wildfire / LG O1 P500 / Galaxy 3 / Pop / Mini / Moto-LotsaShit). At least I know for sure that everything on my App Store will work very very well because it was meant to work at least on my device. I will not rue the fact that some f'in game I can see on the app store (selling for $0) would never work on my phone because I bought 'mid-range'.
@Saravjit I am glad you didn't fall for the Nokia E7 and support what they have been trying to prove in the smartphone market. It is high time they realised that phones configurations evolve like those of Personal computers did. Manufacturers like Samsung, HTC and LG have given you more processing in your pocket than all of NASA had in 1969(when a sent a man on the moon). Why can't Nokia just follow the suit is totally beyond me.
And if they keep on selling 'good devices last year' phones to the masses, it won't take long before 99% of the phones they sell have S40(dumbphone OS), a torch light, and a 'fixed focus' 3 mpix camera as the 'ground breaking features' with an average selling price of Rs.2763 and a profit margin of 3.8% on sales. A giant will then be surely killed (somehow this reminded me of West Indies Cricket team).
Moral of the story: Put your money on the champion. Side with Samsung.
Edit:
I for one would side with the Tegra(not necessarily 2) since it is giving us a definite time-line for further upgrades.Originally posted by GP_freak View PostOhhhhhh.Thats a soooper fast reply. Let me check these Links. Btw,can you tell me which sides would you take 1) Exynos processor 2) Tegra 2.
[MWC] NVIDIA has showed us something remarkable: their Tegra roadmap from 2011 to 2014. If you look at the Y-axis of the graph above,...

There were systems running windows 98 with ~800Mhz and 128 Mb ram. Those days are over. MS has been very clever about setting the Minimum requirements. When Win phone 7 came out, 1Ghz and 512 Ram was the highest stable configuration out. Yes, the same OS could run in even a higher configuration and also in lower config with some hacks. If only Win7 phones have Video calls and add on storage facility, then i would surely buy a windows phone rather than an Android. But, as usual MS takes a long time to send updates on the OS. Win7 OS is far more fluid than android, but the limitations set on it are too hight from MS.
Before hating the Win7, pls try the Omnia 7 to get what i am talking about. Its totally mesmerising with hell a lot of limitataions.
In a couple of Years, it will mature in to a very stable OS with lots of features
But cant wait till the cookies gets baked
. Will get a Dual core adroid form sammy( you end up seeing the screen every day and SAMOLED from sammy is the best in the business) and if required, can port windows 7 to it later some time.
Edit : The Hummingbird was good, but the exynos is not using the same line of GPU for the SGS2. More over i read Tegra doesnt support NEON. What is NEON, if you ask me, i will tell that i have to google it. But i still feel i will stick to exynos for the sole reason for the complete integrity of Sammys board and chip.Last edited by GP_freak; 04-05-2011, 06:57 PM.

Impressive stuff... I said.. you can never underestimate the talent working at Samsung Inc
As for Windows Phone 7, If it is actually as good as you say it is, I would still want to wait for the cookie to bake properly and only give it a try when the limitations become more tolerable (maybe in WP7.5/8
). Anyways what is it with new OSs and 'copy-paste'? How hard is it to implement a clipboard anyways.. (FYI Bada had copy-paste, flash support and USB / Wifi Tethering from v1.0)
And for upgrading OS.. Believe me, I had a 1st gen android (HTC Dream) and had flashed it with all sorts of updates (Thanks to 1 Cyanogen) all the way from Android 1.0 to 2.2. Believe me it is a game that gets uglier with each update.... And even with all the ugliness, there is not much that you stand to gain from it. In the end you are stuck with a piece of outdated hardware you wish you never had updated.Advice is a form of nostalgia.

.
I read some where that Samsung is having 4 diff teams working on display and procy tech and the best and efficient design is put in to mass production.
About WP7, Its actually MS, who have put on the restrictions its the way they have designed the OS. Most of these functions were present in the previous version of the Windows OS. I hope you get my point.
BTW,COPY PASTE updates for WP7 have been released looong back.
Actually what I really hate about android is the IOS like app screen. It looks so dull and boring and no live titles as WP7. Its like I have to keep scrolling the apps screen if we have numerous apps. I would be happy if we can create a folder and segregate the apps in to diff category.
Agreed about the Upgrade part on the older phones. Phones are getting out dated very soon. Say six months, the hardware config of the flagship phones gets surpassed by other manufacturer.
