Guys, I have been going through all this thing about N8's problem infected with purple tint, power problem, bad service, etc.
Well, I know Nokia's service sucks big time. But I have been using N8 for 6-7 months now, and I never noticed any purple tint or power problem.

So, its really bad to hear this, but I'm lucky to have the right unit with no problems whatsoever. If you take a N8 & if you face any problems in the starting days itself, you can ask for direct replacement with a sealed one.

One more important thing: Never keep a screensaver running on your mobile with only-AMOLED Screen. AMOLED's don't last long, about 14000 hours only, which translates to 1 year and 4 months. So, keeping them on full time will spoil them, just after the warranty is over.
Super AMOLED's can last longer though, about 60k, equal to LCD's. So, no worries there.

Buddy, samsung has been producing AMOLED screens for ages now and hence dont worry about this. More over, the new AMOLED screens are having a higher half brightness life time.

Do check the recent benchmarks for SGS2. They are eating all the phones for breakfast now. Now SGS2 also has USB on the Go support.

Also check the features of the Exynos procy.It has hell of featues. Am bored of reading it again and again

that why my impression on nokia is degrading.Instead of owning up their mistake they are covering and hushing it up.Atleast apple had the balls to acknowledge the antenna issue though their solution was dumb.
And to top it all those defunct LCD screens were from samsung.

like i said,will wait till june end for nokia to fix my n8 either with a new screen or software update,otherwise its hello SGS2

well for my list started with nokia big one when it started that 5000 series big batter, the a Panasonic 2 small phones, then came to nokia with
3310,3210,6600,6670,n73,now using e71 since 2 years. Shall be changing to a black berry

So what if the screens are from Samsung? It could very well be a driver issue or an interface problem or even a vendor Q check problem. But I cannot accept such a fault in the Flag ship device. Nokia should have completely tested the phones before shipping them to customers

I would say, chuck the N8 and get the SGS2. It has all the features you can imagine except for a physical keyboard.

dont know if its a chip set problem or the LCD problem or S/W issue..whatever it is,my n8 has a deadline till june end

Now time to retire my N97 Mini from service .. strange we most of us won;t use almost 70% of mobile features ...but still likes to pay money for it ... call it human psychology

Somehow I knew that the camera used to make the videos was a Nokia Handset. Then I read your blog and confirmed my hunch. Anyways... Nice review.. seems like we are onto something good.

Is that even released ? I thought it hasnt.
Shud be at par with current 1ghz varieties, and a rung lower than the dual cores.

Not yet released in India, but I was just wondering how big it will be to carry around!
No doubt the 21:9 screen means no scrolling left&right, but does that alone justify the bulk?
