Exhaust Note and its effect of other people
The only way to describe the exhaust note is maybe 'soulful'
. I don't think any video or sound clip even comes close to replicating the effect it has on someone who is riding with one of these things on their machine. While it may sound melodramatic; the exhaust note sings to your heart and appeals to your soul...
There is one more thing that I have noticed over the days... its the effect that it has on others... some look at it with something akin to envy... while there are others who look at it with incomprehension as if they are looking at something thats mutant... girls asking their guys what is that and why he doesn't have a bike that and the guys looking at you with pissed off looks
...
...then there are those who seem to go berserk
... while you are riding at a sedentary pace... these guys seem to become possessed by the exhaust note... they start cutting and weaving through the traffic in an extremely dangerous manner... on the next signal they come stand besides you and gun their engines... what's wrong with these guys
??? Looks like they need to be exorcised

2) I would like to make it a bit clearer. The surface topology of the piston crown had been modified to plainly increase the compression ratio by decreasing the clearance volume. To put in simple, the height of the piston has been increased. Also the height of the cylinder could be decreased.>>

I am not sure how far some one can measure the Squish in a combustion chamber to optimize it, yes, they could do in a flow analysis software to stimulate or can be actually video graphed by using quartz glass windows in the cylinder and run the engine for a few strokes. I leave that to Joel.>>

But I can be dead sure that the undercuts in the piston head are to make clearance for the Intake/Exhaust vales and the spark plug tip (Valves open in to the combustion area, not outwards, so they do need some clearance so that they do not hit the pistons when the piston in the TDC either during the intake stroke or during the exhaust stroke>>
Pardon if am wrong. Just wanted to share my thought.Last edited by GP_freak; 05-10-2011, 03:54 PM.

My experience was fine, it was fun. Last time it was easy this time it was too hard. I knew even before I entered that I had no chance of placing 1st. I knew which 220s where coming. No 220 was stock and none had as less mods as I did. They all were fully done up, not street machines. My goal for this time was to clock a better time than last time and I did, next time will show everyone what a 220 can really do and what Joel can also do.Originally posted by yamaha_yzf_r15 View Postplease share your experience ,Ripping the streets of Bombay on my P250 M

@Abhimanyu - Thats the common part. Sometimes I end up being caught up with some posers at lights, coz they assume its some loud-nonsense bike and thats all. Turn green and the whole story changes. The front wheel refuses to stay till 2 gears and then my 7-8secs to 100kph shows up. Its a rush that cant be explained. I sometimes grin over my own creations, inside the helmet.
The same goes with my car too. Well, thats the whole experience of tuning. Nirvana @ WOT!sigpic

Haha! I hear ya. These dogs and b*tches keep barking all the time. But no one can change their nature. Some who keep whining will just have to continue doing so. Posers will continue to try to race with us when we are riding and keyboard warriors will rant about us and our bikes but real enthusiasts will appreciate what we do. Either way we continue to have a blast on our machines.Originally posted by Joel View Post@Abhimanyu - Thats the common part. @abhimanyu
same here.No matter how hard I try to ignore those morons, they will always come back to battle with you.
I was coming back today and suddenly a guy with his modified R15(K&N air filter and Pulsar 135 tail) was provoking me.
Thought of teach him a lesson. But again my KIT is very much new,so i did not rev hard. Finally i had reached the signal and we both were standing parallel. He was reving hard. Green light and when i twisted mine ,oh my god as if i am riding a rocket. That guy was no where near to me.And i have not exceeded the 7k limit yet!!
People are ready to spend lots of money on some nonsense thing like k&n, stickering, fitting some locally made exhaust and what not but when it comes to BIG BORE and exhaust ,people will reactlike"OMG What are you talkingmate ".
When my stock engine got seized due to lack of engine oil(Thanks to service guys) I was so frustrated. And through XBHP I came to know about a great man known as JOEL anna. What a human being he is.He has helped me the most.
Also to KWOK FIST and you.Man you both have inspired me alot. You both write like a Russian poet.
When the entire world was saying me not to go for hot rodding and saying me to go for a new bike, one of my friend who has a zero knowledge about bike told me "See bro,I dont have any Idea about modification and all but as a part of Indian Air force I can say is Sukhoi 30MKI is considered as the best fighter in the world (even better than the RUSSIAN SU-30) and it is compared with RAPTOR.Do you know why ?Because we have fitted ISRAELI and FRENCH avionics system on board.Thats a hot rodded Flanker. So listen to your heart and go for it"Owned - Yamaha RX100 -> TVS Fiero F2 -> Yamaha R15 -> KTM RC390

@ Boon : I understand what you mean mate ! Even i'm in the run in period for joel's parts . So hard not to go WOT . Some people think just cause you have a fast bike you will race with them . A fast bike is for me to go fast when i deem it correct . Sorry if this is OT but I faced the same situation except it was with a fellow on a pulsar with a silencer with a hole in it . I just waved him on
@abhimanyu : I hope to mod my bike to the extent you and KwokFist have done . Not anytime soon but maybe in the coming months

Data logger and GoPro camera
For the past few days there has been some careful thinking and deliberation going on about how I want to proceed further (whether to proceed or not was never a question) with my R16, it seem to me that before any further changes are made there needs to be a round up and summing up of result of all changes made till date.
I have been deliberating about how I should put the whole post run-in experience in words. I don't think I will be able to justice by just describing the changes with mere words, people have already posted their views on the same on various threads and my words are not going be anything dramatically different... there is an old adage "figures speak more than words" and along the same line is the adage "a picture is worth a thousand words" which I think we can today modify to say "a short movie clip is worth a thousand words".
So I have been contemplating getting an action sports camera and a data logger. For the action sports camera I have finally selected a GoPro camera. As for the data logger, I asked Joel for his recommendations and he very helpfully suggested G-Tech Pro or a V-box. After studying both of them I have decided to go for the G-Tech Pro. The V-box is a very comprehensive data logger with all the bells and whistles one could ask for, however, I like the way G-Tech Pro presents its data, so G-Tech Pro it is.
Both of these are being ordered and should arrive within the next 3 to 4 weeks. The fun starts once they arrive. Not only will I be able to measure speed and timing, but also G-forces and power output. Should make for a very interesting comparison with a stock R15. I will not only post the results but will also do a write up on the whole experience of setting up of the camera and data logger and the test runs. Till then all we can do is wait with anticipation...

^^ And here I was, waiting for a final ride review. I guess I will have to wait a bit longer. Maybe the clips and the words can come in separate packages?
On the other hand, I may experience it myself - yes I am going to get my bike Joelled shortly!

I'm sure you cant wait for the G-Tech Pro to arrive either! Waiting for the figures..
Am so happy with the big-bore kit! Can't wait to get the cam, ECU and exhaust.. I wish Joel would accept credit cards! :PA good rider has balance, judgment, and good timing. So does a good lover!
