GS150R power economy modes
I was told by the showroom guy that in Economy mode the gearshift light flashes indicating its time to shift to the next higher gear(you can still rev it in the same gear, but the light will flash till you up-shift ). Whereas, in Power mode there is no indication light&we can rev freely and change gears when we like.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostHmmm... This is interesting. We will see what happens. KP was saying you could feel a significant difference in the power economy mode pickup. We both want to know whether there is any difference in power delivery, or is it just an indication light by means of sensors to the engine for calculating ideal rpm range. Could you please post about your test ride experience?Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Actually, I could not ride much on that day. It was a small gully, so only up to 3rd gear i could manage. So, no comments about the power modes.
And I guess it is not just the indication of gear shift. If it is, Suzuki is making us fools, and I do not think so. You need to change some settings in the digiconsole to change the modes. Let us wait for a full road test to come.

I suggest you shoot off a mail to the chairperson of Suzuki India about when it would launch.Originally posted by uday_nugur View PostThe people down there at suzuki are making customers fool.First they launched a bike in october and said it would be delivered in jan.what a s**t?

One of my friend booked the bike day before yesterday and he was also said that the delivery will start from first week of Feb.Around 15th jan they will give the bike to journos and most probably the proper test ride for customers will also start.Originally posted by uday_nugur View PostI booked the bike in november and at that time I was told that it would be delivered till 10th of jan, but now they are saying it would be delivered in first week of feb.I am really losing my patience I just dont know what to do?

At last some news! Then, what the salesperson told me one month back was true that the bike would be delivered in Feb. At least, he did not try to fool me.Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostOne of my friend booked the bike day before yesterday and he was also said that the delivery will start from first week of Feb.Around 15th jan they will give the bike to journos and most probably the proper test ride for customers will also start.

Will keep it short and simple.
My test ride for GS was nothing other than Chance pe Dance (A very popular term nowadays).
Looks: Nothing great but overall a decent looker. There are bits and pieces which look new but overall it looks very similar to Pulsar. I mean if some GS passes you then at the first instant you will feel that it’s a Pulsar. That said the hump on the tank is very neat and prominent and stands out quite a bit. The rear section (Tail lamp and integrated indicators) are very neatly done. A better designed rear mud flap would have complemented it. Though the digital display is neat but the dials are too big for my liking. A smaller font would have given it a better youthful feel. Headlamp looks nice but the position is completely out of place. Its way too high.
Ride Report: Starter is very smooth to operate. One press and the bike came into life. The first thing that came to my mind after hearing the engine sound is “Isn’t this very similar to Unicorn”. The engine cannot be termed as peppy but more of a relaxed performer. Engine cuts off at around 10.5k at each gear. Below are the max speeds at each gear.
1st gear-37
2nd gear-67
3rd gear-87
4th gear- Forgot but its around 100
(Note: Except the first gear the other speeds can be marginally incorrect as the test ride was taken by me some 15 days back and I forgot the exact figures but I remember that I was very impressed with the 2nd gear speed.)
The max I did was 103 on the speedo and after 97-98 you feel that the bike is losing all its power. One thing which impressed me was the way bike pulled at low speed in higher gears. Even at 6th gear you were able to pull the bike neatly from a speed of 30-32. To sum up engine is very very Unicorn but a tad less punchier.
Gear shift is another big positive for the bike. I found it better than Unicorn. I had to take a U-Turn and surprisingly the bike had a bigger turning radius than other 150’s. I rechecked it and found it to be same. Also the bike feels pretty heavy on any kind of turns though not sure about its cornering abilities. There were no bad roads so can’t really comment on the suspension and the ride quality. I had the option to go on and on but the bike was running on last few drops of petrol and it actually stopped before reaching the showroom.
P.S:I couldn’t check the ride modes to see whether there is any kind of difference felt in performance. And no pictures from my side.Last edited by MG; 01-07-2009, 08:17 PM.

So, we can expect around 130 something on speedo ...
Reg. pulling in 6th from 30-32, I feel it's normal & acceptable. Although, R15 pulls cleanly only after 37 something ...
and what about the weight of the bike, was it noticeable as a demerit?---

This is very unexpected. And disappointing. Seems more like a relaxed heavy tourer kinda bike.Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostTo sum up engine is very very Unicorn but a tad less punchier.
I had expected this...with wet weight being 149 kilos.Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View Postthe bike feels pretty heavy on any kind of turns though not sure about its cornering abilities.DoN\'t LivE tO DiE, dIe tO LiVe
