^^^ Over Kill is an under statement...!!
Over Kill is the right word for the PRICE 23,000/- INR .... Seriously WTF......!!!

+ The current MRF tyres at front wont hold such pressures i think.....they would simply skidd...especially on roads that we have in India.

Steel Braided Hose is one thing i might try...!! it costs somewhere around 2ks !!

    ==================

Regarding the Leo Vince Exhausts - Nothing like it -Been riding on it since April 2012 -No issues with cops -sound becomes much softer and bassy after 2Ks
Performance - Revs awesome. No figures as such available with me. But you can see the Dyno Chart on Leo Vice website.
Pollution - No issues. passed the RTO emissions test in INDIA with Flying Colors

First of all, the stock brake has plenty of stopping power. Even under extreme conditions the stock brake will not feel under powered. It will take a lot to overwhelm the stock setup and if you are able to do that, then you have really got your self in to serious trouble. The biggest and most positive change that you could make to the setup is changing over to steel braided line. This one change will really transform the stock setup from good to superlative.

The bigger disc setup has its set of drawbacks. For one, it increases weight. Secondly, the caliper does not fit directly onto the fork mountings. It requires a adapter plate which means two extra bolts and greater chances for flexing under certain conditions.
          Soooo right!
Yes, this "super large" disc legend deserves to have it's neck twisted!
To the above reasons (weight being the main one), you could add the risk to simply block the front wheel with a brake applying more torque than what the tyre can get from it's adherence on the road.
Such setups are for racing, eventually with race tyres, and where the discs need to eliminate as much heat as possible caused by the extreme braking power applied. If you ride like racing, that's insane. If you do not ride like racing, this setup becomes ridiculous!

              No major headache,

Are you riding an FZ then there is no problem.

look for Osram Nightbreaker 60/55 watts bulb or else a cheaper bulb will be from Halonix, costs around INR 40 only and throws a yellowish colour light. Look for H4 bulb. It is a direct fit in the holder. Once you install the bulb, you will have to make sure that you don't crank your bike with the bulb kept on or else it will put severe stress on the electronics and the battery will get drained fast. I have seen some people have a habit of keeping their headlights ON on FZs even after they switch of the engine. So avoid doing that. If for any reason one fine day you bike suddenly refuses to start or there is no power coming to the console, make sure that you check out the fuse first.

Not that it will happen with your ride but some riders have had this issue with higher wattage bulbs on their respective FZs

              Cheers,

You can still lock the front wheel up using the stock brakes. It comes down to the riders skill in applying correct amount braking force depending on the road conditions.
I'd get a upgraded rotor and caliper (Looked into Brembo OEM Calipers) if they are readily available to buy.

I know you're in love with all kinds of accessories!

Anyway, the whole thing boils down to: is it needed or not? Besides the look, as far as this bike is concerned: not really!

                    BTW: r u back soon?

I'm back for now. I head back out on 2/12. Supposed to be for 28day rotation in Queensland Australia, However if I get my Papua New Guinea work visa approved (usually its a 3month wait but depends on how hard you "push") I'll be working out of there. Not sure on the dates on that.

                      • Hey guys, need some advice/help here. Recently bought kits off of Joel. Basically got the following -

                        185CC BB Kit
                        Racing Clutch Springs
Racing CDI ( Not arrived yet)
                        Cylinder Head w/ porting.
                        32MM Racing Carburettor (UMA Racing)
                        Racing Camshaft

Well, now, basically after installing everything. The top end remains the same, if not lower. Previously i was able to hit 128KMPH with Yoshimura Exhaust and BMC free flow filter only done.

NOW, after all of this mods, i do get better acceleration, but unfortunately the highest ive been able to hit is 127KMPH. Tried getting the carb tuned by various well-known mechanics locally and in the neighbouring country, but to no avail.

Tried contacting Joel, but i don't get replies...so, you guys are my last hope lol.

                        • ^^^ the top speed cannot increase unless one of these happen;
                          1. Gearing changes: unless the gearing ratios are altered, you will not get a higher top speed.
                          2. Increased rev ceiling: if you cannot change the gearing ratios, then the rev ceiling needs to increase.
Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

                          • Hmm, interesting. Though I'd like to note that there's someone here that switched carb and got higher top end, and another who got his block re-bored and got the same.

Alternatively, as seen in Joel's vids on YouTube, we did the same mods, he did hit 135 in it.

Anyways I'm getting the block opened up to check for issues later on. Lets see what happens.

in any case, if any of you guys have the same setup as me, do let me know the jet sizes you're using. Cos mines guzzling petrol like there's no tomorrow haha.

Also, Joel did get back to me. Informed him of the issues. Hopefully he knows where the issue may lie.

The difference is your bike will be more reliable and with Joel's kit (if there isn't any defect(s)), you can do high speeds for prolonged period comparing to stock. There was a word making rounds that Top speed will have less difference in margin comparing to stock. It's not how far it reaches the top-speed, it's how quickly it reaches the top-speed. Talking about the mileage, what's the mileage you are getting.? And what about jets? What's the size are you using right now.

To All who love bikes and this forum

I need a small screw type thing called Carburetor Main Jet with sizes 117.5 or 118 or 120 which is eating my head Day and Night. I have searched two big cities in my area and there wasn't any luck. Please guys if you get me one, I will surely compensate for your hardwork.

                              • I get what u mean. Though, i'd still expect, even if minimal, gain in top-end. My mileage? For now i'll put it at an approximate 20-25kmpl. Lol yeah. I'll be doing a final tune, and will post the mileage again. Last person who tuned stuffed in bigass jets... -_-
