The T135 block is same diasil block as in the YZF series, it cannot be re-bored out or re-sleeved..just like the stock R15 block, if the block fails in any aspect you have to throw it away. The 165, 182 CC block that you see commonly are cheap imitations of the LC block from Indonesia. The are sold at a mere price of 1600INR per block and 750INR per piston/ring set. If you order in bulk you get it for almost nothing.

BTW, I see the term "Semi-Forged" mentioned in this thread, can someone throw light on it and explain why the term is used?

Can you tell me why it is not possible to open up the 135 bore to accept a steel sleeve ?
"Semi Forged" is an Exclusive term , used by the only person ,who knows what it means...

People cut up rxg blocks, install rd sleeves and piston.... So i guess it is possible to install a sleeve in the 135 block and put in a 180 cc piston.. What baffles me is without reprofiling the head or installing a longer conrod, what could be gained from this act...

I am not pressurising Mr. Vikram to get the kits in a jiffy as this time i want the things to be done in the right manner. I have already witnessed their work's potential just by trying out the prototype head and cam so i am looking forward to the new NiKaSil kits to arrive. When it does, the ownership reports shall be shared on this thread.

Hi Shivang!! Good to know that your experience is good with Motozone Guys. However, I am sceptical of him after the filter incident. The tall claims he made over the phone, and the damp squid that it turned out to be has made me more cautious.

Yes, I have seen Abhimanyu's post and I liked the proper steps that Vikram followed.

Will connect with Vikram and see if he will follow the same procedures on my bike.

The T135 is based on Yamaha LC Engine, the block is same as R15. We cannot rebore as its one diasil mould. The ones we see are cheap after market imitations.

• Test highway long ride run on Motozone head and Cam, 11th September 2013

Hi All,

sorry for not providing quick updates.. been busy with work. Anyways, i have had a chat and inspection of my bike done by Motozone. They have assured me that i can safely go ahead with my long test ride at high speeds provided i monitor the engine oil level. Hopefully, if all goes well then i will be going for a 300+ kms ride with my FZ - X by the end of this month. The route will be different this time and but i will be riding with a pillion rider to simulate the same conditions as earlier to see the gains and losses over the RC head and cam and the stock cam and the RC head. Although i am not a huge fan of FE runs, for the sake of mileage report seekers, i shall provide the data on the same.

I guess more or less we would have then covered all the aspects of basic touring on a modded bike at sea level and an average altitude. My ride has now so far completed 6,000 + kms on the BB kit ( losing compression, leaking too) and luckily so far i have somehow managed to not seize it! The above mentioned test is purely for the head and the camshaft to see the gains over stock and with pillion load. On stock bike we are all aware with a pillion and saddle bags how much power is sapped of the puny 2 valve 153cc motor. I am confident that with my FZ - X now capable of doing speeds of 90 - 95 kmph at just under 7,000 rpm, the overall ease of journey and range should be good enough...

So far i have covered around 1,200 kms on the head and the cam and the FE is still stuck at 40 kmpl on city runs with sporty riding.. which is quite commendable. No appearance of ugly reverse crank or backfire. This particular head and the high lift cam has a thumbs up from my end folks so for any of the riders who are keen on going for this route on their Yamaha FZs and Fazers.. i can safely recommend the ported head and the high lift cam from Motozone.

The FE mark so far translates to 400 kms tank range @ 10 ltrs of fuel and 2 ltrs spare as reserve which is roughly a dash short of 500 kms on a single tank!! Let's see how much she yields on the upcoming highway run.

Till then stay tuned....

Cheers,

HEY brothers, after speaking to Joel and sending my bike to his mechanic in chennai, i decided to put it off and buy a stock 220 with stock 21ps of power B|
my excitement was short lived, as when going to pick my bike up from Joels mechanic, i was shocked to see the had dismantled the whole bike and the tank was scratched, half tank of 97 octane was stolen (claimed to be empty upon my giving the bike to them) and my stickers were all gone, as well as my confidence in this bullshit.

So far the 220 is perfect, and i shall be posting mods that im gonna do with MOTOZONE.

Shv18 Bhai, i lost my phone so couldn't keep in touch :/

P.S. I was charged RS.2,500 xD

Sorry to hear about your bike. I clocked 7800 in last one month without a single problem, 1500kms within city limits and rest on highways, crusing speed was never less that 100. Max I touched without luggage was 157kmph, wch is way much than wht my stock bike could do. Shall be doing 1400 kms in one go next month. shiv18 : u did help a lot bro, thak u so much. I did a proper running in, and got my bike serviced every 500kms for 3 times, the only issue am facing is whn I ride 120+ for 250 kms thn I have to refill 100 ml engile oil as to keep the oil level at max. Otherwise my mileage and smoothness has increased a lot. There is slight vibration on the handle bar whn u spark the bike, post 2000 rpm that goes away just like the duke 390.
Not comparing my pulsar 232 to d390, but ive booked a 390 so kinda exited!!
For me I would say my bike is lucky as I havent faced any issues so far, i keep ripping my bike with in city everyday and boyyyyy shez one mad babes to handle.

100ml of engine oil consumption for 250 Kms is high.....at approximately 35 Kms per liter, 250 kms will consume approximately 7 liters...so the amount of oil per liter works out to 15ml..I think your calculations are not exact , otherwise you have serious issue of engine oil leaking through rings...

After that crack in the bore of that R15 and this incident with the bike. I sadly announce that Joel lost my respect. As I have been saying for long time, the perfect way to ruin a good working bike is to mod it.
I am back!

I rode from kanpur to delhi 530 kms. Next day I saw the oil level was lower than the low level infact there was nothing visible in the window, so I poured 100 ml oil ant it was back to max level. On my way back I refilled 100 ml at Agra 200 kms from delhi, rode all the way back to kanpur and the next day my oil level was at the max level.
If the rings are leaking how do I solve the prob?? Please dont say that I should get back to stock as the same thing used to happen with my stock engine. No offence sir bt am very happy and thrilled with this setup.
Thank you!!

I did not know that it is normal for stock P220 to consume oil the way you had mentioned ....if it is normal, then no need to bother ,except travel with 500ml of engine oil all the time and keep a check on oil level every 200~300 Kms.
