my excitement was short lived, as when going to pick my bike up from Joels mechanic, i was shocked to see the had dismantled the whole bike and the tank was scratched, half tank of 97 octane was stolen (claimed to be empty upon my giving the bike to them) and my stickers were all gone, as well as my confidence in this bullshit.

So far the 220 is perfect, and i shall be posting mods that im gonna do with MOTOZONE.

Shv18 Bhai, i lost my phone so couldn't keep in touch :/

      P.S. I was charged RS.2,500 xD
It is really sad that the list of headaches is only piling up. I suggest write off the R15 as a bad experience and go ahead enjoying your new found love with P220. If you are still up for hot roding and would like to get the work done from Motozone, for your own benefit may i suggest a few steps:

      * Go through the workshop manual of the Pulsar 220 as many times as you can. This will give you a proper idea about what are the various parts in your new vehicle and also what kind of torque ranges are required to tighten the nuts and bolts of your bike properly.

      * As i have mentioned before, please keep a budget for brand new valve train system and if possible a new P 220 head. This allows you to have stock parts to roll back to if for any reason you do face any issues due to unforseen circumstances.

      * Please bear in mind that based on my experience, what i have learnt is hot roding is not just plonking in the kits in 1 hour flat and then riding your way back to glory. It requires precision, calculations and a proper check up of the stock bike before going ahead with the build. So if you do plan to come to their workshop, please make sure that you give them enough time to sort everything out. If possible you can work out something with these gentlemen where they keep everything prepared and may be a ported head ready from their end which saves you time and money on stay. Donot pressurise them to finish the job in one day.

      * Carburettor tuning requires time and patience. It is not just about shoving in a few jets and then everything is ok. You will have to ride your bike for a minimum of 5 - 10 kms after trying out a particular set up to understand the changes at low end, mid range and then the top end. If a particular carb tuning is not working out, you will have to visit them and then get the next set up tried upon your carb. Good thing is as per my experience Motozone always encourage you to come back and give them the feedback. They will not allow you to leave unless and until they are satisfied with the build.

      * Unlike the popular belief, i would recommend to stick with CV carburettor and stock replacement air filter with a foam based free flow one. On streets and particularly for the touring bunch it makes no sense to go for a flatside carburettor which will only give you headaches and lower FE figures.

      * Please bear in mind that going for a shorcut of let's say only opting for a big bore kit and keeping the rest of the mods as an option for the later will not work and will drastically affect the performance, longevity of your engine and also the overall refinement of your bike. Don't forget about what i have mentioned about the engine being nothing but a glorified pump. To get the max out of everything, one should ideally go for all the mods at one go. If one is really short on budget on carburetted bikes, i feel one should first try the ported head and their version of high lift cam and changes in fuelling accordingly as stage I..

      * Motozone also specialises in suspension mods and i have seen some of their crazy work on Pulsars with WP USD forks, Marchesini mag wheels, braking mods and KTM swingarm with mono shock work done on a few no limits builds.

These are some of the pointers i could think of.. hope this helps is planning whatever you are thinking of working around with your P220 and in the pursuit of more power and performance.

Max I touched without luggage was 157kmph, wch is way much than wht my stock bike could do. Shall be doing 1400 kms in one go next month. @shiv18 : u did help a lot bro, thak u so much. I did a proper running in, and got my bike serviced every 500kms for 3 times, the only issue am facing is whn I ride 120+ for 250 kms thn I have to refill 100 ml engile oil as to keep the oil level at max. Otherwise my mileage and smoothness has increased a lot. There is slight vibration on the handle bar whn u spark the bike, post 2000 rpm that goes away just like the duke 390.
Not comparing my pulsar 232 to d390, but ive booked a 390 so kinda exited!!
For me I would say my bike is lucky as I haven't faced any issues so far, i keep ripping my bike with in city everyday and boyyyyy shez one mad babes to handle.

consumption of 100 ml per 250 kms is not normal. I would suggest get your engine valve seal/seats checked for any leakage and then do a compression test. If the engine is consuming so much oil, chances are the piston rings are leaking. Your best choice is to get in touch with your seller and ask for a replacement kit which i sincerely hope is checked properly.

I beg to differ in this case. Unfortunately all of the experiences shared here on xbhp has been related to the Tooner hence, i understand the general caution and perception about and against hot roding. Let my new found experiences with Motozone be told and a few others who shall soon reveal the new chapter in their lives on xbhp first being duped by the Tooner and now the new experiences after getting the work done from a proper tuning house (and not a Tooning house) with facts, data and videos which should put a lot of misconceptions to rest.

Don't jump to conclusion so fast please. At least wait and see, reminds me of how we fall in love with a girl, goes on for a month or so then all of a sudden we break up, then again we find another girl and think she is better than the last one and hope this time it works out. But this too falls apart, this circle goes on till we realize that those were just waste of time and money. Hope you get my point. I agree, some mods help, but some just ruins the reliability for good.
        I am back!

          Mate,

i have already mentioned about what i have to say.. i am not jumping to any conclusion in any way... I am not here to outright promote a kit from someone and then we go back to the same cycle of good vs evil of hot roding. The thread from the very beginning has mentioned about what is the good side and the bad side of hot roding. And as we progress what has been the observations noted so far..

I respect your views but at the same time i disagree on certain terms based on my experience so far that's all. Let me clock miles and continue reporting...

Anyways, All set and prepped for the short 300+ kms run on the new head and the cam. Have topped up the engine oil and the chain tension checked and lubed. Once, i am done with the trip, shall report back my observations on:

          * Engine Oil consumption at continuous highway speeds.

          * power and difference noticed compared to stock and RC

          * FE report for the mileage seekers.

          * Overall behaviour of the FZ - X throughout the journey.

Check compression with a comp.guage.. Another desi way is in neutral pin the throttle. If you see hint of white smoke coming from the exhaust and there is oily resedue on the exhaust then you have busted rings and/or busted valve oil seals.

When is your next oil change due? After you put in new oil and warm the engine, rev it to max and see if smoke is coming.. If you are using synth oils it wont work though as synth oils give very little smoke.

Mate, don't take the oil disappearing as a normal thing, especially in the amount you have specified, clearly there is something wrong, Have you checked the air filter ? is it soaked in oil ? check the filter box too.

If the filter is soaked in oil then the carb would flood with oil as well reducing responce.. Correct?

I was thinking like trace amounts, upon repeated cycles the oil will get accumulated in the filter and filter box wouldn't it ?

and about the flooding of carb, now that you said it am confused about that.

So can we rule out oil in filter box then ?
