Or a 600cc supersport for 5lakh upwards, which you can take out (practically) only on weekends and nights !!

The point is there is nothing in India currently wich can even remotely be considered an alternative to the Ninja 250 !!

We are in a 'beggers are not choosers' situation and we'd be suckers for that !!

well i am not fan of bajaj service owned pular for 5 yrs v1 and v2, as u r right beggars are not choosers so i had nothing to choose. I guess would rather go for R15 or wait for 200 version of the same or FZ but 2 lakh for 250, i wont, i was expecting 1.6 lakh, that would have been a good price for me.

well, was kind of kidding there

But I get pissed off listening to people who complain about petty stuff like commuter comfort & features on a track oriented bike... reminds me of someone's comment on R15 - kya yeh gaadi sou (sou hazar Rs) ka sou (sou KMPL) nahi deta? and people complaining that their splendour or CT100 doesn't reach 80 KMPH quickly and struggles to go beyond that!

lol in a country where ppl are dying for Nano (i am not), 2 lakh seems a luxury, well now everywhere in the world companies are preparing for both efficiency and performance, recently even obama requested companies to do so in the US due to slowdown and fuel prices. Its not about 2 lakh its about spending those 2 lakh are not justified in India, i could only use that bike to full potential on DND or delhi gurgaon, so 2 lakh become a bit more money to justify the price tag. Well being honest somewhat i agree with you, we do not need a ninja, there are no stretches and neither the traffic sense to handle it all.

But end of the day "paisa khuda nahi par khuda se kam bhi nahi" hehe above 2 lakh hurts at all the places.

My brain is badly grinded after reading this post of yours, but all i able to make out is that you are not ready to pay 2 lacs+ for Ninja and you have your own set of reasons to advocate the same.

No doubt that NInja will be a steal at anything below 2 lacs but even at 2.5 lacs the baby kwacker will be a good buy keeping the current market scenario in mind.
