Did the secondary earth wire mod at the asc, total cost Re 80/-The mechanic was sceptical at first but reluctantly did the job..what a difference this mod has made !! I feel like I am riding a new bike..Bike accelerates effortlessly in low end and mid range...yet to try on top end. Even the mechanic and service advisor were stunned by the improved ride quality and asked me to share the reference....showed them this thread and they kept all pics so that they advise all cbr and other owners to go for this mod. Thanks again shv18 and psr sir :-)

Please try posting this in the Owners Experience thread for CBR250R.Originally posted by Siddhanth Paul View PostGuys, I'm hearing a kinda weird noise from the exhaust area. You had not mentioned Year of Manufacture, You had not mentioned How many Kilometers on the ODO,...you had not mentioned the maintenance schedule...You had also not mentioned if bike had any accident where the silencer was hit ....
As to possible cause, the Catcon might be damaged and rattling inside ,from what you say..get it checked with ASCWhen Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

I've posted in the Owners Experience thread and got a similar reply of the catcon. I suspect that the clamp that holds the muffler to the bend pipe may be damaged. As to the other queries,Originally posted by psr View PostPlease try posting this in the Owners Experience thread for CBR250R.

28k kms done
Service done at every 7k kms
And no accidents, affecting the exhaust:D

Re: The story so far.. My Honda CBR 250R
In your previous post you had mentioned all mounting and fixing of the Silencer etc, and found them to be tight...If the Bend pipe to Muffler collar is loose then there will be Gas leak from the point and can be detected by black deposit at the place...seems more like catcon positioning inside had become loose...anyway check with ASC.Originally posted by Siddhanth Paul View PostI've posted in the Owners Experience thread and got a similar reply of the catcon. If possible, then remove only the Muffler/Silencer and shake it to find out if there is rattling noise like you mentioned. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Re: The story so far.. My Honda CBR 250R
As per Honda service Manual the recommended oil grade is 10W30.. Rimula R4 is 15W40 so using it is likely to reduce acceleration and Top end due to more thicker oil. Please remember it is a Mineral oil and may require change at 1,000 + Kilometers.Originally posted by rahulyo View PostWant to ask one thing. I have CBR 150. Is it good idea to do HDEO treatment with Rimula R4 on my bike?
To use Rimula R4 or not is your Choice. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Re: The story so far.. My Honda CBR 250R
I had not used this oil so far and perhaps when my Karizma requires a change may give it a try.
It seems to be a new entrant intended mainly for trucks to ensure higher FE yield through using thinner oil with required protection.. The MSDS is not readily available though general tech details are...Comparing it to the Rotella T5 , this oil seems superior in flow and TBN...Unless the other contents like ZDDP and Detergents are known, I am not able to have any opinion on the oil...
Here is general spec mentioned about the oil ...

Re: The story so far.. My Honda CBR 250R
While exploring the overall CBR250R experience in a few other forums, came across an end user from India Mumbai who had crossed 1,55,000 Kilometers in his CBR250 in about 5 Years, and reading his experiences just proved how reliable and trustworthy this bike is.
At the same time surprised to note that the owner had been using Rimula R4 and found it to be very good. The Engine Oil change interval in particular had been beyond 5,000 Kms most of the times...and the engine is still pristine...The engine has no problem with zero Shim noise till this date , and only the usual consumables like chain and sprocket,Tires etc., had been changed..
It is an Interesting and informative Sharing.

psr - sir, your post has just validated my theory on how long any good mineral oil lasts. I wasn't willing to contradict you and Divya Sharan without proof; well, we have that proof now.
I strongly felt changing a quality mineral oil at 1000, and a synthetic at 3000 kms was totally unnecessary and quite foolish, unless the oil is used for more than 6 months, but who am I to contradict the seniors? [emoji5]

If anything both me and Mr.Divya Sharan are open to better ourselves and the community in particular ,which will be apparent from our past posts, and the very fact that I had shared the info now....so do not be quick to judge our warnings.Originally posted by leech View Post@psr - sir, your post has just validated my theory on how long any good mineral oil lasts. The warnings were there only to protect the end user , since all engines are not the same, and all mineral oils are not the same. We do have CBR250 which had engine seizure at less than 2,000 Kms after proper run in , and now there are CBR250s raking up Miles beyond 1,55,000 Kms. We have CBRs with Shim noise problems at less than 30K Kms, and CBR which had done over 1,00,000 Kms without Shim change..So generalizing is not the way forward to learn .
Even suggesting a HDEO Car/Truck oil in a Two wheeler ,was considered Blasphemy some time ago , and ,it is only after some members had started using it that some of us had come forward to use it..If you would care to recollect it was me who had started this in the first place followed by Mr. Divya Sharan with acceptable results. Still there had been no Scientific study done , and so the results were only Experimental ....and so the warnings.
It is easy to cry " Eureka " I had found something New , than to study our findings ,put it through systematic tests under varied conditions , and come to a tenable acceptance of the application with due diligence .
Hope you understand my reply in good humor .Last edited by psr; 10-14-2017, 10:31 AM.When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.
