  • The unwanted attention is the reason why I stayed off bright colors and contrast on my riding gear. Have a very subtle Dainese jacket and pant set with internal armor.

Does it work? or you still get attention?
On a serious note. Bright colours are actually safer. Attention yeah! but thats the idea . Mines all black, save for the reflective stripes. Black was the only choice on the jacket I wanted .

          • recently i was talking with some of my friends about bikes and safety...most of my friends were not even interested listening to me as they think gears are just an expense and nothing else, added to that hearing about the importance of riding gears from a 18 year old guy is a waste for them i suppose!! Common replies when i tell them that im buying riding gears in a couple of days is.. "oohh, abhi tu woh sab fancy gear daalke YO banega?,ladki patayega?" Got mad after listening such stuff and got a little aggressive with the speech, proved my point!!

A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

Well i was fined from the 'bhopal police'' and taken to the police station in their 'qualis' forcefully. All this happened because i was in full riding gear. The explanation given to me was that '' I WAS LOOKING LIKE A CHAIN SNATCHER / TERRORIST '' . The issue was stopped with Rs 500 . I couldn't help it as it was 5 am and i was going for an early morning ride. Now i dont know what to expect even from the police

                  • its true..

ya u said the truth.. often during long trips . local riders even try to race in front of us when seeing us in safety gears.. for me felt it funny, bcz they are living for a show off, but im concerned abt my safety.. Here riders are alwayz ready to spent a lot for their hospital expenses after an accident, but after that they never think of using safety gears, not even "good helmet" to protect them from future incidents. they dont realize that they are cheaper than our present day hospital bills.. its so sad..

                      Lets talk about your rain-gear

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

                        • Modding a thick cloth jacket with leather patches along the joints and bonelines would be less conspicuous than a full blown riding jacket....but with at a bit of safety compromise.

                          • I never get this FEEL that people are staring at me..
By nature, I dont give a damn what others think of my way of doing things..
I just love my gear and am so used to it now that I feel awkward when I forced to go without them.

The only time I really felt all that attention was during my initial days with the FFE.. Now, I am used to all that.. I just enjoy the ride..
