Another customer of Joel here!!! I got his exhaust for the RTR 180...
When I initially contacted Joel about it, I was informed it would give a 10% bump... But then, I had my own reservations about an exhaust swap giving me such a gain... PM'd a few members who I knew had gone for it, and everyone seemed really happy with the product.. Did my own miniscule research on what a Free-flow means, what are its pros, cons, blah, blah etc...Then, Gave myself the green signal..
I sometimes turn Poser(as all of us do!) and I really wanted the Backfire Flame which shoots through the exhaust when dropping from high rpms.. I thought and still think it looks really really cool... It is massive show-off material I tell you ...
Personally, I had no problems with the sound.. Now that I own it, I like the bassy feel.. Am very sure the cops might not... But then, I m ready to live with that...(As I said... Poser!!!)
Anyway, I decided to go for it... It did take quite some time to arrive... When it did, I ran home from office to get the package and it is extremely light weight when compared to the stock exhaust.. (Trust me... I carried both for a couple of kilometres... I ll come to that later...) I even thought it looked cool... But then, that's my opinion... You can form yours..
Now comes a more troubling part... I took it to the A.S.S for the fitting... They too were quite enthu abt the exhaust... They were like "mileage drop hoga", "ye hoga", "kyon accha gaadi ka waat laga raha hai"... I did my showing off like "Its been built specifically for the RTR180 U no??" "This is MotoGP material U no??" and all that..
They tried to fit it and to my wild surprise, the flange near the engine head would not go in its slot... The mounting point of the exhaust and the footpeg bolt-hole were about 5 cms apart... The diameter between the Bolt holes in the Flange near the head were off by a couple of mms..
This kicked me up a fair bit and I immedietly called Joel... He seemed very surprised about it, probably the first case of non-fitting he s heard so far... He gave me suggestions on how to make it fit... a lil bit of lathe job... The ppl at the A.S.S seemed amused about at my misery and were sort of re-affirming their opinions about after-market products... Not what I needed at that time for sure!!
Me and my friend carried both the stock and the FFE for a kilometre to a lathe shop, instructed him on what to do and waited... Then we had to put in a plate between the Footpeg mount and the exhaust mount to hold the thing.. (as the holes were off by 5 cm).. Then, finally fitting it, we found that the exhaust was getting comfortable with the Swingarm, main stand and the rear brake hose.. Pushed and pulled on the exhaust here and there to get it away from conflicting touches and bolted it in place.. As of noe, it is bolted tight but its actually stressed, as it has been pulled down a bit.. (I really hope am able to get the point across!!)
The first fire-up was unbelievable... So freaking loud inside the garage, it got EVERYONE's attention...
Finally, after quite some work, it was ready... I asked the mech there to judge if any tune-up seemed necessary... He took it for a ride.. When he was back, he had this look on his face which immedietly told me my money was extremely well-spent.. He couldnt help spreading the word to everyone in the shop and now I was lined with prospective test riders... I am a poser, so I gladly entertained the requests...
Finally, waving everyone goodbye, I sent my friend home in an auto wid the old exhaust.. (No way he could have carried it on a bike!!)
Now, the anticipation!! Took the highway route home.. And man oh man, this is the part where I run out of words... It literally transformed the bike into a free-revving monster... I touched a 131 out of nowhere... It scared the shit out of me... (I aint a chicken... This was in the City!!) I was, and still am at a loss of words... A mere exhaust... Thats it U no??
To Joel:
Joel... Your product rocks... No two ways about it... True performance talking here... This aint any psychological gain we are talking about here... But, But...... Please talk to your fabricator... Something was messed up... The mountings were off not only at one single point... As I say, the exhaust kissed quite a few places... I m sure it must be one-off.... But, I was the unlucky one here... But man... You surely have a loyal and fully satisfied customer here... Am just in the process of arranging some cash for the big-bore and when I do get it done, I ll give you a call... (I am quite a fan now!!)

Aah, welcome to the clan. The " first startup and the expression on the mech's face" part- totally relate to it. Exactly same happened with me. Bliss!!!!
Be ready to scare the shit out of everyone on the road. Heck I am literally bombarded with questions at the svc everytime i go there. Even today, i saw people buzzing around my bike at the svc. Heck, even Ninja owners want this exhaust from me
You can take the ride away from me but you cannot take the rider out of my soul.........

Got my bike exhaust-ED and am completely happy with the current setup. I would like to list out few advantages of this setup other than the performance gain.
. Bike is pretty lighter now and i can easily manoeuvre it in traffic. Though zma's stock exhaust is a good looking one, it is pretty HEAVY. always a major concern while zooming through tight traffic.
. I don't know the exact material used in fabricating the exhaust. Whatever it may be, it take very less time to cool down. No annoying noise while cooling down which was there with the stock one.
.'LOUD EXHAUST SAVES LIFE' - ( an article i've come across recently). its loudness grab the attention of road users that means you are noticed on road = your much safer on road.
. Exhaust is fabricated very well(way better than stock pipe, especially at weld points) that even if cops stop you, atleast by looking at it they won't recognise it as a ffe.
@all those who are missing/avoiding this product just because of its loud nature- even with this exhaust if you want you can ride the bike at a sane sound. trust me you can. In my case if am riding below 4k rpm, the sound is pretty similar to that of intake roar with k&n which is not that loud. Exhaust note is different in different rpm. I can Assure that upto 4k its sane(atleast in my bike). With noticeale power gain and above mentioned advantages its double worth.
@Joel - Bro thanks for this wonderfull product. One thing i would like to notify that you should provede some stickers/logos/ hologram with exhaust. Each and every after market pipes which produce those negative horse power got one but this wonderfull product somehow still missing it. I think its high time to get it done. Whenever someone ask me which make is this exhaust, my replay is 'its tuned by a genius called Joel from ten10 racing team' but that is not enough. I think the product itself should answer such kind of questions. as you already have a racing team and other related facilities, i believe it is verymuch possible. And once its done please send the FREE
stickers for people like me!!

I think this will be enough for them.
BTW some stickers will sure increase the appeal of this wonderful product.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.
