so guys here is the picture of chain tensioner fitted on rear swingarm

the position of gershift lever now with1-up,4-down

close shot

you can clearly see from the picture the only thing i had done is to loosen screw of the connector and take it out, rotate it upsidedown(ulta) and fit it, tighten screw.. you are done..
i rode my bike after that and everytime before changing gears i had to think one time as gear pattern was changed. though i did enjoyed change

my suggestion is donot get it fitted, it didnot seemed to me of any use other than making horrible noises...Originally posted by thegeneboy View PostI can't go blindly without knowing anything about it and get it fitted na..

Since I didn't know what a chain tensioner was and you know what it is, I wanted you to show the pics (which you've posted), and also post the advantages and disadvantages of it..Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View Postmy suggestion is donot get it fitted, it didnot seemed to me of any use other than making horrible noises...

150/-Originally posted by pulsarized View Postguys i got my puncture fixed for 150 rs.it was done in the same way as the following link which was given by mr.geneboy.thanks to thegeneboy.he was not ready for any bargain and i had no time or choices left.
.. I had no idea it would cost so much.. By the way the kit shown in that link costs around 250/- @ J.C. road-b'lore. (Kit comes in a handy pouch and does not include the pliers for pulling out the nail and blade)

you are right it is worth buying that kit and fixing punctures ourselves then paying 150rs for just one strip..Originally posted by thegeneboy View Post150/-

i didnot see any advantages another than you didnot have to worry about slackness in chain and tightening it.Originally posted by thegeneboy View PostSince I didn't know what a chain tensioner was and you know what it is, I wanted you to show the pics (which you've posted), and also post the advantages and disadvantages of it..
Thats all....
the disadvantages are
1.) if, after fitting chaintensioner the chain is running too tight then it will wear sprockets and severe damage to gearbox internals as more load will be putted on each gear due to extra tightened chain.
2.) makes very annoying noise, i cannot handle it so removed the roller fitted on tensioner this morning.
3.)gearshifts were tight.
this were what i experienced about it.

Kit + pliers should not cost more than 350 bucks ya.. Plus the kit comes with a couple of strips..Originally posted by pulsarized View Postya its almost a do it yourself kit.but pliers are very much needed to pull the nail. The kit should cost 400-500 along with pliers. That guy told strip costs 140!
I see not many advantages.. so a big NO for this on my bike..Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View Posti didnot see any advantages another than you didnot have to worry about slackness in chain and tightening it.
