at times it shows a few grids or else none of them!
but largely,it is close to the amount of fuel presentLet the Man And The Machine Unite!

The floating chamber detects the level of fuel in your tank and displays it on the meter. There might be some problems with that.Mine too is showing error at times.Even if there's sufficient fuel,it will show 1-2 blocks. But when i start riding the bike, after a while,it will show 4-5 blocksOriginally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostHelp guyz!!

Regarding top speed last Monday me and my friends went for a road trip.
My friend is having pulsar 180 UG IV completed 2k km . i was riding my ZMA. During the trip we exchanged the bikes many times.
i tried ripping the bike initially it gave me 121 top speed and didnt go beyond that .. i tried 10 min later it gave me 123 but it was not going beyond that (my weight is 85 kg
)
Then my friend tried to cross 123 many times and once in a very long stretch he touched 127
(his weight will be around 65)
He was happy to hit that speed. i also wondered even with 17 bhp power how can a 180 do such top speed.
And the interesting thing i observed is the pulsar's top end is not that much affected by pillion (tried with 55 kg pillion ) .Even though the acceleration got reduced the bike neatly hit 120 with pillion but on my ZMA (2.5 years old) the top speed will vary if pillion is present. it will hit 135 without pillion but with pillion sometimes it will stuck on 120 while most of the times it will hit 125 and very few times 130..
that'smy experience with Pulsar UG IV ... in my opinion it is a very good value for money . Till this moment i am impressed with that bike but let me see how to performance after it clocked 10 k .sigpic

maybe i have a little more patience than you and your bro.Originally posted by shaheen View Postyou didn't cross 75???my bike has completed 1300km's and my top speed was 97kmph.One of ma friend rode ma bike and he crossed 100:X.Same time,my cousin brother, who owns a fresh P180 UG4 made 106kmph before the first service itself.Mad people

Something weird is happening with my bike.
I generally do not let it go to reserve and fill up as soon as the red light glows. And always wid 500 bucks worth fuel. A few months back I thot to try and check the mileage, I had not done so for a long time. So let it run in ON position, to check from reserve-to-reserve. As it turned out, it just dint start wen i turned the knob to RESERVE. I had to drag it to a fuel station more than a km away.
Showed it on the next service at Castrol BZ and the mech said, it was some problem coz i had not used the reserve since a long time so it was blocked or something. And he also said that maybe the T is gone and he asked me to try it otherwise he would change it.
Anyways, wasnt able to somehow manage to carry a bottle of petrol, coz generally I am in a hurry to office wen I fill up. So since last week I was carrying a bottle of speed with me,just in case it again doesnt work.
And it did not. Good idea to keep the petrol with me so dint need to drag.
But can somebody tell me, wat the exact problem could be.
P.S. After the red light came on, it ran for approx 100-110kms, wen my bike gives me an approx of 33-35 kms per ltr... so could there be a possibility that it pulled the reserve fuel in the ON position only.. coz not sure how much fuel is left wen the RED light comes on...
Any guidance would be most appreciated..Never be a part of the crowd !!!

The red light glows when fuel is below 4 lt in the tank and also when you hit the red line (rpm red line)Originally posted by fasterthanthefastest View PostSomething weird is happening with my bike.

I've absolutely no idea why or how did this happen..
Why Castro BZ and not bajaj outlet.. If there a problem they will have to replace under warranty na? Please correct if I am wrong.

yes as the reserve tap collect fuel from the lowest point of tank, and at the same place all sludge and rust are collected. it might have blocked theOriginally posted by fasterthanthefastest View PostSomething weird is happening with my bike.

reserve fuel line or another possible cause is that the fuel valve which contains tubes for reserve and main may have gone out in this cae you will have to replace them..
take it to a good mechanic drain whole fuel, remove tank,........ this is what your mechanic should do i think.
same problem appeared to me a few years back when i also owned a KB100 and its fueltank got correded from inside resulting in all rust hindering the path of fuel, so have to drain out fuel, flushed the whole tank and it took a whole day for it to dry out... ===== mine problem solved...

Btw I didnt like the Bajaj servicing from the start.. so rgt after the initial 3 free services.. have been showing my bike only at castrol bike zones .. frst in pune n now in delhi... let go off the warranty since starting n don regret it,, at least bike is in a better shape (the engine at least) than i cud have expected had it been wid the bajaj "engineers"
thanx a lot for the explanation...Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View Postyes as the reserve tap collect fuel from the lowest point of tank, and at the same place all sludge and rust are collected. it might have blocked the

hmm ... seems that could be the prob... ugh .. will need to take out a full day for this ... which doesnt seem possible currently .. will continue to not go into reserve for now ... n lets see wen i can get the prob rectified ... will let u know wen it happens...Last edited by fasterthanthefastest; 09-24-2009, 11:02 PM.Never be a part of the crowd !!!

it may be some dust particles get to your mechanic tell him to clear valves..
if he is a good one. it will take only few minutes... 40-50min
try starting your bike in reserve(when you have fuel upto main) by shaking here and there alot. if you are lucky enough this should solve problem....Last edited by abhichotu.abhi; 09-24-2009, 11:31 PM.

altho its a mar 08 bike .. so dunno if rust could be a possibility so soon ... have completed 23k+ .. n some of it on pretty bad roads..
anyways will have to check ..
btw .. if the main tank has fuel in it ... n still i turn the knob to Reserve ..does it use the fuel from the main tank or the reserve one .. coz i have tried it so .. n it was running fine that way ...
cud it be possible that it is pulling the reserve wala fuel in the ON position itself ... but it finished wid 1 bar still there .. altho i don trust the fuel gauge too much anyways ...
but .. dunno .. wat cud it be ..??Never be a part of the crowd !!!

Regarding Philips Xtreme vision
Hi Abhi.. I read your post in the Let there be light-UT about philips xtreme vision lights.
Do you have pic of the illumination spread at night time? Please post the pic if you have one..
Also, I believe it is a direct fit in the UG-IV na? Does this affect the battery?
Last question, whats the cost of the bulb?
