looks like every one buying p180UG$ are sonn or late facing accidents with bike??

what happened to all P180 riders no activity???
please comment on this forst guyz"when i asked SC guy to replace oil filter he said that P180ug4 doesnot comes with oil filter" have anyone of you changed for replacing oil filter pls tell
am posting my 2nd service experience...

first service was done on 762kms on odo..

this time(today), i gave my bike for 2nd service..

before service

the bike has 2200kms on odo and was feeling a bit rough when revv to 5k-6k RPM, gears were very notchy, abit vibrations appeared,rear number plate light gone caput, RH crash guard bent, rear,front brake making weired noises while braking(front brake was making a screeching noise even when i didnot apply Front brake)....

at 9:30 AM day:thursday,1oct09
during service
1) i asked them to inspect my bike as i reached SC and asked mechanic to find out niggles in bike...

2) i told him all above mentioned problems..

3) i said him to do a trial ride before i leave SC, we went for a trial, i asked him for any problrms he sees,....

4)after 1KM i said him to stop, took a 100rs note out of my pocket and gave him with a smile(he is mine trusted mechanic i gave him bike 2-3 times before P150 classic).. he smiled someward hesitated in taking but i putted in his shirt pocket ... he smiled and i leaved for home..

Post\after service

at 4PM

i called SC and asked them whether my bike is ready for delivery. answer from SC =YES sir you can come and take your bike...


i went walking (as service centre is only 1KM from my home).

reached within 20-25min at SC..

went to mechanic, but he was not there(he went for a bike trial before i reached SC)..

completed bill and other delivery formalities untill he came..

BILL= 180rs for VALVOLINE 20W50 oil that they used + 13rs for number plate light bulb+ 10rs for coupon..

untill the mechanic came i checked the bike thoroughly by just standing looking for any thing wrong in bike.

he came back and i smiled looking at him same was his reply and he said findout any niggles\problems now if you can?????(100rs magic)

we again went for trial but this time i was the rider, surpringly the bike felt butter smooth, gearshifts like a slice of butter cutting. no sounds, vibrations(even when rev hard above 5K-6K),But the rear brake was still making a flute type noise when i brake but i ignored it..

i went to SC and dropped him again two smiling faces(mechanic).(myself)..

happily i rode back home...

horrible experience with the SC guyz i had...as my bike was making bell sounds..i went there and asked them to adjust the tappets.and this was his reply "bhai,tappets adjust karnekeleiye poora cover kholna padega,aur abhi nahi hoga next service pe aahjana"

what the f&*#$ ? i asked him to tighten it ..but he refuses..damn thaat mech,iam going to city to get my bike fully inspected.

itz making horrible tappet noise..and pickup has also been dicreased..iam feeling that when i rev my bike during idle..there is some force restricting the free-flow of the throttle

how could you say that bike is making tappet noise, those SC guyz needed to be treated specially to get good work out of them,donot go directly to SC mechanics go to their supervisor and then tell him the problem .

i could say that because i had already confirmed it.i also asked here in help section.when ever i rev the bike above 5k or 6k it starts making sounds like tak tak,..and when u start the engine..some bell like sounds can be heard..

Hey once i too got to hear the bell like sound when the bike was about to get to rest.but it happened only once and with very mild audibility.then it vanished all by itself.

^yeah that does happen,today morning my bike was making too much noise..and i was so frustrated that i was going to blast off the service center ,watched picture,and when i was about to go to the service centre,.it came to my notice that noise has considerably decreased..so i took her for a spin..bike was like butter smooth..no sounds :eek ..dunno how that happened

Read many pages of Engine oil Universal thread and got more confused
So I am posting my query here

What I learned that it is not a god idea to shift to semi synthetic oil, before 4000Kms

So will stick to mineral oil for now

Which brand engine oil Bajaj SC guys use???

Can u guys recommend some good mineral oils for P180 (20W50) along with the current cost

i too got confused,sc guyz are using castrol,but champ has mentioned that its semi-synth so itwii not be good...

for newer engines if we use synthetic oils, then as these oils have higher viscosity then minerals, they will stick to engine parts more rapidly which hindles proper wear and tear, setting of piston rings of parts that happens during break in period..
so its not advised untill 3500-4000kms to switch to synthetics..

and you will go for 1st service that means bike has only 750-1000kms on odo, therefore no to synthetics at this period..

even if you use synthetic now, then the small metal parts that getsoff from engine during run-in period will be me=ixed with oil and at the next(2nd) service you will have to change oil===== total waste of money..

go for SC oil untill 3rd or 4th service is over.

no better options,all oil even if you purchase a better 20W50 mineral oil at greater price, will be changed at next service which is again a waste of money..

SC uses shell, valvoline,castrol(depends on them which they find cheaper+requirements of bike)20W50..

about the oils you have mentioned above i donot have any idea as i hardly find them in shops in my city...

hey guys.....was inactive for about 2 weeks....


regarding the speed of the bike....i never crossed 110 kms before 2nd servicing n was in a doubt if it could.....

but last weekend i went for a long ride(130 kms to n fro) with few of my pals
i could reach 118 kmph on the highways.....howz that....didnt try more than that....but i think it could do 2-3 kmph more

but i am dissatisfied with the milage....i am hardly getting 35kmpl

with what you have written above speeds of 110kmph,118...

what mileage would you expect from it??

mine is giving mileage of 50kmpl in cities believe it or not.. but i rarely took it over 60kmph in city my normal speed is between 50kmph-55kmph not more than that and both(me and ma bike) of us are happy living

not all the time i ride at that speed.....but yes i never maintain a constant speed...

does removing saree guard voids warranty?
