      I guess this should help.

What to check (PDI list) before you take delivery of your bike / motorcycle | Nex Gen Bikes

A small increase in size of the tire wont make such differences like if you shift from 100/90-18 to 110/90-18 ,you may feel small weight difference, but will not affect mileage and acceleration drastically. If you shift to 140 or 150,then your mileage will decrease drastically.

Just go to your SVC and ask for an oil change. Better to stick with HH oil during run-in. Cost is around Rs. 220.

                  • hello,
i bought my cbz xtreme digital(single disc) few days ago....
its done a mere 63 km yet...
i thing i would like to ask is when we talk about idle rpm do we mean it when the engine is just started or do we mean it when the engine has done a few kms...
my bike shows rpm of 1.1 when started however when travelled 5 -6 km and then put on neutral it shows 1.7 which gradually comes to about 1.4 or 1.5...
plz explain and all the other suggestions would be welcomed
                    thanks...

Firstly, congats on your new bike.

Now, 'Idle RPM' simply means the speed at which the engine runs when no load is applied (ie, in neutral and nil throttle). It doesn't specify whether its cold or hot. Ideally, idle RPM should be a consistent 1.4K both in cold and hot condtions. But in practice, it differs. Esp. for new bikes. 1.1 cold and 1.4 hot is pretty good and okay. Only thing is that you will need to choke it on cold mornings. Don't fiddle the setting now by yourelf. Once the engine is all settled down and properly tuned up, it would be fine.

                      • I am having problem with the the self start of my Hunk, sometimes it just doesn't start, the relay clicks but self start motor doesn't work.

The frustrating thing is, it starts working when i take it to service center or to some mechanic. The service center just touches some wire and give it back saying that it s fixed.

The service center is really bad, in the name of servicing they just wash the vehicle and give it back. Does anybody know any good mechanic in Bangalore for this problem. The bike doesn't have kick start and when in the middle of road it doesn't start I have to push it to start which is really inconvenient.

The bike is just one month old, Does taking it to mechanic other than service center voids it warranty??

I really don't want to waste my time in service center again as it is closed on sunday and i have to take leave from office to go there.

                          • Running Updates::1000 kms Mark!

hey today i had completed my 1000 kms mark on thee odo....!
feeling really happy to touch 4 digits distace covered figure on my bike!
Maximum Speed Touch till 1000 kms----59 kmph ( hopes dats gel with running in period).
average kms per litre (expected)----between 50 to 55 kmpl.
Now engine is feeling relax and smooth with every kms covered...but still i feel it will take another 500-800 kms to settle down.
vibrations can be feel above the speed 55kmph.
paint job done on this bike is not as good as we find on FZ16.
Engine smoothness and engine sound are the registered trade mark of Honda's powerplant i think....milles ahead of yamaha fz series...but yes fz is for RAW POWER and TORQUE!
GRS susspension does its job fairly well does'nt feel tireed after long rides ( max. 60 kms i have covered in one strech and 150 kms in a day!)
Every eye catcheee....almost every pulsar and apache rider ask "its NEW CBZ"....WOW...WHATS THE ON-ROAD COST!"
Very simple color scheme with NO-Nonsence Graphics like any other hero Honda Bike.
as per one of the x-bhpian advice till date i had avoided pillion rider with me....so these 1000kms are all alone covered by me with my bike.
Nxt oil changed @ 1800 kms...and then at 2800 kms (2nd free Service).
planinng to break the speed barrier only after 1800 kms with oil changed..hopes till then the engine will complete the break in period (kms) successfully.
Now Something About The Rear Disk---very very helpful in day to day riding.very precise and accurate in traffic.
Bike manages to stop in time when at speed above 45kmph....slight drama on hard braking.
Suggestion and disscussion are always welcomed.
                            Drive Safe...RIDE HARD!

                            • ... office work-load not letting me devote time to my bike.... rarely get time to ride it..... as for the rpm meter issue... I am facing the same problem and even before buying the bike i had read in some othr thread, some guy facing the same problem (sorry i am not able to remember who it was)... however in my case when bringin to neutral after a ride, the rpm goes to 2.5k plus..... thn comes back to normal when moving again.... i can't understand wat d problem is..... its really awkward, when u need to stop for a min or two the bike literally screams......I am totally in love wid d handling though... can't believe the bike weighs 149kgs... maneuverability in traffic is awesome.....hats off hero honda....

                              @bikecrazy
congratulations on completing 1000km mark... ... and also on the attention u are getting from odr bikers... ..... very true about the rear disk brake.. its absolutely essential... now for my request again..... ur fotos man.... very eager to have a look......

                              ride safe... njoi

Warranty will be void if taken to other mech i.e if the SVC people come to know. Warranty can get void for even things like using diff engine oil other than HH oil. Take it to a mech if he says some replacement is required then get it done in SVC only try to claim warranty. If no replacement then you can go ahead.
