Hi guys..i had 5 Lt petrol 3 days ago.OIL Knob is still on ON position,hw can i know dat i need to switch it on RESERVE mode and will it consume all the petrol if i keep it in ON position.

did my 100 kms today..very comfortable byk great engine ...took it up to 73 easily bt only once...
grs suspension amazing..engine yet to get smoother,HOWEVER IT Z GETTING SMOOTHER...hope it ll get perfect after 1st service...no vibration in my byk at any speed...
bt the problem is i m getting mileage of just 30 kmpl till now
wot i want to know is ....is this mileage acceptable in run in period???
but before answering consider the following 2 points
1.>>>the city in which i live in is called "muzaffarpur"....this city is too conjusted
and crowded with 2 wheelers and 4 wheelers....most of the tym 1 have to drive in 1st and 2nd gear....sometimes in 3rd and getting 4th and 5th gear is rare...most of the tym i have to use the clutch and brakes..
2.>> the day i bought the byk i oserved that it was nt idling properly ...when travelled for 2 km the byk idled at 3.5...after 2 days i adjusted the idling speed(by simply turning the idle speed screw) n now it is idling at 1.4-1.5
now u say under these city conditions is this mileage acceptable in run in period??
or is the adjustment of idle screw the major culprit???

Me too having the same scenario as urs.. busy road,plenty of Cluth-Gear changes..i had filled 5 Lts of petrol and till date its 105 Km, Ab to thoda sa bacha hai tank mein..pata nahi 130-40 tak to mushkil hi jaayega :P
waise guys,will all the fuel will be consumed if i put KNOB switch on ON position or is 1.5 Lts is always there in reserve?

considering:Riding mostly @ 1st and 2nd gear,traffic and run in period,your mileage seems to be fine for me.Always keep your bike below 40 till 1000kms,aftr 500kms,you can start bursting to 60 or 70 or 80 for a few seconds,after 500kms,vary your speed between 40-70km/s,donot ride in a same speed for a long time,it will help the engine to settle faster and If you need more mileage then keep it under80km/h till 2000kms.

If you kept it knob ON,you have reserve,If you kept knob on RESERVE,there is no reserve.

from d description of ur city conditions n d way u r able to ride in those conditions, definitely ur bike would return poor figures... however whether 30kmpl is justified or not can be said only if experiencing those conditions... but if most of the time u r on 1st n 2nd cogs while applying brakes n clutch it might b d real culprit.....
talkin abt d idle-switch tunin dat u made... sorry i cannot exactly say whether dat is d reason or not... but ur city conditions is definitely a major reason

i knw the Bike looks damm good but the way you capture all the pics makes her even more Hotter!
i got around 50+kmpl till 800kms on my odo....during running in period!
my average speed was 45-55 kmph....
SIngle Rider...mostly Highway driving!
so i think 30kmpl is ok type of millage considering your points!
i ususaly avoid city driving during running in period in order to avoid maximum use ofclutch and brakes.
after 800 kms i have extended my speed upto 60kmph max.
will try to be iun speed limits till 1500-1800 kms and then i again change my engine oil to gear up higher speeds!

150kms
350kms
750kms (1st free service)
1800 kms
2800 kms (2nd Free service)
continue....

i personally noticed the color of oil changed at 150 kms was total black compared to other used oil changed at different intervals.
