All these bikes have the same heart, with just the difference in clothings. Nonetheless the older ones (Activa and Dio) have been performing very consistently ever since their launch. Maybe its pure coincidence, but I would like to consider it as Honda Engineering. Rock solid.

I have had a rather bad experiance of panels on the Honda Dio breaking off form their points on the metal body. I have replaced the front panel once and have a feeling that due to bad indian roads a alot of internal plastic parts get broken resulting in loud rattling noises. Also i have seen many activa's with their chassis bent so that the wheels look completely out of line when viewed head on. Why is this a common phenomenon. is it because inside although the Egine and Cycle parts are fantastic Honda has neglected structural strength?

after riding my bike.. when i rode DIO.. i felt it is rock solid.. i mean, the shocks. got back ache just for 2 km stretch.
they need to change the shocks .. not at all comfortable.
also pillon footrest.. it is in the front for DIO.. short people hav too much difficulty in sitting.. front shocks have to be telescopic..

only thing i liked in it is its pickup.. very good.

This is stated in the manual. In case you dont have the manual, you can check it out at the petrol pump's air section.

I too had the same query, and unfortunately, the mechanics of the service centre at my place have no idea of the same. According to them, it is not possible. Besides, the shocks are not adjustable. Those of the Aviator are better than those of the Dio and Activa, but only marginally so.

Well, the mechanic should be able to do so. Anyways, there is an oil filler cap on the right side of the bike, just below the rear footrests. That is where we should put in the oil. There is a separate drain pipe mechanism to allow the oil to drain. As far as engine oils are concerned, I have used the Honda genuine engine oil and the Castrol Active4. Found the Honda oil to be better than the castrol one. Would be using the Valvoline 4t Synthetic the next time I am changing.

The rattling plastic is the sore point on the Dio. This is something which even I have felt, but there is no solution to these. On a temporary basis, my mechanic uses some rubber paddings at the place where the panels rattle, and this helps a lot.

The shocks are no doubt stiff, but it helps in cornering. Anyone with a Dio who has done corners at 60s can vouch for the fact that Dio is very agile and is corners with aplomb. Of course, when comparing other similar bikes . The Dio is at home on plain roads, but is not suitable for rough patches. It is supposed to be an urban counterpart of the Activa.

That is true...it's even worse when you corner the bike at speeds of 80kmph..we faced this while on a ride to escort the GIR 1 riders from goa to the karnataka gate..the bikes are very light and tend to get out of control..

Hello everyone... Has anyone used any performance mods in Dio? I remember someone in the old Xbhp having used a K&N air filter, but I did not get any details in the newer Xbhp. Besides that, has anyone used a fully synthetic engine oil for Dio? I am planning to use Valvoline Premium (fully synthetic) for my bike... Anyone with prior experience... please share... Waiting for your reviews...
