Unending wait for my Activa Dx
It has been three weeks & I am still waiting for my Activa. All the calls to Swarup Honda, Delhi have been futile.
Today, I dropped following email to HMSI. Hope something works out.
*********************
Hello Sir,
However, now after more than three weeks, I am yet to get my scooter. I am been told by the dealer that I can expect delivery not earlier than 15th of Jan 2010.
I believe this is highly unethical business practice by your authorised dealer, Swarup Honda. The staff is unfriendly & rude. When a prospective customer enters the showroom, he is not attended for several minutes. Infact he has to catch hold of the staff to elucidate any response. Any query from the customer about the product or booking process is vaguely answered.
I would request you to kindly ensure that I am either delivered the scooter promptly without any further delay or refunded my booking amount in full.
You have a terrific product like Activa but a terrible dealer network for its sale & service. If you expect to increase your market share in India, I suggest that you make buying process of Honda product a joyful experience unlike the present state where a customer is treated shabbily with indifference.
Yours truly

Went to the Honda showroom today to get smething about Aviator N Activa.
THe Booking period is for 30 days for the Aviator
and 90 days for the ACTIVA

It seems they come now with a 110cc engine as in change to the 102cc before.
I thought of selling my RTR and getting myself a R15(Booked it too).
But due to certain reasons i dropped and would be getting myself an aviator. Will be having both RTR and Aviator
Whats the avg feul efficiency of the Aviator?Sinfully sexy, Shamlessly raw, Explicitly Powerful. I'm Da Legend

Aviator is a very very good scooter. The new Aviator with 110cc gives better mileage than the old 102 cc version. You will get near 50 kmpl with sane in riding in full traffic. With highway riding at 65 kmph, it gives 47-50 kmpl. A mileage around 53-55 is also possible with light traffic.Originally posted by Addy43 View PostWent to the Honda showroom today to get smething about Aviator N Activa.

Handling is excellent for Aviator, especially with front bigger wheel and a disc from Nissin, couple with CBS (combined braking system). Ride quality overall is very good, except that the rear suspension is a bit stiff, which inturn enhances its excellent handling at corners. The rear suspension never bottoms out and rides better with a pillion.Originally posted by flanker View Posti have booked an Aviator few weeks back. i am told its at the showroom, waiting to be delivered.
hoping to be better than new Activa in terms of comfort, suspension and brakes (Discs)
Activa got outstanding response from the market and it is selling like hot cakes, which is why the waiting period. I am seeing more new activas than old activas these days.HH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler

I did test ride the new activa. The problem i found with it is that in attempt to increase the boot they have made pillion seat bit wider. this is very unconfy for pillion, especially for shorter people.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostActiva got outstanding response from the market and it is selling like hot cakes, which is why the waiting period. i would any day go for a old activa than the new one. One good thing about the new one is the central key unlock for petrol hatch. someting i will miss in the aviator.sigpic

Even keyhole shutter is missing in Aviator. That said, Aviator is better looking and rides better than Activa. The seat hight is higher than Activa and gives you a commanding position. The underseat storage is generous than Activa. The headlight beam too is better in Aviator. 6L petrol tank is welcome than 5.3L fuel tank of Activa. Also, there is a maintenance-free battery along with viscous air filter in Aviator.Originally posted by flanker View PostI did test ride the new activa. TVS Wego - New Kid on the block!
Read the raid test of soon to be launced TVS Wego in the latest issues of Autocar India & Overdrive.
It appears it is a better product & more value for the money than its competitors in the mkt.
Following features make it a good bet;
a) Standard lockable storage space in the front
b) 12 inch alloy wheels
c) Telescopic front forks
d) Gas charged rear shock absorbers
e) Expected ex-showroom Chennai price - Rs42.6K
Its scheduled to be launched during Auto Expo 2010. I am now having second thoughts now about my previous decision to go for Activa. As mentioned in my earlier post, I made its booking on 10th of last month by paying token money of Rs 1000/-.
What you guys advise
Regards
