well i have been using it for 2 years 10 months and till now nothing has gone wrong
its 21k on the odometer and it gives me 40+kmpl in city(in traffic ridden mumbai)
but if ridden below 60 on highways it returns 44+

have been using it everyday, but it wont start if kept idle for few days
yes its a gem and its my update
i may help if required(from my little experience)
and i use it for a little long distance journeys too and it doesnot complain if kept till 60kmph thats it!

i guess i was sleeping till nw
    its a 2007 model(2nd gen)

Whats would be the FE figures of the DIO? DIO has same specs like HH Pleasure it seems.

      What are the others buddy?
Ram, a full size helmet would just fit in the storage of my dio. But after that you would be left with no space literally. My dio has been reporting pretty dismal FE figures of 30-32kmpl and its ridden under the mildest of hands by my father. Its just 9k and 1.5 year old.
My friends (girl) year old activa (102cc) is also returning around similar FE figures.
But tunewise Activa 102cc was a whole lot more responsive than the same engined Dio.
Engine is butter smooth for both scoots but fail to lift me with my mom. Handlingwise I love any damn Honda made in this world, DIO takes the game miles ahead for scooters.
After sales service in my hometown (Bhopal) sucks big time with one of the worst response times to your issues.

      WHICH ONE:

I have owned an Eterno and Dio is the second honda in our family. Considering the latest lineup, Hondas scooters are unncessarily costly and this is the major concern for me.
Personally speaking, Rodeo is the best 4 stroke scooter I have ridden till date, engine responsewise though many would not trust Mahindra as of now!

Duro is a whole lot cheaper than the rest and boasts of some fantastic features.

Suzuki Access, although, is slightly low on FE, is the best among the lot. Sad part is that none of the Hondas have moved onto telescopic shocks which I feel is one of the most important feature one should consider while considering a scoot. (I guess higher end unncesarily costly Aviator has been offered with telescopics but am not sure).

Frankly speaking, Hondas bank too much on refinement and brand name!!!

I am a Proud owner of a Honda Activa for some 4 years now and man am i happy with it .
It is one heck of a scooty , it is among the tank's of scootie's .I can say that cause i have had a lot of accident's (most of because of the road condition's) and it has also fallen many a time's (newbie friends) still i didn't had a single dent .
I am soo far happy with it's performance , it gives me an average of 35 . It has given me undescribable joy and in return it just ask's to take it's care that too very little (I actually didn't got it serviced for a year and it did not give me any problem what so ever :O)
I have ridden the dio and the new aviator but i must say they do not compare to the activa which started it all .

having the '03 activa for > 72000 kms, all i can say is HONDA is proved in the scoot market.
Aviator is more refined than the Activa in terms of braking/handling.
Go for ACTIVA for that ultra-cool WHITE color else a BLACK Aviator will be worth the investment

Thanx for your suggestion. My choice is on the greater side of Aviator now. The only thing that prevents me is the luks. Let me see what my mind decides
The looks of Aviator is 'You hate or like it'. Initially I did not like it too, but started liking it after some time, and thanks that it is not a regular scooter type. The looks of aviator perfectly gels with office going executives.

I think you know that the price of Aviator is on the higher side. A 2k premium is worth or not, you have to decide it.

I have always liked the looks of the Aviator. It is the kind of looks that I really dig. But I did not want to be influence someone's buying just because I like the looks of a vehicle. Which is why I asked all those questions of performance, handling, suspension glitches if any, after sales service, (Mileage is not really a concern) and so on. Honestly, if Kinetic was a true and viable option, I would have asked the person to pick up the Blaze. But I was not happy ever with the Kinetic after sales unfortunately.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Kinetic Blaze was discontinued after Mahindra bought Kinetic. I had very bad experience with Kinetic Blaze and sold it for just 19k in 1.2 years. So many glitches which were not rectified by Kinetic. The ride comfort was awesome though.

I would love to see a 150cc motoscooter from either Honda, Yamaha, or suzuki in the coming two years.

I believe Aviator is a better product than Activa. The only thing which swung my decision in favor of Activa was lack of front storage space in Aviator. I understand that one cannot fit a storage dicky on it.

Having ridden the aviator and activa both i can say that aviator's engine is more refined but i don't like it's suspension and seating style , Actvia on the other hand has good suspension for my taste . Aviator has a got good potential but it doesn't inspire the confidence to the rider to use that potential whereas activa can be pushed to it's limit's .
                    Now You decide

Can you say if a new rider measuring 159cms, (5ft1) will find it tougher to ride on the Aviator or easier on the Activa?

Activa will be a lot easier than Aviator for a person of this hight. But, an experienced rider can manage on Aviator. A test ride would be more useful.

Activa is a lot lower than Aviator, which is probably Indias highest scooter....making it one of the most impractical ones as well (especially for gals)

                          Activa would be better!

EDIT: Just checked out the actual stats, Aviator has the highest saddle height of 790mm whereas for other scoots it is

                          Activa - 765mm
                          Dio -- 762 mm
                          Access -- 780mm
                          Duro and Rodeo -- 760...!!

                          • Honda Dio

Hi, fellow xbhpians.I m writing the review of my new Honda Dio which has been my steed for some time now.I bought this scooter in december 2009.
                            Looks
Personally i love the looks of the Dio.Earlier versions without the dual tone sticker job were ok but now they are even better. But as someone said beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.I let you readers to judge the looks.
                            Performance
Performance of the Dio is satisfactory for normal city commuting. The 102cc mill(used in previous Activa,Aviator) is a gem.You can abuse it but stillit is quite smooth. The acceleration is quite good,it can teach the 100cc geared bikes a lesson or two in acceleration. The top speed is around 85-90kmph,not sure because it showed 95-100kmph(might be speedo error)But the scoot is quite atrong till 75-80kmph after which it runs out of breath.Fuel efficiency is around 35-40kmpl giving a range of around 240kms(6 ltr Fuel tank),which is good according to way me and my pop ride(pedal to metal).
                            Handling
Dio might be a scooter but it quite impresses you with its handling. The MRF Nylogripers with the stock bike are quite grippy. The handlng is much better than Activa and other scoots in the market, which is basically due its tyre tread pattern and compound(Note:Activa and Dio use different kind of tyres).Youcan quoiite bend it into the corners and yet you don't feel that you are pushing the vehicle. But be careful because the stand and underbody panels touch the ground. The handling changes a lot if you riding with a pillion.
                            Others
As its a scoot it has some underseat storage which is good enough for keeping a half face helmet and even full face one but only small size. But never ever keep food and others perishable items in the storage because it gets quite HOT and you can only keep upto 10kgs.The seat locking system could have been better. There is even a hook neak the floorboard for small bags, but only 1.5kgs can be hooked.Brakes on the scoot are quite capable.
The rear foot rest provided by Honda are pathetic and are too uncomfortable, but you get used to after some time. But if Honda if you are reading this that is the thing you need to provide rather than more colour combinations and and handle bar weights, etc.
I never faced any problems from the vehicle till now.As i stay in Bandra, the only authorised centre is in Mahi(Om Sai) and service provided by them(Mechanically) is good but customer care is terrible. They say you can take an appointment but in the morning when you go even if you have an appointment then also you have to be in line with others who haven't taken appointment.I don't understand this, if they want us to stand in que why do they tell us to an appointment.Any way finished my 2 free services at them, after I finish my free services i will give to my local mechanic.
I m planing some mods on these scoot, would love all your suggestions.
Any ways I m quite happy the way this small jap is serving me.Damage done to my account Rs.43000 on-road Mumbai.
