    Yes
Little difficult to source the parts but they can be sourced.
Found a spares shop today and enquired about the airfilter box
He promised that he will get it in the next 3 days

    Let's see what happens.

Replaced fork tubes, fork oil seals and filled the forks with 180ml(mechanic recommended quantity) of fork oil but couldn't source the dust caps.

The correct quantity of oil for SZR fork is 240~250ml is what my service engineer said. To use motul 10w fork oil for cold places and 20w in hot environment.

I am getting new clutch assembly, fork overhauled, front brake piston seals and pads changed, new chain and sprockets, extra clutch and throttle cables, worn out nuts and bolts replaced, new set of bulbs and indicators for rear, carb adjusted, basic service, etc estimate is 6k at SVC.
There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

        240ml ??
Then 40 ml less than recommended level then the suspension will be little on the softer side I guess
        Correct me if am wrong
Clutch worn out on your bike ?

No idea about soft or hard suspension. He said right quantity is measured in mm of oil filled and usually little less than 250ml. Won't your suspension again take a hit if you fill less oil. I think mechanic filled 180 coz he compared to the pulsars and unicorns which has lesser diameter fork than our szr man. Just get it fixed.

How much did he charge you for forks and what was the cost of replacing fork oil and seals.

Clutch is about 50-60% worn in 30k km. He said it should last another 10k but I can't be sure when riding the Himalayan pass, the clutch plates are the ones that take all the load as we ride only on one gear. Everything replaced here are preventive only so that I don't face issue on trip.

40k for the clutch is too less in my opinion
I've never changed the clutch in the entire 60k kms on zma and no signs of worn out clutch
And a friend of mine changed at 1lak kms on zma that too it is a precautionary change and yes he had been to Ladakh when the odo was some where around 65k
Of course it also depends on our riding style

Right, wear and tear as per usage. Since most of my ride is in city traffic you can imagine what 30k km of slow moving traffic of Bangalore can do for clutch plates. I know my plates will easily last me through the trip but even a 50% worn clutch can eventually load your engine and consume more fuel while doing elevation especially a small engine bike.

Karizma has a bigger and heavy duty clutch plates and I think your ride may be mostly city-highway seeing the 1L km you say your friend did.

Presumably all my old parts could easily last me this trip. The entire bill was well within what I expected to cost for fork overhaul, bearing and bush greasing, brake seal and pads, bulbs and indicators, spark pulg, chain sprokets, clutch bell assembly and plates, clutch and accelerator cables, basic service.

I am attaching the latest bill so that people who want to see pricing for some parts at SVC.

How is the work done ??

BTW visited Bangalore wheels service centre on Wednesday regarding low mileage issue of a friend's Fzs
We met 2 people, they seemed to be like buffoons
One guy told that bike is old so less mileage
And the other guy told that he requires a day for checking sparkplug, airfilter and chain slack
Don't know how these buffoons work there

To my shock the sz which am using returned only 22kmpl

Will check again and go to the mechanic.

Work done is really good, infact attention paid to details like insert missing pin lock for wheel nuts, carb tuning etc.

Always ask to be approached by a technician person, if you feel he is not capable to understand ask for a senior mechanic or a service engineer.

Because most of those people who are hired for the job of taking bikes and noting complaints don't really bother. I really wonder why they even want to stay in a job if they are not interested to learn or understand.

They simple work like robots and this is pretty much the case in a lot of industry now including sales. Nobody wants to pitch or explain, if you ask they say search on net. Why then would someone Pay that guy salary for? To tell me to Google [emoji36]

What's the FE you are getting now ?

My FE is too low, it's not even 40kmpl as I mentioned earlier.

Is it because of the engine oil am using :-?

Changed both the tyres to MRF masseter today as the old tvs tyres were not gripping well.
Costed ₹3900 for both the tyres and ₹200 for tubeless valve pins

Finally was able to reach the world's highest motorable pass in Khardungla, Changla, Taglangla etc on the SZR without any modifications.

But there was a catch, the air filter box design on our older SZ models dont let in more air hence at very high altitude (16000+) I had to open up the air filter but I made sure to fit it back after I dropped down to lower than 16k ft.

Otherwise the bike performance was doable and perhaps better than other 150cc bikes like pulsars. The good low end torque helped pull through river crossings and the Michelin Sirac Street tyres gave excellent grip on ice, tarmac, snow, slush, sand, stones and all kinds of road and weather conditions.
