  • There are mixed reviews man, there is one guy in mouthshut who wrote a different story altogether,

YAMAHA GLADIATOR Review, YAMAHA GLADIATOR Price, YAMAHA GLADIATOR Mileage, YAMAHA GLADIATOR India, Best bike in 125 cc - yamaha gladiaor - MouthShut.com

Hope this helps.. i feel it all depends on how one rides and maintains the vehicle through out it's life.

But i heard some points that might decrease over all life ..

    1. Too much idling in traffic when vehicle is stationery/2. Absence of changing engine oil for a long time/3. Excess speed/4. up jetting/5. over loading the vehicle etc.

Finally Good luck on your rides, i know your's will last longer as you know how it needs to be ridden and maintained...

Yes, surely it depends on how the bike is maintained. I guess not servicing the bike on time etc will surely show its impact on the bore+ piston. Anyways only time will tell, how my bike fairs.

Btw, You had complained about the front shaking from left to right. Got that fixed? What was the problem?

      • Yes you are right?

Are you talking about the problem i had asked for here, the wobbling of the handle bar when ridden pillion.

If that is what you are mentioning, then i can say i don't get it nowadays, the vehicle is steady with a pillion, didn't know how, may the front rubber has polished itself to eliminate the problem..

Will update you after my 3rd service, any tips, advices will post here..

          • Stock(factory) setting of yamaha gladiator fuel screw in the carburetor

Hi guys, does anyone know the stock setting of fuel screw of the gladi ss carburetor? Guys please help, sc boys screwed my tuning. I want get back to stock setting. Is it 1.5 turns?

            Comment

            • ^^^ It wont be the same on every bike. I would advise you to either go to some other SC and get the tuning done or try this method.

              • Thanks prasanth, i will try. Service centre guys, all have chalta hai attitude. I think i will tune it myself. The mixture maybe lean at present, because bike is giving 58kmpl in city and engine gets untouchable even after 3 kms of riding. Have any idea. Only 4k kms on the meter

                • Yes Yamaha!!

Took delivery on 10 th Sept..Would have loved to have the Red_black combo..but that would have taken another couple weeks...and the blue- black is not tht bad too...So went for it.....Some snaps..

                  Few ques..
Clocked 200+ kms at present ..have kept under 4k rpms at all times..max speed reached is 58 kph at 4k rpms in top gear:

                  1. pulling in lower gears is very low.
                  2. a bubbling sound coming from the silencers when i pull in the clutch and let it roll..

                  any guidance pls?

Bike looks good. I prefer the blue one in the present graphics available for the gladi.
Anyways, the gladi does not have good initial pull( thats what most ppl say, but I find it ok for a 125cc). You'll get used to it. And after the initial run in you will be able to rev the engine more so that will help. I do not know about the bubbling sound from the engine. Just wait for your first service. Most issues if any would be sorted out.

                    • Hii there

As regards to the bubbling sound it sounds like the engine misfiring..almost what it sounds like when water enters into the silencer...happens when the bike has run a bit( at least 6-7 Kms) ..and in lower gears ..and when the clutch is pulled in..

I believe it has to be some prob with the fuel air mix..cos the engine also heats up pretty fast..i feel the heat on the footpegs within a few kms itself...Have read somewhere here in xbhp that the SVC ppl give a lean mix setting so as to show good fuel effi...Could that be a reason? is it detrimental for my machine to run on a lean mix?

Dunno whether the above theory is true or not..Would like to take urs and the other's opinion...

                      • Hi i wilbthe1,
i too have a doubt that stock setting of gladi is lean. I somehow found that its 1.5 turns of fuel mix screw in most gladiator.do check yours in a service centre. But dnt go after the bike tuning tutorial mentioned here. Gladi doesnt behave accoding to that tutorial. Btw my current setting is 2 turns and i m happy now. Also the spark plug color is chocolate like. Hope some expert will comment on this. Also my bike mileage is yet to b calculated. I will post when its done.

Are u sure it doesn't work as said in the article? I mean there might be a little difference. Jus asking. Because when i tried it last time it worked perfectly for me. Bike was both giving good mileage and was doing much better at higher speeds.
If the firing end of the spark plug is light brown, grey or tan then fuel-air mixture is most probably fine. Just check.

I am not able to figure out the word "bubbling sound" properly. But if my assumption is right then the sound is common. All gladis produce this kind of sound. Including mine too but after a few services the problem would be solved. Even mine has been solved now & the bike has a beat in it which is much better.

The heating problem is common i guess. Since your engine is new the metal parts would be rubbing against each other & cause friction which results in heat formation. As prasanth had already said after a few services your problem will get solved.

EDIT: Even usage of high octane rating fuel (premium fuels) can increase the heat produced by the engine.

                                Hii Madhav,

I definitely will try out the fuel mix setting if things don't seem fine after the service..
I am using the normal unleaded fuel...Try to fill it from the same bunk every time...
