guys i am not satisfied with the light of my gladiator so i had asked my mechanic if something could be done about this. He then suggested me to get coil rewinding done & told that it would not void any of the bikes warranty. He told me that i can fit a bulb of 55w in the bike after rewinding. He was asking around Rs.800 for it.

^^^ Yes, that can be done... I'll be doing it when i get some money, although sometime back i said i would not be doing it, getting really frustrated with poor lighting
... I don't know if you can trust your mech with electricals. But what i would suggest is to go to Ruby Electricals, Lalbagh Road. They are known to do the Job well and hence they will be a safe option. They will charge you around Rs.900. Also as you are already doing so much might as well get DC conversion done and also a Ape Rectifier put. There was a thread started by Shreeni on this and how he did it on his Unicorn. Nightwing has posted the link before, im too lazy to go looking for it
... Anyways, I have seen his bike in person and the lighting is excellent. He uses HID in his setup. Another member with a similar setup has 100/90 watt bulbs and that is working well too.
N yes it would void your warranty.

would the warranty get void even if i am not doing the DC conversion & not even opening the engine ??? The mechanic told me that the rewinding would have nothing related to engine & hence the warranty would not be void. He told me that he did the same on a brand new stunner & still the warranty was not void (dont about yamaha although).Originally posted by prashanth lobo View Post^^^ Yes, that can be done... The DC conversion would be a little costly affair so i would be doing it later on after the warranty period gets over.NOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT

^^I guess if you don't tell them that the coil is rewound they wont know
... But in future if you have electrical problems, n they open the coil n realize that it has been rewound, they shall blame it on that for sure. Even though that might not be the prob. They will i think then void your warranty.

Friends@: I found a strange behavior which i wanted to share and also get some inputs,
1. When riding with a pillion, at a speed of 40 kph or more i could sense a mild wobbling of the vehicle (left-right) that ceases when slowed down. The direction of the wobbling can be visualized this way,
Sometimes when you want to check your fuel level physically you open the fuel cap and do a left- right jerk to figure out the qty of petrol left, the wobbling follows the same horizontal left right pattern and is mild and noticeable sometimes and sometimes not.
When ridden single there is no wobbling.. pl give your comments,,,
2. I was told by SC guys that in order to keep the rust formation in the chain at bay, never expose the chain to water and leave it there without wiping and once exposed, do a motul lube immediately to protect it after wiping..

. But yeah i had taken out the number plate on the cowling & instead I had put a sticker on it. The number plate was looking very odd on the bike. The sticker job was uber easy as 123. Just go to any stickering shop & he will do the job in less than Rs.50

2.How are the tyres? its too thin, does it really have good trip? can we ride safely during rainy days, cornering etc the cornering is excellent but the grip might be less in rainy days
3.whts the mileage? depends on the rider mostly but 60+ can be easily expected

There could be two reasons -Originally posted by sriram_r View PostFriends@: I found a strange behavior which i wanted to share and also get some inputs,

A. the pillion is bending left and right
B. the bike has 50-50 weight distribution. So the front becomes light with a pillion. Hence you need very stable hands to handle the bike. unlike pulsar which is front heavy.
Haha. fortunately I ve chain cover!2. I was told by SC guys that in order to keep the rust formation in the chain at bay, never expose the chain to water and leave it there without wiping and once exposed, do a motul lube immediately to protect it after wiping..
