      Assuming bike battery voltage = 12V

      Each Bulb wattage = 35W
      Calculating Resistance(R) of 1 Bulb:
      Power(P) = Current(I) x Voltage(V);
      35W = I x 12 V
      I = 35/12 A = 2.9 A
      R = V/I = 12/2.9 = 4.14 Ohm

      Case 1: Both Bulbs in serial connection:
      R = R1 + R2 = 4.14 + 4.14 = 8.28 Ohm
      I = V/R = 12/8.28 = 1.45 A
      Power required by battery:
      P = V x I = 12V x 1.45 A = 17.5W

      Power Supplied to each 35W bulb = 17.5 / 2 = 8.75
      Inference: Both bulbs run at 1/4 Illumination, i.e. Reduced illumination as compared to stock, decrease in battery discharging rate 17.5W as compared to 35W

      Case 2: Both Bulbs connected in Parallel:
      1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2
      (Cutting the Carp)
      R = 2.07 Ohm
      I = V/R = 12/2.07 = 5.8 A
      Power required by battery:
      P = V x I = 12V x 5.8A = 70W
      Power Supplied to each 35W bulb = 70 / 2 = 35W
      Inference: Both bulbs run at full illumination with improved visibility but with increased battery discharge rate 70W instead of 35W.

      Conclusion: If Yamaha hasn't considered that users will be doing such mods, you are running towards deep shit (Dead battery + no kick starter + Middle of the night)

      Great stuff man!! I've noticed reduced illumination of the headlights in Fazer compared to R15 even if both have same bulbs. So I'm using only one light at a time.

      BTW, my high beam light is brighter than my low beam light! What can be the reason?

            Of course! The Fazer is not designed to run 2 headlight together at a time. So, the battery gets discharged and the light gets dim!

              Ok. But why the illumination is not the same? Even if I use one light at a time, the higher beam is brighter!

                  Both are Phillips HS1 12v 35/35W, the stock ones..

                    In that case, the difference should be minor. The lower beam spreads out a little compared to the focused high beam, hence the low beam appears weaker. But it is a minor difference. Else, maybe you have got some problems.

                      Well I ve got for sure.. and many times....and if that wasnt enuf, another strange thing is happening these days... Every weekend the air pressure in both the tyres get reduced to almost half the value... I ve checked with MRF, and they have confirmed (not once but twice) that this is not a puncture... what can be cause? Any 1, Any idea?

                          I've tested the light intensity while parking it in my garage. The wall was at a distance of about 1.5 feet (It's also clear from the headlight pic posted earlier). I think there's some fault. I'll get it checked by the svc guys.

                              The fuel knob will be inaccessible after attaching the R15 engine guard/full fairing I guess!

                              • And since the engine is air cooled, unlike the liquid cooled engine on the R15 i don't think it's a good idea to add the engine fairing.
