i would prefer to spend on Split seat installation then buying this Mesh Seat ,
    but its undoubtedly comfortable,
i think if you find in any seatcover shop you will find better options and cheaper too
so u say mesh is better than normal seat cover?, i do not want to spend on split seat or cowls as of now.

Btw performance racing say "nothing for indian bikes" though i have replied asking if some other bike stuff can be fitted on FZ.

    • The mesh seat cover from Yamaha is really worth it guys-I've seen it at Pearl Yamaha a few days back. So is the tank cover. I wish they had a good seat cover for the R15 too!
      Quench my thirst with gasoline!

No, you are going good mate.. Just stick to the service dates and you'll be fine.

          • Ownership story of FZ

FZ - the ultimate street and touring package..

            Acquired on 1st November 2008.
            KMs on ODO: 9610 KM
Longest ride on a day: 420 KM (trichy to kodaikanal and vice versa within 31 Hrs
Top speed: 114 on speedo (I am 6' 93 KG, with pillion 5'10" 75 KG, and luggage)- from chennai to trichy on NH45 (unforgettable ride)done in 5 hrs including halts.

Best mileage: 42 Kmpl, average: 35 Kmpl,(constant even riding on hills)

Service expenses:none other than free service and oil changes.

Crashes none until yesterday , when my friend dropped the bike in sandy road.

Pros: Best ergonomics for touring, best torque in the class, excellent road grip, braking superb, head light intensity high enough, excellent stability like a volvo bus,
Cons: Tubeless radials is a problem to fix on tours,(no disasters though),
bad fuel consumption, On small crash the hand bar bends, and tank, headlight, and rear tail gets scratches, Low centre of gravity and wide handbar makes me put more force on corners in hill station tours, often ugly F$#% fools steal of the attractive yamaha logo stickers...(ha i lost mine twice),
Biggest Cons: Makes other bike look like a kids toy when placed near FZ...haha....

Recent crash expense quoted : 3000 for spares alone.. Not yet fixed .
            The ride will continue...
            The legend will live ....
The destination is yet to come....
            My FZ will be back....

FZ rules... Planning to buy the FZ1, the true naked monster when its launched officially, and if within 8-9 Lak. Even R1 wont be as comfortable as FZ i suppose..(yeh right 2 different categories)...

                  • Yep,
@N-O-V-I-C-E, I have been a member in xbhp for long, think years ago, but then I had the Bajaj Pulsar 150 UG3, a dreadful, ever trouble giving bike. So i had nothing plus to write about it. Since i sold it off, and bought this FZ16 monster I have lots to say.
Anyway, I find lots of people feeling proud owning FZ, a class leader in Indian biking segment,
who knows,it might change like the cult in Royal Enfield Bullets, which people adore till date, since decades..
Yamaha should bring in more of its better foreign counterparts to us Indians.

You all people owning FZ shall i suggest us form a team and organise roadtrips, and tours like what Bullet fans do....
I am from Trichy, Tamilnadu, So people from TN can gather and go around the planet... (just a joke... really around Tamilnadu)
Will be back after fixing my crashed bike.. see ya.

                      • hi guys

i wanted to share something i did to eliminate the clattering sound when the rear tyre goes into the bumps, this happens with most of the FZs. There is a rubber guide for the chain and on the underside of the swingarm, there is a gap between this rubber part and the metal of swingarm. Between the two, there is a rubber pad but its not in constant contact with the swingarm. Whenever the rear goes into a bump the chain makes this rubber part hit the swingarm and makes tak tak sound. If you stick a thin soft rubber strip in this gap, most of the sounds go away.
Kingdom FAR FAR away is where I wanna be...
But I can't find a road headed that way.

ride within range of 40-50 till first service and after that, maintain <60 till 1500 kmph, then you can ride normally
