i hav gt my fz on 3rd april...
i find tis bike really smooth....
and guys i had some queries ....
and i hope tht u frnds cn solve it....
well first of all as i told its only a month ago wen i took ma bike...
and till now ma bike has completed 1500 kms and the 1st service is done...
cos' everyday i complete approx. 40 kms at minimum..
so will tis hav an adverse effect on ma bike???????
and also i m planning 2 go out of staion for 10-15 days... and so where do i keep ma bike so it is safe.. and wat precautions do i take????????
AND the biggest prob. tht its only a month and i think tht ma bikes battery is discharged coz' the bike doesnt start in a single self and at the nights wen the light is on at tht time wenever i put the brakes or switch the dipper with horn, the sound of the horn completely fades..
and wen the brake lights are switched off it come back 2 normal......
PLEASE guys do tell me wat do i do????????
i m really really worried.....

Hi guys, after few days of busy work, tried fixing the bike after a minor crash. But the mechanics in Yamaha Service Centre, at Trichy, Tamilnadu are totally foolish when enquired about anything related to FZ. they have no clue as to what to do with the bikes they intend to sell, imagine people becoming rich and buy R1 and MT01 and give em for service to these fools... ???@
So decided to fix my bike with my local mechanic. In fact my front suspension was never bent, (which the Yamaha guys said will cost 750 bucks) and the head light assembly and hand bar are the only bent parts.
Yamaha guys will try to fool customers be WARNED..
And by the way, the bike SUCCESSFULLY finished 10000 KM with no hiccups, or other issues.
Things to check ..
Tyres: ok
fork oil seals: ok
drive chain: ok
electricals(bulbs,batteries,self start,horn,security system,mobile charger): ok
engine oil:darkened(needs change)
Smoke or oil in exhaust(as in Pulsars blow in 10k odo): NO NO
Pillion comfort:worst(for slightly fat or tall guys)
Rider comfort: No pain elsewhere unlike back pains in Pulsars..
BUT
continued riding lead to excessive pain in my left knee and ankle, esp my left toe(which we use to shift gear)(and this isn't due to the minor crash)
is this pain evident among other FZ riders, please share your story ..
psst: I am not offending any other bikes.. Just my experience from previous motor.Last edited by thinkmms; 05-11-2009, 06:41 AM.

, congrats on acquiring the monster with the big butt(i meant the rear radials!!
)
Its absolutely safe to ride 40 km with ur bike since its done 1500... but any way follow whats there on the yamaha Manual.. Do not listen to what Yamaha service guys say to you. They will tell scary nightmare stories to piss you off.
Try to let your bike cool often, if you are riding more than 20 KM in traffic, and its better to go for long highway journey with recommended speeds than to mess up with traffic city conditions.
and also i m planning 2 go out of staion for 10-15 days... and so where do i keep ma bike so it is safe.. and wat precautions do i take????????Might be a fault with your rectifier unit, or loose wires. New batteries are covered under warranty, so check it with your YSC. Maintain the water level in the battery always, since our FZ is like cars.. no kicker, then start like dead car... Push and let go clutch under 2nd gear.AND the biggest prob. tht its only a month and i think tht ma bikes battery is discharged coz' the bike doesnt start in a single self and at the nights wen the light is on at tht time wenever i put the brakes or switch the dipper with horn, the sound of the horn completely fades..
and wen the brake lights are switched off it come back 2 normal......
Its recommended you fit any electrical accessories, like mobile charger, cigarette lighter ,security alarm (for creative guys, even a microwave oven, vacuum cleaners, super computers)
only after you check your electrical faults at present...
Happy riding askyashu

hi
maybe this will make things clear.
I hate the clatter ... of any sorts coming from my bike... and the only sound i wanna hear is the vrooomm... dhug dhug dhug. n no chatak chatak...
there is still some noise coming from the tapets, let me see what i can do about it...Kingdom FAR FAR away is where I wanna be...
But I can't find a road headed that way.

Spray paint for scratched parts
Hi guys, do someone know details about the spray paint for fixing minor scatches. Mine is the Black FZ , where and how much is the thing availbale for?
And as someone asked about fixing halogen bulbs, I dont really feel the need for extra wattage bulbs cos the default bulb is very bright for night ride. infact even truck drivers show me dipper signal when i am on high beam, it is much brighter than most indian bikes and mainly since it might put a load on your battery(ya, cos unlike other bikes which draw headlight power from dynamo, FZ draws from battery direct. so 60w bulb might kill the otherwise tiny battery of FZ..
ye remember FZ aint got the 7 amp battery like pulsar does, but a 5 amp one like scooty pep...
powers the bike from self motor to horn to headlamp.
I fixed two of pulsar's horn in my FZ, infact it sounds great after slight tuning of the screws behind the horn, it really seems sucking power, i find that when honking at night with headlights on, the light dims slightly when actually honked..
thinking how much it would consume for musical horns and air horns..
And i am seeing new FZ coming out with bumper , it sucks... really!!
The pure international styling naked look is spoilt by the bumber they fit in Yamie showrooms.. I know it saves a bone or two, and ur tank (fuel tank i mean)
But still let it ride in all its original glory ...
Since 6 months of happy zapping around tamilnadu with FZ, the only mod i had done is sticking wheel strips to the wheels.. blue one that is...
electrically i got a multi brand mobile phone charger(samsung, nokia large pin, nokia tiny pin, sony ericsson, and one more unknown pin)-fixed to ignition key, and a roots anti theft alarm.
I like to know about the Ram mount for our bike, with which people fix their GPS device, mobile phones, ipods, etc, like a clamp.. if i get it , i say FZ will be a SUV on two wheels (just an exaggeration)///Last edited by thinkmms; 05-12-2009, 01:29 AM.

hee hee, typo
its bumper(thats what they say here), crash guard , leg guard, or whatever in common terms...i didnt like that piece of pipe sitting there front of the YRCS(yamaha ram-air cooling system)fins.. spoiling its muscular naked look..
should be ok with pulsars, apaches, not with FZ.

Even I am surprised to hear that price... R15's rear was abt Rs 1200 earlier and now a days people are quoting Rs 1500 and saying prices went up. FZ's rear is bigger and is a raidal tyre. His information is not wrong as he knows the spares guy there pretty well.

Its definitely not a penny more than that...Originally posted by Lancer View PostCan someone please tell me the cost of Fz rear Tyre??i need to buy them
If its not the battery then ask the SC guy to rectify your earlier posted problems...it is related to the battery and it connecting cables....Originally posted by askyashu View PostThnks thinkmms for ur advice...

If your FZ's black...obviously white LED wud look good man...killer combo..other option would be blue..but would not recommend it coz its fairly common now...
Yes..you can change the horn to a little bigger one...but the air horns etc...are not recommended.
I do feel pain in my ankle but maybe its due to the new hard gears...ma frnds FZ has smoooth gears and he doesnt complain about any pain...Originally posted by thinkmms View PostHi guys, after few days of busy work, tried fixing the bike after a minor crash.
