Here is one request from my side: Has anyone fitted a ladies' footrest onto the FZ? I had heard one person asking for it, but haven't seen what it looks like. If anyone has, please let me know!
Now the next question is even better. Is the saree guard shape&size of FZ&R15 same?
Waiting for some pics!Quench my thirst with gasoline!

@spray paints
Spray paints will cost about 150 to 200 bux....
I just did my fz tank cover with a chrome effect spray paint and it works wonders thought the effect do not last very long due to this and that scratches.... but you can try out the other dull effects which might most probably will stay longer.....
tank cover gets easily scratches againts hands, clothes etc so a dull effect would be much better.....
I will upload my FZ tank cover pic soon....
thanks....
sorry bro Sarvajit, no answer to your querries from my side....Last edited by Devilboy; 05-13-2009, 01:36 PM.

thanks mr. Devilboy for the spray paint info...
and for Prabhakar , on wet conditions here in Trichy, i tried riding and found that the bike's stability is still rock solid, and the breaking is not much different than normal dry conditions.
BUT, in rainy days, the back tyre, does splash a lot of water to vehicles coming behind us, and very dirty part is , the water splashes to the pillion's back too, i tried to maintain atleast 40 kmph, but still , water reached my friend (pillion) back, and even his head... he was full of dirt and sand after the ride..
the rear mud guard is not properly designed for wet seasons.

My pain in the left ankle, is evidently increasing by the day, doctor said, i should try using shoe for gear shifts.. I normally use sandals (ventilated feel)- with toe exposed, meaning i shift my gears with my exposed toe only...Originally posted by N-o-v-i-c-e View Post
I do feel pain in my ankle but maybe its due to the new hard gears...ma frnds FZ has smoooth gears and he doesnt complain about any pain...
so i must wear a shoe and check the difference.
and yes the gear shifts are slightly harder, but at every service it softens.

Yes, but still it only protects riders pants from water and dirt, not the pillion.. or ur back.. try this experiment:Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostThe rear mudguard is too short, thats why. But I thought the tyre hugger does make up for it?
in ur garrage (make sure no one is behind the bike) put ur FZ in main stand, and start engine and make it role on 2nd or 3 rd gear ... try spraying water with hose or something and try accelerating, see how far the water flies over..!!!

Then the R15 is better off in that aspect.Originally posted by thinkmms View PostYes, but still it only protects riders pants from water and dirt, not the pillion.. or ur back.. try this experiment:

I dont know about R15, but rear fender seems long enough to avoid water splashes in wet roads..Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostThen the R15 is better off in that aspect.
what exactly u mean, is it the tyre or the rear fender??I've a 220.

Rear Tire!!!!Originally posted by thinkmms View PostI dont know about R15, but rear fender seems long enough to avoid water splashes in wet roads..

Wanted to check the feel of the rear Tire on the Bike in WET conditions.
I'm planning to change the rear tire by the onset of Monsoon.
It has lot of grip but I'm planning a 2000-2500 km trip in the monsoon so wanted to change it b4 the trip.
A VERY VERY WET RIDE IN THE WESTERN GHATS!!!!sigpic

@tyres
well as physic explains..
.. the more the surface area of the tyres in contact with the road the more the friction and hence the better the grip of your typres. So FZ rear tyres will have better grip over dry road as well as wet road. But again it depends on the thread of the tyres. The more those threads, the better the grip.
As compared to bajaj's rear tyres, the threads of fz is lesser but due to its wide tyres its fine and good for the wet roads too.
Well for sure, the rear tyres does creates a lot of dirt and water being sprayed on the motorist behind...and for this reasons, my biker friends don't ride behind me....hahhahahha... Some time back while riding on a gravel road, with my friend following me, a small gravel thrown by the rear tyre just hit his helmet....hahhaha....thankfully he wore the helmet otherwise it might have hit his face.....lol.....

I agree with Sarvajit regarding the water splashing the back of the rider....it does creates a hell lot of dirt....
But do you think pulsar's 200 swing arm can fit this 140 size tyre?
And ya here's the pic of my FZ tank cover, sprayed with Chrome effect paint. Well the last two pic is of my Monster's Arse (FZ tail view) after taking off the tail cover which contains the Yamaha logo.Last edited by Devilboy; 05-13-2009, 07:11 PM.
