if your living and riding in a city like Mumbai then you have everything to worry about in Mumbai. . my main concern is the chain (i am looking for a guard in the market, will post something if i get any information) . at the same time, i hope that a Instrument cluster cover is also maid available. (Monsoon, and those darn kids who like fiddling with it)

what he meant was, changing the suspension settings to more stiff/Hard would mean only to have less hits on bumpier roads at speeds greater than the ones needed to tackle them.

Medium is the best. as hard would mean trouble for solo rides.

Very correct! I asked my mechanic after he was done with the first service to adjust the monoshock to medium setting, He adviced me not to fiddle with them till first 3 months, let them adjust their tension (since they'll xpand and retrieve), and only then go for any adjustments if reqd!
So we better wait till some time...

contact your dealer or a service center.. if you haven't received it during purchase you will need to buy one. Rs 400-600 depending on the city.

                    • Hi,
I just got my Flaming Orange FZ 16! Got it from another City 170 Km from my own place... came riding it all the way! Its very good! TOugh time keeping it below 50 Kmph! Revved it to 80kmph a few times though! I noticed the following...
                      1. Front disc brake makes some slight electronic sound when used - is this normal? sorry, no experience with disc brakes.
                      2. I feel the gear shift is hard - new to toe shift too.. will this soften with time or should I get it checked?

                      on the positive note...
Initially I was disappointed with its beat in lower gears... but soon fell in love with it! It exudes refinement and confidence!
The seat is very comfortable, just for some back ache and wrist ache - normal if I ride 170 Km non-stop(pardon small brakes) for almost 5 hours!
A head turner! Indeeed a head turner! Even a few car guys stopped to enquire about it!

P.S:- A showroom is going to open next month in my city - planning to get its first servicing here. Should I be worried abt the lil troubles I mentioned?

                        1. the front disc sound is normal.
                        2. you will get used to it. its typical yamaha. let it do its job.
                        3. riding position.: try new positions. you will find the right one and get comfortable. slide more towards to the front so you dont put your body weight on your wrist, shoulders and back.
                        4. dont forget to watch WorldSuperbike series starting on 1st march.

Liked the wisecrack in the 4th point. It should be included in the owners manual too and updated every year

                          • Thanks a lot for clearing those up! And sure will watch it!

and is there any alternate place where I can fix my front number plate... it sure is awkward over the headlight...
And must I go out now and buy a chain cleaner and a chain spray?

                            • well with regards to the front License plate. creativity has no boundaries. i have seen many paint their front fender with the lic no. but keep in mind if you break traffic rules or pulled over by a Traffic Police. they have the right to fine you for your creativity. as in INDIA it does not matter.

                              ride safe.

the point you made about the chain guard is what i had bought up some threads back. we will need it especially in the monsoon and all that offroading that will happen.

                              cheers.

                                Hi Guys,

Remember I posted few days back regarding the Digiometer being stalled and becoming completely Ineffective in one of my frns FZ.

The newz is that Yamaha has indeed accepted the fact that the digiometer are faulty (not all).. and are ready to replace them.

The showroom owner in Pune has confirmed that this has happened in atleast 3 cases (who have had booked bike from him)..

well, lets hope, it doesnt happens to us!
