It could also be the clip that holds the speedometer or disc brake cable in place at the front wheel.
Well, You may be correct but what I felt was that this vibration is pretty Random sort of and occurs at almost any RPMs.

This is more particular at somewhat high RPMs. Lets see what mechanic has to say regarding this but this is actually restricting me in attaining good acceleration.

I'm feeling a bit ignorant here. Though i dont remember the cost of these for my bike, but are we talking about a set of bearings coming for 300 or one each for Rs 300?

For me it happened at higher rpms when the vibrations in my bike increased a lot, in your case I'm not sure then as to what problem might be, but i think you can check for whatever soulstation has said since it sounds more logical with relation to whatever you've said before and added after that.

      • the biggest thing that we (FZ) owner are dealing with:

if you do get a chance fit an Chain Guard. FZ does not come with it. since its greecy and our city's are super dusty, muddy [ Your most seen often on the road word here ] it attracts a lot of dust which then spreads to the wheel and gearbox thins causes it to loose the smoothness on the bike.. its not a dirt bike remember that. though i use it like a supermoto. just make sure to clean it when serviced.

If you ride with a pillion more often than other. change your suspension to HARD. especially the MONOSHOCKS. though the ground clearance it quite good. Soft settings are not good to carry lot of weight and to get away without hitting your ass hard on a speed trap (in mumbai its more like a mountain).

more tips coming later.. im still quite new to my FZ.

          • the crash Guard is available at the dealer. or at the service center. if you are buying on then ask your dealer to put this as part of the package.

I am riding the beast for little more than 2 months so I can't give a long term review & I suppose nobody will as it is a new bike, but we have our faith in YAHAMA, any way my version is...........
Mileage : giving me 35-40 in city cond.
Style : awsum no question about it.
              Comfort :good
Reliablity : As per YAHAMA standard it should not be a prob.
Driving exp : It is purely a city bike, top end speed is not sky touching but as the torque figures are good,so city riding is very comfy.

Drawbacks : Mileage should have been little better for a 150 + cc byke., Pillion seat is a bit narrow, Ground clearence may be little less for our Ind. road can be tackled with suspension setting.

exactly what i had mentioned earlier, this you will need to decide as per conditions.
                - daily route, avg speed, highway or twisty s, condition of roads and the off roading factor to avoide traffic.

                • in nepal ...more than 500 booking for fz16 has been canceled ...dont know the reason ..heard its gives only 25-35 in ktm road which is too much for 150cc bike..sound in disk brake...i got it conformed from brother working in morong auto works authorized dealer for yamaha in nepal....

I drive mostly on Pune Highways with a pillion (my GF), just 45 kgs, .
Shez fine with the monoshocks but says that pulsor's 1 were more comfortable..

Should I change the settings? I havn't change the settings since i bought the bike and i would like to know the dafault setting as well..

Is it really a necessary to get Chain Guard and Leg Guard fitted?

by default the suspension is set to soft. (speaking in my case) on your above statement we will need to consider your weight too. Medium should be fine.

the plusar has a much flattend seat as compared to the FZ. the FZ is not your normal commuter. this yamaha has stated right at the beguining before the launch of even the R15 as well. hence she feels the seat uncomfortable even my women friends complain and like my Fazer batter.

the biggest test for the R15 and the FZ16 will be the monsoon and that will give you the real spreadsheet..

.. But why is this so? Why are you looking bothered by Monsoon? Anything to worry about?

Forgive my ignorance if i'm wrong, but how can tweaking around with the suspension settings increase the ground clearance? Making it softer or stiffer would only modulate the suspension travel for the coil spring to the best of my knowledge and this would alter the handling and the riding comfort.
