one thing I feel bad is, the 2nd and 3rd gears are very short... I often find myself changing between 2, 3 and 4 in traffic -- very irritating-- when I am supposed to be a Lord of the street!

The bike zone mechanic I know advised me NOT to use power/speed petrols during run-in period. He said they produce higher temperatures which is not very good for engine during run-in period. I am sticking to simple un-leaded petrol for sometime..._____________________________________________

The gold colored parts look quite classy, but putting all of them on one bike will be like wearing gold rings on all 10 fingers. Just the brake and clutch levers will look coolOriginally posted by gd76 View PostWhat's with the YAMAHA guys, are they trying to compete with RAP ARTISTS ? The bike looks neat as it is, why all the chamak dhamak ? Only the tail lamp looks okay. They are just RAPING the bike.

Hey guys can you please answer the question below
can that number plate be removed from it's head to between head and tire ?
how much it will cost to get a better looking headlight for it ?Riding, loving and enjoying my lord of the streets.. FZ-S...

Agree with you on the headlight... its cool!Originally posted by skipper View PostKrates : I think the current headlight looks fantastic. Any road side mechanic will remove the front number plate for you.
You can have the registration number stickered on the front mud-guard
Do you have any pics regarding the stickering on front mud guard? I have the same dilemma... I dont think front mudguard is a good place...._____________________________________________

some times the gear lever only moves (like spring) but does not fall in gear
end up getting confused witch gear i am in .
ALSO sometimes while the bike is stopped fully in signal ,gear does not fall in to 1st from 2nd. is this my bikes problem or this is typical yamaha gearboxsigpic

Hi Anirudh,
I've had the issue a few times but its usually when shifting from neutral to 1st or 2nd.When i shift from neutral to 2nd,the gear engages but falls back to neutral.I've given it for my 1st service today, will update if this still occurs
Thanks

the question of mileage has come up so many times. and i was waiting for this day untill i got my friends FZ16 2nd service done.
i ask all those who own FZ16 and try to rule the road from the day the got their hands on FZ16... whats the speed u drove before the first service and whats the speed u drove after the first service.
the average speed before 1st service should be not more than 55kmph. and even if u do exceed 55kmp, u should vary the speed such that u dont put pressure on the engine. and after 1st service.. its a limit of 75kmp.
my friend maintained the same and now he is getting 55kmpl!! now he and me drive in high speed but still dont find much drop in the mileage. and that what the technician said at the pearl yamaha!!
and one more thing....
the upgrades for FZ16 r to be released on 3rd Feb. could get more info other than that there r air intake systems, brake calpers, handle clips and foot rests. there might be more he said. lets hope they have engine upgrades also.
