i have bought the mesh cover and its pretty good only problem is heavy rain, i cannot wipe seat off but in summers its good. i do not think teflon coating is done by default, there is no sticker after coating, some local comes over and does some white liquid type polish on all over your bike from container, with sponge roller i saw it at some yamaha showroom being done, my car has teflon coating you can notice an additional sheen on black car but no sticker even there. I use Formula 1 polish spray, works pretty neat i use it for my DSG jacket too

          • Fuel Indicator..

hey guys..Im in deep troublr here(real deep)..

I had petrol worth around 500rs in my bike and went out of town for around 4 days..(60kms on odo on the bike then) so the bike was still for the whole 4 days..

After i came back i went out for a ride and when i looked at the fuel indicator it was blinking(saying its in reserve) and i was obviously flabbergasted

Either my fuel indicator has gone faulty or someone has stolen petrol from my bike..

I dont know what to do now guys.. Even if its a case of stolen fuel(is something like that possible..? i dont know) how can i prevent it from happening in the future..

Did anyone of you have problems with your fuel indicator?

PS: The fuel indicator showed full(5 bars) when i filled in the fuel so the petrol walla could not have cheated me..

u tired opening the tank cap and looking inside?
i mean if you filled for 500rs it means its should be a full tank,so you can easily see the fuel.

It is not full but there is some fuel inside.. But the level is below the thin rod like thing..

About FZ I am not sure whether there is fuel pipe (usually a rubber tube) is externally visible and easy to leak the petrol from there, like what mostly happens with old bikes.

Well whr did u parked ur bike? if in some public area then try to get some parking space somewhere in house or ....

Dude , the FZ16 is known to have some inaccuracies regarding the fuel level , did you notice how much fuel went into the bike , 500rs is almost full tank , you could've seen the level easily ( definitely above the thin rod line ) , so if this is the case , then fuel has been stolen ... Yes fuel can be stolen , happened on my pulsar v1 after which i put in a fuel lock ( the one with key ) dunno if it helped or not but fuel was never stolen again from the bike . Check with your SVC anyway, some people have got their gauges replaced .
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

It's nothing man ... inplace of where you have the lever to switch on/off the fuel , you'll have a lock and a key to do the same , JC Road is where you will need to go ...
