humm it worked for me and still working, may be your bike has some X-tra Rich Mixture Setting,
you should go for Carb tuning...

I am up against a big trouble...

Few days back i posted on this thread regarding facing problems of multiple punctures in rear tyre.

      The problem has worstened now.

MRF service station guys have told me that a tube cannot be placed inside the tyre since MRF doesnt have a tube of this configuration.
bro putting a tube will make condition worse,
because if tyre is Puncture Prone (as you said) you really don't like to drag your 126+ kg bike to Puncture Repair Shop,

with tubeless one you can ride up to 50 kms (depends on Size of punc') and even repair it on your own, without even removing the tyre,
      --------------
I had a word with a guy working in MRF,
he said occurrence of puncture is depends on air pressure,
if its lower or Very higher then the Recommended one, then it will occur more then normal.
I did an almost 3500 kms tour, that too with two nails @ rear Tyre, without any new puncture,
reason, i maintained perfect air pressure ( i prefer 40 psi)

50kms after puncture is that so
yamaha recommends 28-33(front-rear), 40psi looks like higher air pressure, as you said (if its lower or Very higher then the Recommended one, then it will occur more then normal) there could be chances for more punctures???

as i said i still have 2 nails in rear tyre,
so to match the air seeping rate, get it filled bit higher,
@my svc they are ured too oe giving me bike with 50 psi!!!!

50 km is just a small round figure,
i rode my bike 67 kms, to find a tubeless punc' repair shop

              • tyre pressure

keeping the right pressure is obviously very important...when i was filling up mines with N2,i filled them up with 35 at the rear and 30 at front according to what the showroom guy told me.but during the ride back home,it was very much noticeable that the ride had become a lot bumpier and the tires looked stressed and balloon-like-inflated as well..also,a really enormous decrease in pick up was also felt...i took it back, and filled it properly to 33 and 28 like what the manual and the sticker on the bike instructed me to.everything got better after that.guys, would K&N filter increase top end speed..? if so,which is the one i should go for..? i am an absolute newbie...
                In the end,it does matter.

wow...awesome....what was your average speed and how economic was it...(i mean the mileage that you got)...also,did any wngine heating up issue arise...?

                  • hey bud , I don't think installing only K&N is going to help you ,it will make your engine run leaner and probably damage it in the long run ... so If you really want to get it done , then you have to consider upjetting your carb ... all this for a small increase in power is not worth it I think , but that's just my opinion ...

average speed was somewhere near 70,
as sometimes i rode like 10 kmph, and sometime ripped till 127 (last point to reach @ my FZ)

can't say much economical but 45+kms/ltr is not bad though,

                      worst i got was 35.xx
heating up was not an issue as I took 15 minutes /100 kms break,
so it has quite a lot time to cool down...

                      • @risswwin : The thing here is people spend loads of cash for an air filter , then upjetting the carb and free flow exhausts and iridium spark plugs , all for a small bump in performance , you want to do do it , go ahead , but like I already said , I do no think it's worth it . No offence to anybody who have done it ...

                        Peace

dont want to do it that bad,dude...just wanted to know if that was in anyway getting the top end stretched...all the revs but not much torque at the top end is sometimes a little disappointing...but below that, its all worth it..thanks for the concern,guys.appreciated..

I guess the ideal thing is to experiment with the FZ's sprocketting and make the gearing a lil taller for top end performance rather than any of the engine, air filter or exhaust mods. But we need some expert advise on this. I hope some expert tuners here like Joel thows some light on this.
