Hi All,
I bought my FZ this month start and I must admit that I am very new to this community.
As far as these 3 weeks are concerned, I'll have to say that bike gave me more than what i expected (including average that is 40 before first service).
Reading the subsequent posts, I ve found that some of the FZ owners are finding a problem of Insufficient lubrication in chain which causes noise. I havn't experience much of this but certainly noise has increased a little.
Is it a kind of Problem?SAVE TIME....SEE IT MY WAY

Which service center was it? my friend just got FZ he says best service center is on J.C. Road, bangalore. He has also bought a kit for 3k to change tank cover etc to a different color.Originally posted by chetanpulsar View PostThe service quality was a nightmare.... gave the bike at 9:30am and time of delivery quoted was 5pm... ridiculous
.
When we went at 4pm to check out the status of the bike, it was just washed and kept. On furthur bugging telling the service person, they changed the oil, took a test ride, and parked the bike in the delivery area, and started to prepare the bill. The bill consisted of 183rs oil and 30rs for chain spray. I asked the billing person if the chain has been cleaned and lubricated.... he was unaware of anything.... so went to the service person and asked him if the chain had been washed clean, to this he said that the chain should NOT be cleaned..... its cleaned once in 5k kms
.... I was like wtf the chain is dirty n black.... and this is what they have to say !!! He sprayed some unknown brand spray.... and sprayed it till it started to drip. We cleaned the dripping oil later.
Also to mention was.... our bike was the first bike of the day for servicing, and to keep that in record.... for their 'reference' they wrote '(1)' on the tank with a piece of chalk
.... and when we got the bike back... we asked why did they write it on the tank... to this the person said its a marker that they used.... but unfortuantely it was written with a chalk.... and he took a bad dirty cloth to clean off the chalk stains... and that resulted in sad scratches which are very much visible
..... we gave him and the service person a bad look and later screamed badly.... but they were least bothered.... they were too much bothered with giving new bike deliveries to customers.
All in all... a very disappointing service from yamaha.... as expected.

We had a small drag of FZ with my RTR yesterday, and there the FZ topped around 124 on speedo.Originally posted by i-uze View PostWhat is top speep on the FZ that any of the owners around here have attained ???Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

I guess the FZ would have got the beating only in the top end part...!No Man! To our surprise, the FZ was pretty neat in acceleration...Originally posted by pranay View PostI would have imagined the RTR won. But you know better. So what happened?
It was on par with RTR and it was a very close call till 95~100, after 100 the RTR just kept adding speed and the FZ couldnt keep up.
The end speed was RTR clocked 134 on speedo and FZ 124, but there was a huge gap between the bikes!Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

It was 127kmph if I remember correctly.... but as Sumit said... at 105-110kmph.. the RTR pulls around 3 bikes ahead... but post 120kmph... the distance gets constant and both bikes dont go apart or come near... thats it.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostWe had a small drag of FZ with my RTR yesterday, and there the FZ topped around 124 on speedo.
But pickup wise I guess the low end grunt of the FZ really works. RTR is a bit low on pickup but has a better mid-range punch.
The svc centre is in Navi Mumbai, Naman Yamaha.Originally posted by Mindgrinder View PostWhich service center was it? my friend just got FZ he says best service center is on J.C. Road, bangalore. He has also bought a kit for 3k to change tank cover etc to a different color.
The yellow should look awesome... and has to come at a premium cost.. atleast for a month or so... later it should be available at the same cost. Yellow color seems like a good option for black FZ owners who intend to change the panels later.Originally posted by santoosh View PostChetan

i knew the FZ was fast, but not that fast. That means the FZ kicks other 150s butts, barring the R15 of course. RTR clocks a very high top speed but it has greater error around the top. True would have been anywhere from 120 to 125. Maybe around 125.DoN\'t LivE tO DiE, dIe tO LiVe

Woah Was it 127, coz I was calculating in my head when they said their top speed and I distinctly remember the difference was 10KMPH...Originally posted by chetanpulsar View PostIt was 127kmph if I remember correctly.... but as Sumit said... at 105-110kmph.. the RTR pulls around 3 bikes ahead... but post 120kmph... the distance gets constant and both bikes dont go apart or come near... thats it.
