FYI, K&N does not increase mileage. If ur bothered about the already decent 50 -55 kmpl of the FZ, why did u get it in the first place?Originally posted by vivek.b7r View PostDemocracy is when 2 wolves and a sheep meet to decide who is for dinner. Liberty is when the sheep has a gun.

Tyres... change rear and front to more R-15 perhaps... I'm sure there will be a boost in mileage and performance too, not sure about the handling part. You can do the R&D and confirm it for usOriginally posted by vivek.b7r View Posthey pals
Can anyone recommend the available ( if its ) K&N Filter for FZ16.
Gotta boost the mileage somehow.

FZ Rear Tyre - 140/60Originally posted by shark80 View PostTyres... change rear and front to more R-15 perhaps... I'm sure there will be a boost in mileage and performance too, not sure about the handling part. You can do the R&D and confirm it for us

R15 Rear Tyre- 100/80
Up sizing the profile of the rear tyre will mean reducing acceleration, but the top end will increase!
Moreover, there would difference in rim width for the FZ and R15, so it might make the profile weird too, thereby affecting handling too._________________________

A friend of mine recently bought a FZ 16, about 3-4 days back. Asked him about his experience. According to him, the accleration is awesome and is better than the R15. He claimed a mileage of 30-35 kmpl from tank to tank. Is the mileage really that bad? He has not yet done his first servicing and I have no idea if he is running in the engine or not.Originally posted by Aparajith View PostFYI, K&N does not increase mileage. well its too early to say on that as he has not done his first servicing yet....and before servicing....mileage of 30-35 is some what enough...though i think he must be doing some spirited riding...if he maintains the beast around 4-4.5k rpm than it should give him around 38-42 before first servicing.Originally posted by hellraiSEr View PostA friend of mine recently bought a FZ 16, about 3-4 days back. So how was it? Could you explain in details what all was covered under the service? And the availability of parts? Do they have everything that needs to be replaced?Originally posted by chetanpulsar View PostGoing with my pal... to get his FZ serviced just now.... will see how they fare against the Bajaj PBK guys

Hi guys i need urgent help from u all. I m really confused between FZ and R15... i need reviews from all the owners here and also who have driven both the bikes...i am more of a city rider..but i go for frequent trips to city outskirts where i like 2 drive at speeds above 100kmph...n i really love cornering..does FZ loses its steem too much over 80kmph or its still fun up there. and is R15 really bad on low end and mid end torque and is not worth driving in city, though i don't mind shifting gears. i own a RTR 160 and i do a lot of gear shifting as its not much of a issue for me...also if anyone can compare both the bike's initial pickup(0-60) with RTR. Lot of points i know but only you guys can help..hope to see your replies soon as i need to book my steed before 15th of this month,,,Ride safeLast edited by MG; 12-19-2008, 05:02 PM.My Blog: www.dermotorrad.blogspot.com

The service quality was a nightmare.... gave the bike at 9:30am and time of delivery quoted was 5pm... ridiculousOriginally posted by speedaholica View PostSo how was it? .
When we went at 4pm to check out the status of the bike, it was just washed and kept. On furthur bugging telling the service person, they changed the oil, took a test ride, and parked the bike in the delivery area, and started to prepare the bill. The bill consisted of 183rs oil and 30rs for chain spray. I asked the billing person if the chain has been cleaned and lubricated.... he was unaware of anything.... so went to the service person and asked him if the chain had been washed clean, to this he said that the chain should NOT be cleaned..... its cleaned once in 5k kms
.... I was like wtf the chain is dirty n black.... and this is what they have to say !!! He sprayed some unknown brand spray.... and sprayed it till it started to drip. We cleaned the dripping oil later.
Also to mention was.... our bike was the first bike of the day for servicing, and to keep that in record.... for their 'reference' they wrote '(1)' on the tank with a piece of chalk
.... and when we got the bike back... we asked why did they write it on the tank... to this the person said its a marker that they used.... but unfortuantely it was written with a chalk.... and he took a bad dirty cloth to clean off the chalk stains... and that resulted in sad scratches which are very much visible
..... we gave him and the service person a bad look and later screamed badly.... but they were least bothered.... they were too much bothered with giving new bike deliveries to customers.
All in all... a very disappointing service from yamaha.... as expected.
