brother this bike is meant for mid range, not for raw power in Higher RPMs,Originally posted by STORMRIDER View PostGot my bike services this weekend..
its running smooth...
gear shift problems are rectified..
I still feel that my bike lacks power at higher rpms sometimes..i mean i guess gears are not getting engaged properly..engine seems it has to work really hard to get goin at high rpms...i m worried .. i will sell this bike away if it wont run fast n smooth..
bike is superb in 30 to 90 range and 110 to 120 range,
if you want great power in High Rpms then FZ is really not for you
go for R-15 or P-200 or ZMA or RTR-160, EFI or 180
nothing new, still the same catalog, very unclearOriginally posted by uday_nugur View Postguys yamaha has launched some more accesories to cater our needs.Check this link

^ top speed depends on lot of factors : road (incline / decline), wind speed, body weight etc. Most magazine quote the top speed to be around 108-110 true or around 114-116 on the speedometer. But then, if you have a head wind, the top speed can easily go down by a good 10km/h. Again, if the road has a slight uphill, top speed will again go down.. so, 110 on the speedometer is more or less quite good. All new Royal Enfield 'Tripping' ads here -->www.bhp-india.blogspot.com

Ya, I agree with you buddy... speed depends on a lot of factors as mentioned by you....

Just wanted to share with you guys regarding my free servicing:
Yesterday we had a free service Camp in Shillong. I went there to get my carburator tuned and for some clarification and knowledge regarding FZ, and this is what i learnt from the Service ENGINEER of Yamaha, who had specially come up to Shillong from Guwahati:
1. I informed about the smell of engine burning, usually smells like some kind of plastic or paint or metal burnt. But he said its normal for all FZ. So ok, fine, its clarified!
2. Secondly my handle got bent a bit on both side by about 30 degrees up. This happened when i fell down while playing with my FZ
. I learnt that if the handle is raised upwards, it stresses the choke cable, thus leading to unnecessary rev
. But when the service mechanic fixed another new handle, the slow running, rpm was not stable. Though no adjustment was made to the choke. They tried tuning the carburator but could not manage
It was found that the rpm changes with the change in direction of the handle. This was very weird to the Service Engineer too.... they spent about almost 1 hour in just tuning the carburator but still didn't manage to fix the error even after they changed my handle..
...when the handle was turned in left and right direction the idle rpm differred about 200 to 400 in reading... Dont know still wats the problem. The service engineer was just looking towards me and was giving a funny smile which I could make out that he is trying to say "Sorry yaar, apun ko bhi patta nahin hai, problem kya hai. Aab kya kare"..
. Later I just went out for a "pan" with another FZ owner, and when I returned I found them tuning another FZ. And I realised that they had given up on my FZ tuning....
Well anyways, at least the idle rpm is now between 1300 to 1350
.
3. Thirdly I complaint that the engine still misses and the blast from the exhaust still exists. Again he said it was due to the compression and choke stress..... later when I rode my Monster(FZ) the engine still misses though it has readuced a lot as compared to earlier the servicing.
So if anyone is with bent handle, get your handle straightened or get another one else it will affect your idle rpm.
So I hope my little experience is of some knowledge to you guys......
Enjoy riding your FZ!
Cheers!

@STORMRIDER: I like your helmet buddy.....
@BRAVEHEART: Well I haven't tried till that 110kmph raeding, I only reached 90 on this hilly and curves roads.....
.....Here in Shillong, its all the sexy curves that we enjoy the most.....
... Straight and long roads are very limited except in the National Highways, so not much option to test the Monster (FZ) top speed....

have you completed 5000 kms??
Because its advised not to touch the carburetor till 5000 kms,
