If you are chaging just the spark plug then better do it yourself.

BTW how much do Yamaha SVC charge for a paid service?

        • clunky gear shift still persists

          hi guys,

went to the svc another time to complain about the gear shifts. the manager took a small trip on the bike and returned back informing me tat its perfectly fine. i started arguing, so for my satisfaction he went ahead and diss-assembled the gear box and showed me that everything was fine. i could do nothing but just give a smile and curse myself:-(

on my way back home, i made an observation.
the gear shifts at around 3.5k-4k is quite smooth, at around 5k and above its clunky (the rev range in my gear shifts).

i'm using motul ss 15w50. the engine is smooth unlike the gear shifts. is anyone experiencing the same symptoms like mine, plss throw some light in this matter. its getting annoying by the day guys:-(

          regards,
          rylan.

just wondering.. wont the 120/80 profile be bit too close to the tyre hugger. i remember vishwa mentioning earlier (in his Leh log) that he had to fiddle wit it as he had changed rear to 140/70 profile. correct if i'm wrong.

It's a common problem with all fz/fazers bro..try forcing the svc to give you the upgraded push lever, torsion spring as I hear that helps..hvnt done it myself though

YUP, agreed with rohan.. quite a common problem. in my case the gear getting stuck or being hard has drastically reduced with change in engine oil to motul mineral oil compared to yamalube.

Your A/F mixture(Air:Fuel) is on rich setting, tell those SVC guys to correct the setting. Otherwise you can do the same at castrol bike zone.

I think LEH on the PSD's is a bad idea , simply because the PSD's are also soft compound sticky tyres , which would be prone to punctures , I can't say about the off-roading capabilities as well ... you might be better off with a harder compound tyre like the michelins ... don't remember the exact name of the tyre
