I switched to Roots Windtone Super horns long back. That was within the warranty period itself, now the warranty is over. I'm still using one horn in the original slot itself. It's certainly much louder than the stock Minda which used to give just a sqeeeekkk...

        Hi,

I recently bought an RC1060 for my FZ. Yet to fix it. Did you fix it direct on to the carb or did you alter (break) the stock filter box and fixed it on the inlet pipe.

Now i guess i have to lose the tubeless advantage and put a tube on the front ... is this ok?, the rear tyre seems to be losing air coz of a puncture leak which i can get fixed ... now can i put a tube in only at the front , will that affect the balance , handling ???
I've been facing air leaks problems on my FZ's front tyre since March 2010. The bane of TL tyres. Air is leaking between the rim and the tyre at one place. No punctures.I have to fill 10 days. I've taken it to many tyre mechanics in the city including the Yamaha service centre. The tyre guys, all of them said the same thing. 'Get it tubed, your air leak problems will be solved or get a new tyre'. The svc people said they will remove the tyre and clean and reseal it. But the problem never went away.

            • Saddle Bag mounted!!

              Slight OT Guys...

i had purchased the Roadking Dirt Sack Saddlebag... just mounted it on me bike to check what are the +ves and -ves of this bag. so sharing some pictures with you all.

The bag so far looks good and is a good fit. However if you look at the Pic no.4, the clip on goes through the rear holding brackets and clips on the rear panel. I guess when i am doing a round in the bad roads, it will scratch the plastic panel completely!! any suggestions how to tackle this?

i was looking for ready to fit rain cover for this bag, however failed to find one. hence, have decided to get one custom built.

              Cheers

As of now yes there is slight improvement in performance i also changed the spark plug along with the air filter.... I didn't do anything to carb!

I hope the performance will increase more once i change the clutch plate.

                  I love the sound aftr installing the K & N ................

                  • Always I used to drive my bike with fully covered helmet , but yesterday I took my Friend's helmet which is of cruiser kind and Ear is visible ....
During my Ride I noticed whenever I brake , I get scratchy Sound at front. Is it normal (since I have not experienced before) or some issue ?

FYI:: My Fazer is 920 KM old.

for the clip you can cover it up with soft cloth or foam that should prevent the scratching, or you can put a lamination sheet on the plastic covers.

they look good with the fz but i have one doubt how comfortable are they for a pillion? because i dont think a pillion will be a ble to seat with the saddle bags on...

yes that is normal with new disc brakes as the callipers and pads take some time to set according to your braking style.....

the nosie can also come if there is some moisture in them.... squeeze them hard for a couple of times (but take care not to lock the wheels)

Yup you are right!!... pillion is a complete no no option here as the bag also covers the pillion's foot peg. Even i was thinking about covering the back panel with tape or lamination sheet. Thanks.

I dont think you can alter the ride height of FZ....

however if you go for Softer setting than the factory one the suspension will compress more resulting in a lower height....
