    Help required!!!!

    Hi guys....

    My fazer has done 26000 km....
    I have a strange problem, when i drive my bike all of a sudden the engine cuts off for a sec very often (something like a block in fuel supply or how will we feel if we drive the bike with the chokes on) its the same feel ...

    Took the bike to SVC they don't have a proper answer & told that it is a common problem in all fz which is due to the block in air filter it seems. I asked them to clean instead they asking to change the filter as it cant be cleaned... is it so guys ?
    I'am confused as in wat to do now as svc is not sure & also they are not giving a confirmation that the bike will be fine aftr the change of air filter....

    what is the remedy?

    If the air filter needs to be changed what u suggest K&N or the stock one..?

    How much a clutch plate set & the front sprocket will cost ?

    Awaiting for your suggestions

      Did you by any chance replaced your stock air filter at ~12-15K on the Odo?

        seems to me as carbuerator issue.. Nothing major, just get your carb checked & cleaned thoroughly from svc itself. I've had such an issue in very earlier day of my bike & was recommended carb check by someone though i highly doubted it. Still got it done & bike is fine till date.
        never heard such a problem because of airfilter, but anyways you can definitely replace it as its just about approx rs 250/- or even swap air filter from any of your friend's fz/fazer & check out both the bikes.

        no dude, k&n is really not worth the hype.. K&n itself isn't bad but if the mechanic screws the rejetting process, you suffer big time. Refer to the special air filter thread in here in xbhp & you'll find lots of aggreived k&n users.. Stock air filter should be fine.

        how much a clutch plate set & the front sprocket will cost ?

        clutch plates/pressure plates & related accessories cost approx rs 850 from svc itself.
        new front sprocket is not available as single piece in most svc (as they sell in set) but you can get it from any normal mechanic shops at approx rs 150 (i got myself a honda unicorn front sprocket for rs 100, you may even try that for a change)

            Ummm,No you will have to get a new instrument cluster,check out for old and clusters that don't work anymore.Try to find it at scrap yards and have a talk with yamaha service centre if they can get you a damaged cluster.

              ah. bad day. dropped the bike. Broke the clutch lever, scratches on the left side and a bend in the handlebar. The left side of the handle can touch the tank now even if locked.

              a bit tight on the budget. Is it okay to ride with the bend handlebar for a few days ?

                  handlebar costs 200-250 bucks and clutch lever just over 100 bucks.

                        the entire rod comes for just 210 bucks ? The SVC is gonna charge me for all the repair work too right? hmmm... The clutch lever is broken somewhere around 1/4th to halfway, so i can still manage it
                        Anyways, the bend hasn't effected the wheel balance. tried that. the only difficulty is that while my right arm is stretched my left arm isn't that stretched. Kinda like FZ type handlebar on the right and some clip on on the left

                              just take a big rod with diameter greater than the handle bar, n in one end insert in the bend side and pull the opposite direction... The same procedure was done to my handle bar at SVC several times... so no need of changing... clutck lever is Rs 70

                                ya clutch lever print price is 63rs....handle bar 230rs......i've seen a fz with gladiator engine cowl it was kinda cool....i called yamaha showroom they said 1200rs for the whole engine cowl......i want to know is it a direct fit or need tweaking......and i hope it doesn't create any problem in engine cooling.....here goes d pic
