  • Well, a Ducati deserved a better resolution pic and not just a mobile pic.. Dont tell me you have modified the FZ.. Its nearly impossible.. Liked the inverted shocks the most.

What is Lucky's Fazer doing in the background!? or is it your FZ? I hope I am correct.

Need to change my clutch return spring...do I need to flush engine oil for that? The SVC said so..still not convinced.

Flush engine oil for changing clutch return spring?? Erm i don't think so!! Tell them to fool someone else better next time but before you do so.. please for once mess around with their heads asking about why is it needed what is the logic behind it looking like an anxious and helpless fellow.. Tell them to show in your bike which one is the clutch return spring and where is it located? Once they are done giving you the explanation, ask them to give you 100 bucks with a stone cold face. If they ask why, tell it is for listening to all their BS!! Clutch return spring is a part mounted at the exterior which has no contact with the engine oil whatsoever. It only acts as a mechanism in order to assist in pushing the clutch to release postion.

Tell them next time they better not try pulling stunts like these on you.. Its fun at times to mess with them.. when they know you are an motorcycle educated person they keep such BS to themselves and do what they are told!

@Mik: Seems your prank got caught!! guys at xbhp are far more educated then the others Happy riding the ducati now you are an official Ducatisti!!

What an idea Sirjee! Thanks for the advice. Always had a grudge against the service carried out at my dealer's SVC. Wish we had a Kamala Yamaha equivalent at Kolkata. Will try out the new YFS SVC opened here recently. This is my second attempt to get hold of the Race Concept's new SS FFE from Joel. But many are saying that a stock engine with the FFE will make the engine/torque "flat" eventually. Is it true? What's up with your mods?

My Gen FFE never had flat torque.. the power started from 2000 all the way to redline. The only minor issues i had was with my particular batch the electro plating was not done correctly and thus caught rust after 4 months being near coastal region and the glasswool getting burnt off at 8000 kms which resulted in the FE going down to 34 kmpl once. So one has to keep a track of the glasswool ideally every 5000 kms and refill when needed. Usually costs 20-30 bucks for the top up and that's about it. Last time i checked with Joel it was still in the process and not ready so getting annoyed of waiting, i was planning to opt for Leo Vince FFE which as my luck turns out is also not available in mumbai :/ .

I would request you to keep these discussions in the FZ 18 thread.. i am voluntarily keeping the ownership thread away from mod related talks..

                  Cheers,

The SS version has taken care of the rust issue. Many guys (owners & non-owners) are saying that I need to change valves and stuff after around 15k kms and all that,if I don't go for big-bore.

                      • Thanks a lot Speedy, confirmed with Joel, the new batch is ready & it is of SS. Will be placing the order soon. But the FFE has full chrome plating not as shown in the pic. Also little heavier than the previous one.
