Will a damaged cone set have any effect on handling and ride quality?

I don't know much about this, but on my bro's R15, the cone set was damaged and was bent slightly after an accident.. The problem he faced was the bike would always tend to go towards right (due to the bend) and would wobble like hell at high speed..
others might be able to give a better answer..
is this prob. on your bike..?

      Ride safe and have fun.

Off lately, somehow the steering feels a bit scary. The "squeak squeak" sound comes when i pass a bad patch in fast motion. If i pass the bad patch with gentle pace, there is no sound. Haven't faced any issue while the bike is in motion. Like the one you mentioned about bike goin towards right. Any other reviews by fella riders??

The mechanic wants me to take out the battery and hand over to him. I can't push a 140+kg bike for 3km to take it to the battery shop.
dude, remove the side panels....there will b a rubber belt like thing holding ur battery...remove it from side clip......first remove the black (-ve )terminal.... and then red one this will reduce the chances of short circuit... nd dont woiry u wont get a jerk of 220v......

guys yestrday i checked my bike's oil level. i followed all the routine we do while checking the oil level. like bike cooling, level surface etc. i was able to find the oil level was just touching the minimum level and that too on one side...other side of the dipstick the oil level was showing lower than minimum mark. m confused and now worried to rev my bike beyond 4k RPM....is it safe to ride with that level of oil ?? or do i have to top up?

if you know that the oil level is low, then why take chances and leave it.. just top it up..
if if has done 2k above, better change the whole oil..

            • Considering FZ-S to be my next bike

              Hello everyone,
I am planning to buy a bike to be my office ride.

Recent bike i had was GS150, my nephew is riding it now.
Have gone through few pages here and there to find any generic issues with this bike. Couldn't conclude hence need your help.
              Questions:
              1) Can you please let me know if there are any generic issues like(eg: gear shift are usually hard, back pain, weak headlight).
              2) I am considering the white and red painted Fzs, hope it is still in production.
              3) Is anyone facing back pain and is the riding posture is not lean froward type.
              4) Hope the new ones are having the kick starter.
              5) Are there any chances of getting Engine upgraded FZs(200 or 250cc)in near future.

              Thanks in advance.

                # - There are no such issues with the bike.

                2) I am considering the white and red painted Fzs, hope it is still in production.
                # - There are many color schemes for the FZ. One new special edition is also there.

                3) Is anyone facing back pain and is the riding posture is not lean froward type.
                # - The bike has saddle type seating. So, rule out aggressive stance on it. It is absolutely comfortable for long rides and there are no issues with the back.

                4) Hope the new ones are having the kick starter.# - The new bikes come with kick starter.

                5) Are there any chances of getting Engine upgraded FZs(200 or 250cc)in near future.
                # - Not in the near furture.

                Thanks in advance.

the gear shifting is normal. with timely engine oil change and chain cleaning/lubing, you wont find any problem.
well the rear shocker is really good and i haven't faced any problem in this regard.
headlight is good for city-riding but not on highways..

                  2) I am considering the white and red painted Fzs, hope it is still in production.
check the Yamaha site, the newer color combinations are really good.. red-black looks nice.

                  3) Is anyone facing back pain and is the riding posture is not lean froward type.
the posture is upright and i don't think you would be getting back pains due to the handle position on this bike.

                  4) Hope the new ones are having the kick starter.
they started having kick-starters from 2 years back.. so don't worry.

                  5) Are there any chances of getting Engine upgraded FZs(200 or 250cc)in near future.
R25 is rumored, but that is a sports bike. there isn't any news regarding an upgrade of fz

                  Thanks in advance.

                  • Help regarding Fazer's sprockets!

                    hello all,
I have a 2012 Yamaha Fazer. it has clocked about 16,xxx kms. I have changed the following things till date-
                    1. spark plug- added NGK Iridium spark plugs with a spit fire cable. (at 13k kms)
                    2.air filter-stock itself. (at 14k kms)
3.rear tyre- upgraded to dunlop tuff grip 140/70-17 (at 16k kms)
now unfortunately the chain started making a lot of noise. When shown to a reliable Yamaha-SVC in my area (Suvarnrekha yamaha, karvenagar) they did some chain setting and the sound stopped. But again after 100-150kms the sound started again. After showing them again they told me to change the rear sprocket. so now as it was monsoon he did the setting and told me to come after monsoon. So i will be changing the sprocket in September. The ODO mostly would stand around 18.5k kms.
Now i want to increase the acceleration of the bike, which basically involves a rear large sprocket. After checking with the SVC they said it cant be done. I am very confused. Recently a friend told about the Daytona sprockets. so i have the following querries-
1.Has any one done the thing i am planning to? With larger rear sprockets? If yes how and what did you tell the service advisor? (any mechs in pune?)
2.What would be the ideal cost of the whole thing? if i change the rear sprocket is it necessary to change the front sprockets too?
3.What would be the cost of the dayton sprockets? are there any harmful effects of installing them?
                    Thanks a lot!

good replies, but the ride quality for long rides is not so good. though there is no back pain, the knees do take the toll, and the buttocks feel like on fire. i am telling this for a 40000+km old bike

if both the ols have same grades, then is ok to mix them.. but preferably, its better to change the whole oil..

yaa both of them have same grade .... but both are different...i mean Yamalube is light and Motul is thick (denser).....so i m reluctant to mix.....i am so planing to wait till my next servicing when i'll change the whole oil...but again there is gap of 15 days...so i just want to make sure if its ok to ride in such low oil.....
