Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
LOL... I saw your query in Powerhouse thread & was waiting for your experience. It was already discussed in one of the threads and the result was the same - SVC guys denying to do it. Welcome to the club! I want to do it as well but it seems we should approach our trusted mechanics for this particular purpose, instead of SVC. All the best, bro!! Times are unforgiving or else I would have done it by now & posted.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostBENEATH THE REMAINS.........

ya, earlier had posted it there, and shiv had helped to some extent..Originally posted by chaosaddict View PostLOL... I saw your query in Powerhouse thread & was waiting for your experience. the fuel is not of good quality here, so thought that it would be good to clean the carb from any residual particles.. but ya, you are right, the SVC anr just for oil and filter replacement.. they don't want to do anything else..
as for local mech.. i went to one on my way back, but didn't seem to be confident enough and told me to take to SVC..
i don't know any experienced mech.. will have to ask from here and there..
Ride safe and have fun.

Even I am waiting to get the carb cleaned. My svc does it for 80 bucks.but with petrol, not the carb cleaner. I am still latkofying undecided about what to do.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View Postya, earlier had posted it there, and shiv had helped to some extent..

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Bump!! Anyone having any suggestions??Originally posted by arijitmaniac View PostFriends,
My Fazers front suspension has been feeling unusually soft recently. I was thinking this might be cos my tire is losing pressure but turns out that's not the case. It looks like the suspension itself is soft. Is it possible that the fork oil may be the reason for the soft suspension? Do bumpy roads cause this? Because I'm noticing it only recently after monsoon. And Bangalore has a habit of gifting it's citizens some very well designed off-roading tracks every monsoon.
My bike is just over a year old and it has completed 8.5k on the odo.

will visit other SVC and see what excuse they have to give..
ya it could be due to the glorious Indian roads..Originally posted by arijitmaniac View PostBump!! Anyone having any suggestions??
btw, a softer suspension is helpful in such conditions.. what problem are you getting by that..?Last edited by nadz11.ns; 08-27-2013, 01:49 PM.

Yeah its helpful from a comfort point of view. But it lacks feedback. And in turn handling suffers.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View Postya it could be due to the glorious Indian roads..

I mean when you are used to the handling of your bike, a softer suspension changes that and then turns you normally take with confidence feel shaky.
Hope you get what I mean

Re: FZ16 Lost balance and modification
Bro today I put 1.42litre (100rupees/70per litre) of petrol and ride my bike until it hit reserve . I have reset My Odo meter I observe that at 46.5 km my bike stopped and asked for the petrolOriginally posted by nadz11.ns View Post1) there isn't any such tuneup which restricts the speed.. Don't know what might be the case with your bike not going above 70.
2) try a couple of full tanks and check the average.. If they have altered the tuning, it might chenge the milege..
3) you can try Philips or osram 55/60w bulb..
as I turn on the Reserve.
Now I want to know the how much my bike is giving mileage.
As per earlier I have tested my bike mileage on Full tank method it was giving 37km per litre.
Please do help me out as I want to know its been 6 month to My new FZS now after 3rd service what mileage it is giving

Reserve capacity as per manual is 1.4L.Originally posted by bikashnayak View PostBro today I put 1.42litre (100rupees/70per litre) of petrol and ride my bike until it hit reserve . I have reset My Odo meter I observe that at 46.5 km my bike stopped and asked for the petrol

So your bike did 46.5km on 1.4L or basically 33kmpl.
But do know that this will definitely change next time. You mileage depends on a lot of things. Thats why its recommended to do the full tank to reserve method. That averages out the result and gives you a more accurate (never exact!!) reading of your mileage.

Re: FZ16 Lost balance and modification
The best way to check mileage is to check via full tanks..Originally posted by bikashnayak View PostBro today I put 1.42litre (100rupees/70per litre) of petrol and ride my bike until it hit reserve . I have reset My Odo meter I observe that at 46.5 km my bike stopped and asked for the petrol

and the mileage depends on a lot of factors and would never be the same, as also said by the above rider.. Riding styles, road conditions etc all play an important factor..
a single reading won't hel.. Try checking for 2-3 full tanks till reserve and their average would give you much closer mileage..
and buddy don't worry.. 37km/L which you were getting earlier are way better than what i am getting.. From the beginning till now after 20k kms, my bike gave me between 30-35km/L always.. Never more..
Note the readings for 2-3 full tanks till they hit reserve and their average would be your mileage..
ride safe..
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hey fellas!
what is the difference between FZ and Fazer.. the specification is almost the same.. just the suspension part is something differrent..
Fazer has 7step adjustable suspension spring.. and read it somewhere it helps in touring ability.. and the gear ratios are different.. they more longer than the FZ
Does it really helps.. as i am looking FZ as a second option against the ZMA..
Correct me of i am wrong..
