Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Thanks folks for your opinions,
Actually of late I had been facing a lot of visibility issues while riding with the HID on certain stretches, while at the same time on another day ridin the Dio which have halogens gave a much better visibility on the same stretch. I would strain my eyes trying to look into the darkness ahead even with the high beam. It kinda felt weird that at times I would stop my bike and check whether the HID's were actually working.
Yesterday, I almost collided with a cyclist which got me thinking whether the road was kinda absorbing all the beam thrown by the HID. I know it's funny, but it actually is true.
It was kinda like Shv18 actually read my mind when he posted his experience with the set of HID that were installed on his bike, it was telepathic lol
After reading his post I realised that on concrete roads the HID would blend with the road making the rider vulnerable. I immediately uninstalled HID along with the complete wiring harness.
Went ahead and installed osram 60/55 bulb. I haven't checked the spread and intensity but am pretty sure I'll be happy with the results

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hi Rylan,
It is because the HID kit itself is at fault. Try a good branded HID-Projector kit & you will not be disappointed.

A good branded HID kit would set me back by around 6-8k mate. And also I've kinda gotten over the honey moon phase of white lightOriginally posted by abhijitkn View PostHi Rylan,

And as you mentioned, you can't get it fixed. All these factor drove me towards the tried and tested halogen

Is it a direct fit?? Or has the projector to be installed by modifying the dome?Originally posted by SpeedyKol View PostIf possible, get a halogen fitted in a p220 projector.my friend got it from another friend for Rs.400... :banghead:

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I didn't knew myself so i searched the net.. Found this useful..Originally posted by devils_friend View PostWhat is the system G? Can anybody please share some info on the same.
Cheerz!!
"IFTEX Clean System G is a Generation V gasoline fuel additive, with outstanding clean-up and keep-clean properties, most convenient to use by adding to the fuel tank in the recommended proportion and designed to keep the fuel system free of performance inhibiting deposits."
so in short you can say its an additive which is added to the petrol to increase efficient combustion and provide more power.. And give cleaning properties..
but don't know if these claims are valid or not..
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Have been using System G in my cars and bikes for almost 10 years now. Just couple of things for people who have doubts: System G was officially recommended by Ford and GM for their cars till couple of years back. Similarly, TVS recommended the same for RTR 160.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostI didn't knew myself so i searched the net.. Found this useful..

As far as my experience with it is concerned; I am quite satisfied with the performance of the same. As mentioned earlier I have used if for quite some time, in between I switched over to STP fuel injector and carburettor cleaner. I found System G to be much superior to STP. You can feel the difference in just couple of tank full of fuel treatment.
Also note that they have never claimed to increase of power by using of the same. What they are claiming is that by keeping the engine and the fuel system clean, it helps maintain power output which would otherwise go down due to carbon build up and gunk build in the fuel system. Which is a reasonable claim.
