I am not a very knowledgeable person about this, but saw some guys with white LED's as parking lamp for there FZ and Karizma ZMR. What kind of LED's are those? will not go for the OEM LEDs.
Hi Koushik,
For the Parking lamp, you can definitely use the LED bulbs. It will look better & save some battery also. You can get it from Wellington in Kolkata. If you search there a bit , you will get it in different colours. And it will cost less than 100 rs.Last edited by Subhradeep; 05-29-2013, 04:25 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Thanks for the information Subhradeep, will search for it, but it would be helpful if you could please name the LED bulbs. What I mean to say, is there any specific name of those LED bulbs, or should I ask for LED parking lamp for Fazer? I am asking you these questions, since it's not possible for me to visit Wellington (due to workload), and if there is any specific name of those LEDs, I will ask it in the nearby spare-parts shop.Originally posted by Subhradeep View PostHi Koushik,

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
You can ask for SMD LED lights for parking lights. There will be 5 SMD/9 SMD LEDs. Some might take some time to understand , just explain where you will fit it in the bike. For me also, it is tough to visit Wellington due to ofc workload, try to go there in evening, most shops remain open at 8 p.m. also.Originally posted by koushik_man View PostThanks for the information Subhradeep, will search for it, but it would be helpful if you could please name the LED bulbs. Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Thanks for the information, will ask for the 9 SMD LEDs, and once I fit it into my steed, will post the pics. However, I will try at the local spare parts shop, since I used to leave office after 7:30 or 8, and my office is at Rajarhat, so when I will reach Wellington, all the shops will be closed.Originally posted by Subhradeep View PostYou can ask for SMD LED lights for parking lights. There are two ways:Originally posted by SpeedyKol View PostHey guys! Anybody did a mod like front mudguard extension or something? Am planning to bolt in an extended mudguard of pulsar or anything to the front,as the mud reaches upto where the horns are located.any idea anybody?

1. get a plasic mudguard extension which will fit nicely over the curved mudguard end & then fix with a screw & nut. For that, a hole needs to be made on the mudguard. If u fit it with a couple of screws, then the setup will be more sturdy, else one screw is also enough. But the hole(s) will be permanent. I suppose Samurai's mudguard extension should be a direct fit.
2. use a rubber kind of thing eg: a nicely cut rubber tube which coincides with the shape of the mudguard end of a sufficient length which can be pasted with a suitable adhesive like feviquick. This will hang from the mudguard end upto the required length. This will avoid making the hole on the mudguard & can later be removed cleanly also.
3. If you stay in Mumbai, you will see almost all bikers using a cardboard kind of thing fixed to the crashguards to avoid the water splashes reaching the engine frame, exhaust, horns et.
choice is yours!!

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Guys, any clue how to read the rear brake wear indicator? Mine indicator has come till the arrow mark. Also, saw a new FZ, whose indicator was also on the arrow mark. Is it time to change the brake shoes or can i continue to use it? The rear brake has lost its sheen and so does the front brake :banghead:
Any opinions?

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
my bike covered only 6700 kms
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
anyone to help?Originally posted by sivaram View PostHello all
. I live in an area which has bumpy and uneven roads, full of speed breakers and potholes. So I need decent level of suspension. Earlier my fz used to absorb the shocks abut now after 6700kms on ODO, i started to feel the shocks on uneven roads. On my previous service i asked them to adjust the spring at the back but of no use.Actually the svc guy sort of brought it down.(its a bit tightened) Should the spring be tight or loose?

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
^^ if you tighten it too much, you will feel the bump hitting you. If you soften it too much, you will dance on the bike when passing over the bumps. The best is to just keep it below too tighten position. This surely helps. Tell the svc guy to change the setting.

Weird Sound from Engine belly
The bike is a month old nearly .
After riding it for a few minutes, when I switch off the engine and while the keys are out in my hand , something is still going on in the engine . Its happening near the lower part of the engine , engine belly maybe . It makes a weird .. Synchronized clicking sound . Click - Click - Click . ( Like a spoon hitting a steel glass. )
I am a new rider and have no clue what this is ..
I am following the normal slow break-in routine . Never been above the prescribed RPM's .
Bike - Yamaha Fazer .
Would love to know what this sound is and if it is something to worry about ..
NO matter how many Cars/Bikes/Trucks/animals . on the road , you must still rely on your ability :D

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hey Speedy, just go to any bike repair shop and ask them for "Jol Guard" (that's what they call it in Bengali), all total it will cost you around Rs100, which will include a rectangular piece of thick and flexible rubber and 2 piece of bracket along with some bolts, they will fix it below the leg gurd, which will protect you and bike engine from any water or mud splash. But, be prepared to loose some points in the looks department of your steedOriginally posted by SpeedyKol View PostHey guys! Anybody did a mod like front mudguard extension or something? . Also, just for information, I now have received all the documents of my steed, along with the high security number plates
