Everytime they say it has been taken care of. I told him to check cone set and fork oil seal and he said they are fine.

      Never replaced cone set.

Because 43k hid is useless for fog riding..... I would say first go ahead with the mod try it for a couple of days check the voltages at the battery terminals see if it is gong below if it is you can go for a bigger battery lke a 7 or 9amph battery...
          Hi Kinshuk,

After all that I have to change my rear Tyre also as it has nothing left in it and ODO was 20000km app.
I was OK with the standard MRF but I am advised to go for IRC (the same Tyre in Ninja) by the shopkeeper in Karol bagh (Globe Tires) . So went for the IRC, with in a one week I realize that I am driving a pulsar or some other 150 cc bike because the Feeling of Pulling the bike with bulky MRF has gone. Bike has become Fast and Braking has improved noticeably but I was not 100% satisfied with the advice. So I change my mind and replaced IRC with MRF again. Hmmm, Now its FZ16 .
All was well until the first puncture with in a week . It was normal I fixed and start driving it with same happiness. Man I am enjoying the Bikism again, OMG .. Again !! The second puncture, I inspected and saw the old puncture leaking L . I fixed it . For a week it was good but a mental block is creating in mind i.e I am driving and suddenly I realize low air pressure @ rear , I inspected its fine. After 2-3 days that puncture leaked again and 2 days later again . Now I am frustrated and regretting why I replace the IRC as I searched for some reviews of it and its pretty fine in FZ and also suitable too. It was 7th time I am fixing it L

                          • Coating on engines

                            Guys,
Does anyone know what is this "cutting oil" which the SVC folks spray over the engine parts after a wash ? It gives the engines that blackish look after a wash.
When I asked them what it was, they always give some misleading answers

                              • need some help guys..

For the past few days, I had been feeling a increase in the engine sound and it felt a little too rash on high speeds, so I wanted to get this checked and was heading to the SVC last Saturday.

On my way to SVC, I met with an accident. It wasnt anything major, I was behind a truck, which stopped suddenly and I had to resort to panic braking. The front wheel got locked and the rear one skidded a little. It was still manageable, but then the car behind me bumped in, I lost the balance and fell down. As I had already stopped before the impact, the bike didnt skid or anything, but the side mirror got bent a bit and the handle bar and fork got misaligned.

I went to the SVC directly to get these fixed and asked the mechanic to check for the engine noise too. As the bike has done >11K, I wanted to get the front brake pads changed too. I got the bike back in about 3 hrs time with all things fixed. When I took it for a test ride everything looked normal and hence, I took it back.

The next day, while riding I noticed a peculiar "tick-tick-tick" sound on higher speeds. The frequency of this sound increased with the acceleration and as the bike got hotter, it increased. Riding on low gears, its not as prominent, and isnt even noticeable until the speed reaches 60+. The bike also started dying out on neutral and when not moving. I suspected it to be a case of low idle RPM (it was almost 1K).

It was Sunday and the SVC was closed so I decided to get it checked on Monday. However, due to some urgent requirements at office, I couldn't visit the SVC on monday too, and had to ride the bike under the same state to office and back.. (almost 30 kms). Now, during this period, the bike started to vibrate a lot and felt like stressing out with a pillion on. On 90+ speeds it felt as if the bike would tear apart if revved further.

On Tuesday, I took the bike back to the SVC the first thing, where the mechanic increased the idle RPM to 1400, looked for the engine oil (it was change at the last service, almost 2200 kms ago). He drained out the engine oil, measured it to find that it was almost 300 ml short of the capacity. He added some more oil to the existing one and filled it back to the engine. The mechanic took it for a test ride after that and said, its fine now. When I rode it, I still felt the same tick tick noise and sluggishness and questioned the mechanic about it. The mechanic just refused to acknowledge the issue at all and said that all the noise is pretty normal in these bikes and the vibrations would go off when the engine oil is changed at the next service (which is due in another 800 kms)..

I'm really sad and confused on what to do next.. I am planning to visit the factory svc at malad, which is closer to my office but I'm not sure if I'd get any help there too..

Still cant figure out why the engine oil was low, and if its okay to reuse the drained out engine oil.

Will riding the bike with this noise and so much vibrations cause some severe damage to the engine?

Should I consult some local mechanic to get some help on it.. ?
