Well in my case never happened so far, and i do at times rev its nuts off in all gears!! worst so far is 35 - 36 kmpl with all gear shifts happening post 8000-8500 rpm constantly... if your friends have encountered this 25-28kmpl... the most possible cause is incorrect carburetor setting which is probably on richer fuel - air mixture...Originally posted by pavandshettyI agree FZ-16 is a good bike. What I heard about this bike from my friends is, sometimes it gives worst mileage of 25kmpl. Did you experience this problem?
But on a realistic point of view, it gives 36-45 kmpl based on your riding habits.. if you expect the FZ to give you 50 kmpl+ then this is not the bike for you. Yamaha's are known for performance and not for mileage..
@Abhijit: yup bro you are right there is no need.. but there are people who have indeed asked for the FFE with no contraption for the removable DB killer... so just for the sake of everyone i have mentioned it that such an option does exist!!..

thanx for reply
hi.. m sorry for the confusion, actually I wanted to say was review of "joeled" fzOriginally posted by shv18 View Posti am currently awaiting the FFE from Joel.... for me it is stage 1 mod. all final mods post sept... for review for fzgo to first impressions thread
i mean does it feel different(in vibration point of view) from stock fz ?? (P.S. I dont need review for fz/fazer, I already own fazer but I sometimes feel the lack of power).. Also if someone can throw light on the sound difference(if some one can post video of sound of FFE for fz with DB cutter as compared to one without it..)
One peculiar thing I've noticed, with my fazer (2000 kms + completed), engine becomes a li'll bit harsh at speed range of 56-62 and then becomes smooth again, any other fellow rider experiencing the same problem (is it what is called power band kicking..?? or is there some problem with my bike)

It's characteristic for most FZs.Originally posted by cooolaashu View PostOne peculiar thing I've noticed, with my fazer (2000 kms + completed), engine becomes a li'll bit harsh at speed range of 56-62 and then becomes smooth again, any other fellow rider experiencing the same problem (is it what is called power band kicking..?? or is there some problem with my bike)#RetiredRider

as i have already mentioned in my previous post... so far no one else has done full souped up fz from joel... Currently, the only guys who have ordered Stage1:FFE are me, RanjithMN & may be Abhijitkn... so until i get my hands on it.. no video nothing bro.. but as far as performance and FE factors are concerned with the FFE.. enough have already been said about Joel's work on xbhp and i am more than confident about his work hence, i took this bold step of ordering one and be the lab rat on this threadOriginally posted by cooolaashu View Posthi.. m sorry for the confusion, actually I wanted to say was review of "joeled" fz

rather then waiting for someone else to do the same.
So if you are hungry for more then FFE is the first step as it is just an external mod and you are not tinkering with any internal parts of the engine.. the Joel FFE is only 1-2kgs net weight compared to the stock exhaust, meaning your bike is shedding weight and generating more power i.e. more power:weight ratio.
plus it is way way way cheaper than the Daytona exhaust system..From there on you can take a call whether its worthy of going for other stages of upgrades or not...
or else you can wait till 3 of us get our hands on the FFE and then you will have 3 individual unbiased testimonials regarding Joel's kits.
that little harshness is normal.. nothing to be worried about. Remember it is a single cylinder engine... so bit of vibes are the characteristics of such an engine...

1. Cylinder Heads (White smoke from exhaust)
2. Clutch Plates
3. New Meter
4. Wheel balancing of Both rear and front
5. Alignment of shockers Twice
6. New Handle
7. A.I.S (Some air pressure noise is coming)
8. Rear No. Plate
9. General Service checkup
After all that I have to change my rear Tyre also as it has nothing left in it and ODO was 20000km app.
I was OK with the standard MRF but I am advised to go for IRC (the same Tyre in Ninja) by the shopkeeper in Karol bagh (Globe Tires) . So went for the IRC, with in a one week I realize that I am driving a pulsar or some other 150 cc bike because the Feeling of Pulling the bike with bulky MRF has gone. Bike has become Fast and Braking has improved noticeably but I was not 100% satisfied with the advice. So I change my mind and replaced IRC with MRF again. Hmmm, Now its FZ16
.
All was well until the first puncture with in a week . It was normal I fixed and start driving it with same happiness. Man I am enjoying the Bikism again, OMG .. Again !! The second puncture, I inspected and saw the old puncture leaking L . I fixed it . For a week it was good but a mental block is creating in mind i.e I am driving and suddenly I realize low air pressure @ rear , I inspected its fine. After 2-3 days that puncture leaked again and 2 days later again . Now I am frustrated and regretting why I replace the IRC as I searched for some reviews of it and its pretty fine in FZ and also suitable too. It was 7th time I am fixing it L
