How to obtain maximum mileage

i Know that Yamaha FZ is not meant for mileage still
i have a doubt
will upshifting at 3-3.5k and riding at 40 - 45kmph
OR
upshifting at 4-4.5k and riding at 55 - 60kmph
Give more mileage because some say one others say something else

Hey .. I'm using the normal mineral oil ..as provided in the service .. My doubt is could i upgrade to a semi-Synthetic

, IF yes /no please tell me how it would affect my bike.. and Does the service centre provide semi-synthetic ??..

I've Done 14k on the bike.. Jus change of spark plug nothing much

I may be very, very late in replying to your query on the engine icon indicator. never the less i might as well. The icon signifies "engine trouble". It flashes for a moment when you turn on the ignition key as the electronics configure. However if the icon stay's, that means there could be some problem with the engine and it needs to be checked out. hope this was helpful. Thanks

You can shift to semi-synth. Yamalube Semi-synth engine oil is available with SVC or you can buy Motul from outside. No harm in using SS oil as you have completed 14K.

But if you are satisfied with the performance of mineral oil, i think you can continue with the same.

Thanks buddy !! just gave the bike today for service and asked him to change engine oil to semi-synthetic... Lets See...

hey guys i have problem in my fz...

what if we put Daytona kit on fz will it work for peak-up and top speed?

if yes then what about mileage.

can u guys please help. i m suffered of my bike cos some time my bike stop in middle of road n not getting started again without pushing it

. and i have serviced it last month . that's was my 5th servicing after that i had given my bike for checkup to local mechanic and i was shocked when he said me that "ur bike have a problem and your bikes engine is not getting fuel properly and heating too much therefore u have to complain about it in Yamaha for replace or repair it" . But showroom guys said me that it's normal there is no problem in your bike but i still have same problem and not getting start by self-start but when i push it and release the clutch it's get started again.

"i have no idea about this" can u guys help me in this.

is there anyone else who's getting same problem as mine?

You would be better off selling your bike and getting a R15..it will be faster and well better mileage too.

I had problem with bike starting in the morning.. that was due to a faulty tail light switch which was keeping the tail light lit all day resulting in draining all the battery.. Finally i got the switch fixed.. Replaced the tail lamp with the LED one and got the battery recharged .. its working fine since past 2 days.. other wise I had to push it to get it started...

If you put the Daytona kit ofcourse the performance, the pickup and the top speed will increase drastically but your milage will decrease to hell...

Get your bike checked by a good mechanics.. all the service centers do not provide good services .. they just want us to replace everything rather they repairing it.. you can go to INDIABIKE.COM - Buying/Selling Two Wheelers, Bike Finance, Prices, Auto Industry News & Reviews and talk to Dilip Balm he is a bike guru from pune he will suggest you some good mechanic.. who can certainly solve ur query

Cost of rear alloy!

Ah guys does anyone have an idea about the cost of the rear alloy for our bike?

I'm having a bent alloy due to which am losing air pressure in less than 2 days and the tire has almost lost its shape!

last i heard the alloy costed somewhere close to 3.5K ... i had the same prob wid the front ... am sure u may know ... got it fixed from the SVC for 100 bucks , it was apparently a beading leakage ... are you sure of the bend ?

ya man i know about the issue that you had with your alloy!

my alloy's bend is kinda too big actually! i took it to 2 svc's and went in vain and then tried with other well known tire and alloy dealers here and that also went in vain.

Am losing my bike's performance and also getting really less FE even in highways without my Daytona kit and in almost in splendor mode!
