there are many people who have a similar opinion... a friend of mine who is working in HPCL also told me not to use the speed, power or extra premium as it might harm the engine.....Originally posted by yamahafazer View Post
does the sound comes only in the morning and goes away with use during the day or does it come every time you brake....Originally posted by yamahafazer View Post

1) Really ? We need some inputs from the petroleum engineers ,hope you friend is one . I am spending more money and at the same time harming my engine ,its like hitting the one own feet with a golden axe!!
2)No its not everytime, just sometimes, but when it starts it remains for a while and then from next it may be there or may not be ,then perhaps it may start again.
3)Good to know that ,I have just being into the the 70s ,not more.
4)Ok, I use the various edit options put all the queries in a single reply.

Kerosene use ok for chain cleaning ?
Is it ok to use normal kerosene to just clean the chain of all the dirt ? I am not talking about lubricating it , I had used Motul once for cleaning as well as lubricating for my FAZER. I think we are not supposed to use oil or grease the chain of Fazer/FZ etc like a cycle chain ,but I have seen service centre guys lubricate Fazers with normal oil ,though not on my bike.

it is not necessary that service guys at svc will do everything right.... a lot of them are bunch of baboons... always ready for a quick buckOriginally posted by yamahafazer View PostIs it ok to use normal kerosene to just clean the chain of all the dirt ? .... anyways, for cleaning dirt, yes you can either use the cleaning sprays from Motul or any other brands or kerosene. I usually go for pressure wash and little bit of mild soap/ car shampoo lather, makes it all easy to get rid of dirt and oiled muck and grime and for lubricating as i have already mentioned a few pages back Motul or OKS. its a simple DIY, no need to run to svc for it.

..?i could afford upto 1k..n i live in mumbai(Kandivali)..!
And will it affect my bikes performance or anything else tht can b troublesome??

bro it is quite logical that you are simply replacing the existing stock panel panel with the different coloured one... so there is absolutely no question of reduction in performance unless the svc guy is busy fiddling with your carburetor or engine..Originally posted by Sahil Shah View PostHey guys as u know i have the black and green fz-s...i wanted to change my front fender and rear panels to latest black & green fz-s...as my 2,3 frnds got the same color fz-s,i just want mine to look little different so i took this decision..so i wanted to know is the latest green is similar to old green colour and for how much wuld b the costing

try squeezing your brakes when you start couple of times while moving.... the noise you are referring to might be coming because of moisture in the brake liners...Originally posted by yamahafazer View Post1) Really ? if you don't mind could explain in details about chain lube which is the best product and how and when to use.
Thanks Mate.

Go through the bike's bible "service manual" and you shall have all the answers... don't ever blindly believe whatever the svc guys tell you.. most of them are robotic idiots who will throw a stupid pointer or two to show that they are very knowledgeable!! Always change the sprocket along with the new chain and religiously clean the chain and then lube the chain with OKS chain spray or motul chain spray every 500 kms.. The interval between clean ups may decrease if your bike gets exposed to a lot of mud or dusty environment... that should reduce the sound coming from the chain completely..
and no these guys don't clean the clutch or accelerator cable but rather just put lube oil... if the dirt or smug clogs the freeplay of the clutch or accelerator.. the bike may show symptoms like you have mentioned with yours.. although i am not absolutely sure that it IS THE PROBLEM happening with your bike.. but definitely worth a shot... plus i would recommend that you should also replace both the cables if you are still on stock for the last 23,000kms.. won't cost you that much...

^+1.. Realy negligeable difference in mileage.Originally posted by nand15 View Posti've been running with this 15T setup for close to 5k kms now ... didn't see any variation in mileage ... remained same before and after ...
R15's front sprocket is same, rear sprocket is 40T so it would increase already amazing torque of FZ further but decrease your top end for sure.Originally posted by danny king View PostHi,
Did you find any changes like having to ride longer in lower gears to pick up speed or an increase in top end. How's the noise from the chain and quality of the sprockets. Pulsars have a noisy chain drive.
And did you change both the sprockets or just the rear one?
I've read in this thread that some guys have used R15 sprockets.
123-124 i guess.. When my FZ16 was just about 3 k kms old.. Now its 15+ k but still easily manages upto 120 kmph with crouching a bit..Originally posted by yamahafazer View Postwhats the maximum speed you have achieved on your FZ16/FZS/FAZER?
PS: Anyone has installed performance clutch plates for FZ?? Mine is due for replacement soon & a non yamaha mechanic suggested to replace with perormance clutch plates rather then stock ones.. He said it wont cost much more then stock.. Any idea ?

Not a Good Idea...
Have you imagined how the bike will look...too much of green in the front...& also I think the color won't match exctly....anyway you can check that before installing...also I think it will cost beyond 1K...may be bet'n 2K & 3K....Originally posted by Sahil Shah View PostHey guys as u know i have the black and green fz-s...i wanted to change my front fender and rear panels to latest black & green fz-s...as my 2,3 frnds got the same color fz-s,i just want mine to look little different so i took this decision..so i wanted to know is the latest green is similar to old green colour and for how much wuld b the costing

Guys,
I'm planning to get the stock headlights of my Fazer replaced by HID+projectors with Angel eyes ..
Are there any side effects that I might encounter at a later stage?
What are some of the basic things that I should be careful about while getting it installed?
I'm in talks with NK customs to get this mod carried out.. does anyone have an experience on working with him.. ? any feedbacks?

My suggestion is to get a single projector(+HID) for the low beam,be it single beam or bi-xen,your choice and leave your stock HIGH Beam reflector intact.Originally posted by digitalD View PostGuys,

Becouse having 2 proj+HID mean that either both should be on,which will drain your batt. in city or it means flashing your HID for high beam ,which isnt good for HID's and also pretty useless.and considering you will most probably be getting 6k HID its good to have the stock halogen along side.Smoke rubber, not tobacco.
