bro its raining almost daily here in bangalore am kinda tired of cleaning man

I honestly believe "OPEN CHAIN Concept" is making things a bit too difficult i now feel a closed chain is way better , F*** the looks the day to day splashing of water is driving me nuts besides theres lik a pile of mud on the rear mudguard sitting right beside the chain

QUESTION Is there any way i can close the chain socket ?
+ if i do so any downside on the performance end?

@nikeindevil nice report bro very real i m with u on a lot of em points

+1 to the above statement... Malad one is famous for being a con artist. I was chatting up with the head mechanic the other day and he did admit that Malad svc literally has done 15 such incidents with R15 owners, replacing the orginal fuel pump with a 2nd hand pump and putting up a bill ridiculously as high as 7k.

Anyways, if you can chat up with the guys and be nice to them over here they do let you stay in the workshop and let you watch the bike being serviced in front of your eyes..

        Cheers

The only problem with Kamla Yamaha is that you cant keep an eye on your bike. Their waiting room is on the first floor and they dont allow anyone to watch the bike while it is being serviced. Last time I felt that the service was not up to the mark so went to Ganesh Yamaha - Vikhroli. This SVC has a waiting room just next to the service area and you can watch them while they serviced your bike.

Ganesh Yamaha is quite okay when you need to do just basic servicing and need to get it done in front of your eyes. Else Kamla Yamaha is far more better than him. Ganesh Yamaha does not have basic tools to fasten the nuts, air blower to clean the air flter and many other small things which matter a lot. Also a lot of mechanics at Ganesh Yamaha lacks basic troubleshooting sense which is very important for a mechanic.

So I would any day prefer Kamla Yamaha. I wait till my servicing is done and watch my bike from outside after every 5 mins once it is on service bay .

          • is it normal for a bike to stall at an incline of 45 degree with two bars of petrol left!!
and what could be a single puff sound from the silencer mean?
i felt as if the bike was choking and just choked out but it happens only rarely(4 times) in past 2 months?
does filter have to do anything with this??
Our bikes can go from 0 - Stupid in less than "I wonder if this will be a good idea"

            • Hi Guys,

              One question,
Many times, I come across this feeling that my FZ-S tends to skid when I take a turns on normal road in about 40Kmph. I have checked the rear tyre, It looks fine. Is there anything else that can cause such problems ? My bike is just 9 months old now.

I don't know much about this.. maybe you can get your air filter checked..or get your carb cleaned..

If there is any sand or gravel on the road this is normal..if not maybe your air pressure is too high

Guys I'm planning to go for Joel's mods in a couple of days..only 1 item for now, confused between the FFE and big bore..which would make more difference solo?

Hmm.. I think you may be right regarding the Tyre pressure I usually fill in 34 PSI for the rear Tyre (I assume this will help me get more mileage). Apart from that, anything else I need to get checked from the SVC guys ?

                      3.5 to 4 x 1000rpm for normal condition.

34 Psi is not high by any means ... I run about 36 Psi because of the roads I travel on and the fact that 90% of the time there is a pillion ... Haven't had any sort of instability while cornering ...
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

                          Thanks Nand,
But any idea what can be the reason for such kinda instability in bikes ? Sorry for being a little naive, I am not a guy who knows all these bike stuffs
Mind you, I had a harmless fall which caused a small bend on my crash guard few months back, But I don't think that is to be blamed for something like what I am experiencing now.

I always have this problem that unless you specifically point out something to those SVC guys, they wont entertain any of your complaints.

                            • after reading the ownership experiences of other bikes (bajaj &tvs in particular) and coming to know about the numerous teething troubles they get makes me feel blessed for having chosen the fz.

before i started doing research as to what bike i should buy, i was of the opinion that all bikes are more or less made of the same quality, bolted on the same way, have similar troubles etc. but i realised the huge difference in build quality between them only after personal inspection and expert reviews.

for example the rear mudguard of our fzs perfectly align with the centre of our rear wheels and the bike is perfectly upright while on main stand. on the other hand, (no offense to apache riders) i have never seen one apache 180 where the mudguard aligns perfectly. the bike does not even stand upright while on the main stand. the seats dont shut perfectly etc. for pulsars(again no offense ppl) the mudguard vibrates badly. body panel gaps are irregular etc.

everything on our bikes feels like they have been made better, put-on proper, bolted-on perfectly and designed properly. i had the opportunity to ride this bike of a friend's who happens to be a pro stunter once. to my surprise the bike felt the same, the engine sounded and felt the same, the handling was the same even after years of abuse, whereas another pulsar guy in the group sold his bike after 16 months because it didn't feel the same anymore. I think the slightly higher prices of our fzs is fully justified and is worth it because it saves us from constant headache and worrying about the problems in our bike. The FZ is built like a tank. period.
