I think I also have some similar problems reported on this forum (chain slack etc), but the one bothering me very much is that no matter whatever gear I am in, it is very sluggish and does not give me a smooth acceleration. Kinda feeling you get when the petrol is just about to get over and you will have to move to reserve (or if you have forgot to turn the fuel gauge on).

Is this something to do with the carburetor? It is just 1 week old with only 130 KM on it.

    Any inputs would be awesome....

    I love the stability though...
im not sure if its chain slack. follow the manual. it gives detailed instructions to check for chain slack. my guess is that there is a problem with your carb/fuelling. Maybe you are running really lean. does your engine overheat? lastly, check for air filter faults.

    • I had a chat with Joel on Saturday regarding the big bore and free flow exhaust...the big bore is still being manufactured and would be available in 2-3 weeks..I plan to get both done in a month

          • I contacted joel and he told me it would cost around 20k for the big bore, big carb, FFE and the headwork. the expected power output is close to 19bhp.

            • FZ Handle Bar

Anyone tried to change FZ handle bar with anything comfortable? I think FZ handle bar has design fault, which causes pain in wrist and fingers.

RD-350 handle bar is one of the most comfortable, anyone tried it on FZ?

Well, I had checked for the engine oil as the first thing.. and it was normal.. so I started looking for the other areas..

Despite the issues, I continued to ride the bike as I have to travel ~60kms everyday and there is no other easy option to commute than ride the bike. Honestly, I was feeling a little bad to drag the bike without getting a proper service but to my surprise, as I continued to ride it day over day, the bike gradually got a bit smoother automatically.. I don't know how or why it happened there . Its as if the bike has its own brain and was not in the mood earlier .

However, I followed the instructions in the guide and checked the air-filer. It was. I checked for the chain slack too and here is the most confusing part..

The chain is tight at some parts and when the wheel is turned a little bit, the chain gets pretty loose.. So, if you rotate the wheel one complete turn, the chain would be tight for a few sectors and very loose on the other few.. I am not sure of the reason why this would happen... would it be something with the SPRocket gone bad, or just some alignment issue?

The bike also got pretty dirty during the week as it rained heavily during that time and there was a lot of mud stuck at the bottom.. so I got it washed at one of the local shops and also asked the mechanic there to take a look at the issues..

He checked the chain slack thing and tried to adjust the rear SPRocket to fix the tension, but I dont think it made much difference.. He said, its a pretty normal thing and there is nothing to worry about. I was still trying to think of possible causes, and felt that dirt and muck can be one of the reasons, so I got the chain cleaned up. I must say, for the first time I realized how, a well lubed clean chain makes a huge difference in the riding quality.

Other than the stress issues, I also noticed a little wobbling in the rear tyre.. when I checked with mechanic, he again said it was normal.. what can be a good way to check if its really wobbling and is not my illusion? and is a little wobble normal.. ?

Yes your Chain Sprockets are gone bad. Get it replaced. The same thing is happening with me. I am getting the chain sprocket set and the chain replaced this weekend.
Also as per my mechanic my front tyre bearings are gone bad and the front tyre is wobbling. This was confirmed by the Yamaha SVC also. So gonna change this also.

One question guys......my mechanic tried a lot to get the Unicorn's front sprocket but he was unable to get one. Is Pulsar's 15T front sprocket a direct fit? Has anyone tried using it?

It should fit ... But is a unicorn sprocket so hard to find ? I don't believe it makes a difference , just curious ...
