As it is I dont think you are happy with the current tyre. Better go for the new one may be it will work wonders or atleast u get rid of the punctures. And you are also getting ur money eventually.Originally posted by avneetrekhi20 View PostThx so much mate.. I just need to confirm if every one of us have faced this puncture issue? If NOT, then may be it was just my bad luck that i suffered from all of this.
New tyre costs about Rs 2700. I dn want to spend Rs 1350 odd Rs for a product which is still not proven. Although MRF Service Engg and manager are trying to assure me that it is the improved version and they have just created 25 odd pieces for the same.
@ All - Please advice. I have to come to a decision by today evening.

U may be correct but the fact cannot be denied that this is an experimental product..they havnt launched this in market as yet..and this may again trouble me in future...Originally posted by avithe1 View PostAs it is I dont think you are happy with the current tyre. When it comes to punctures, its just a matter of luck...some people may have many punctures riding on smooth roads, whereas some may not have a single puncture even with lots of offroading!Originally posted by avneetrekhi20 View PostU may be correct but the fact cannot be denied that this is an experimental product..they havnt launched this in market as yet..and this may again trouble me in future...

You forgot to tell me about the handle! Anyways, check the handle 1st. Bend each handle fully towards the side&measure the gap between the tank&handle bar end with your fingers.Originally posted by pali View Postbut even a bent handle could make the bike to go in a crooked line right?
correct me if im wrong..
im asking this because i had a minor fall a week back and my handle was bent by a very little angle.. the mech said he would get it set right but im not sure if he got it done..
so i tried this method and my bike was not going in a straight line..
but the catch is i felled my bike on the exhaust side but the bike kept tending to the left when i took my hands off the bike(it should be to the right as the handle would have bent to the right when i fell!)
or is it because of fork?i had my left fork 'hydraulic'-aly pressed after the fall..
If handle is aligned properly, next check fork as discussed earlier.Last edited by Sarvajit; 11-04-2009, 01:38 PM.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

@Sarvajit - Vats your quote brother? Should i spend 1300 odd Rs or should be content with the same new tyre with same configuration?Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostWhen it comes to punctures, its just a matter of luck...some people may have many punctures riding on smooth roads, whereas some may not have a single puncture even with lots of offroading!

Mileage & Pickup
Ok guys.. it seems like my mileage problem got fixed..after 2 days in the service centre
The choke plunger was stuck somewhere... I had the mileage test done today again.. and it came to around 8.3 for 200 ml.. thats about 41.5 KMpl.
The replaced the plunger and lubricated the cable for choke.
At the same time.., the changed the rear mud guard and the rear rim also. Pretty good job done by them....!!
Lets wait for couple of weeks and see how it comes out to be.

I have had 3 punctures in the rear tyre...but that was like 15K odd kms...and all the times it was a big nail or screw that pierced through. I wonder what would have the MRF guys done this time...

How do you do the mileage test. What exactly is this test? can you find out the maximum mileage which your bike can give? Do they charge at the service center for this? How much?
I am presently getting around 42kmpl mixed on my fz 16. This is after I adjusted the tuning so that the idle rpm is around 1200 rpm. Is it normal. Can anyone elaborate on how to tune the bike for more mileage?Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

Mine was free of cost, it was in response to my complaints about the mileage. They attach a 200 ml bottle and stop normal fuel from fuel tank...!! We ride the bike until it stops...!!

HI Shamanth,
How is the Osram night breaker working? There were some discussions saying that fitting a high intensity bulb would fade the reflectors/ make them yellowish.
Please share your experience.
Thanks.-AK

Headlight adjustment.....
Hey guys, I get out of office late in the evening and require extensive use of headlights of the FZ while returning back home..The throw of the bike is great and illumination it provides is satisfactory but the angle at which the light is thrown is a problem as it is just above the road horizon...it provides good reflection on the vehicles in front of me but is rather poor when it comes to road illumination ...has anyone faced this problem??? any solutions please reply back thnx.....sigpicGirls are like roads, more the curves, more the dangerous they are.
To ride or not to ride?? is a....
very very stupid question....

so you want to lower the angle of you head light right?Originally posted by k2cool_87 View PostHey guys, I get out of office late in the evening and require extensive use of headlights of the FZ while returning back home..The throw of the bike is great and illumination it provides is satisfactory but the angle at which the light is thrown is a problem as it is just above the road horizon...it provides good reflection on the vehicles in front of me but is rather poor when it comes to road illumination ...has anyone faced this problem??? any solutions please reply back thnx.....
many ppl got their FZ with the head lamp facing upwards....its very easy to adjust.
get the size 10 spanner and there is a nut on the left side of the bike near the head lamp...loosen it and adjust you headlight...tight it voila!Smoke rubber, not tobacco.

Dude, this is a very easy problem 2 fix. Go to any yamaha Service centre & ask them to allign the headlight a little downwards. It will just take a minute coz they dont even hav 2 open the headlight assembly, just adjust a screw from outsideOriginally posted by k2cool_87 View PostHey guys, I get out of office late in the evening and require extensive use of headlights of the FZ while returning back home..The throw of the bike is great and illumination it provides is satisfactory but the angle at which the light is thrown is a problem as it is just above the road horizon...it provides good reflection on the vehicles in front of me but is rather poor when it comes to road illumination ...has anyone faced this problem??? any solutions please reply back thnx.....
